Abstract

Physics learning barriers have been studied quite a lot, one of which is epistemological learning barriers. This study aims to determine the epistemological learning barriers and what the percentage of epistemological learning barriers on Newton’s law material about motion in one of the engineering class at one of the vocational high school in Indonesia. Therefore, the researchers reported the results of research related to epistemological learning barriers. This research was qualitative descriptive research. The subjects of this research were 65 students with an age range of 14-15 years. The data was collected using tests and interviews, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The data validity was determined using technical triangulation. The results of this research indicated that high epistemological barriers were found in two indicators, namely the incorrect calculation and the difficulty to determine the right calculation units on the Newton’s First, Second, and Third Laws with the percentages of 88.75%, 6.87%, and 98.45% respectively. The average percentage epistemological learning barriers on the Newton’s First Law was 61.7% within the moderate category and the average percentages of epistemological learning barriers on Newton’s Second and Third Laws were 70.61% and 76.50% within the high categories. Based on these results, it can be concluded that students had difficulty calculating and determining Newton’s Laws’ unit of calculation. It indicated that the students experience epistemological learning barriers with a high category.

Abstract

Madrasas support the development of gifted students by integrating general and religious education in a supportive environment. However, discrimination in education policies causes inequality and a lack of support for these students. Thus, special programs are essential for optimal development and career success. This research analyzes the planning of such programs in madrasas using a Systematic Literature Review. Data were collected from 34 documents from reputable scientific journals worldwide and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings reveal four key program components: (i) Identification of gifted students using assessment tools, expert teams, and multidimensional evaluation; (ii) Teacher training and professional development focusing on differential teaching strategies, collaborative learning, and partnerships with parents and stakeholders; (iii) Curriculum development including compression and enrichment; (iv) Development of special talents through artistic skills, academic competitions, creative skills, and collaborative activities. This research contributes to better educational policies and practices, ensuring gifted students receive the necessary support to reach their potential and succeed in their future careers.

Abstract

One factor that can influence the development of a student's literacy culture is their social environment. The social environment is a system of interactions between individuals and various parties around them that can influence their attitudes, behaviors, and habits in everyday life. This study aims to analyze the influence of the social environment on students’ literacy culture and its contribution to literacy culture at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Hikmah Bandar Lampung. The research employs a quantitative correlational approach. The population consisted of 323 students, with a sample of 179 students selected using cluster sampling. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires, and simple linear regression was used for data analysis. The results indicate that the t-value is 12.171, which is greater than the t-table value of 1.973, leading to the rejection of H₀ and acceptance of Hₐ. This finding confirms that the social environment significantly affects students’ literacy culture. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.456, suggesting that the social environment contributes 45.6% to students’ literacy culture, while the remaining 54.4% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.

Abstract

In the context of educational institutions, the implementation of these management functions serves as the primary foundation for managing various aspects of education, including student management. Student management is an integral part of educational management, specifically focusing on managing students as the primary subjects in the educational process. This study aims to analyze student management based on the planning–actuating–controlling cycle in improving students’ academic and non-academic achievements at MAN 1 Pesisir Barat. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach involving the principal, vice principal of student affairs, teachers, homeroom teachers, and extracurricular supervisors. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation and analyzed using an interactive model. The results show that planning has been systematically arranged through formal documents but is not fully based on students’ achievement data. Program implementation has been carried out fairly well through academic and non-academic activities, although challenges remain such as limited facilities and uneven student participation. Evaluation has been conducted regularly but has not been optimally used as a basis for decision-making. Therefore, student management has been implemented adequately but is not yet fully integrated into a data-driven management cycle.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged educational institutions to utilize online-based systems in the student admission process. The implementation of online recruitment is expected to improve the effectiveness of student admissions through easier access, wider dissemination of information, and more efficient administrative management. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of online recruitment in attracting qualified student candidates at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Hikmah Bandar Lampung. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving the admission committee, new students, and parents. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source triangulation. The results indicate that online recruitment increases the number of applicants, accelerates administrative processes, and improves cost efficiency through the use of digital media. However, the quality of applicants is still determined through a selection process based on the academic and religious standards established by the madrasah.

Abstract

Entrepreneurial management has become a strategic issue for Islamic educational institutions as they are increasingly expected to strengthen student independence, institutional sustainability, ethical leadership, and community empowerment. This study aims to synthesize the concepts, practices, novelty, and future directions of entrepreneurial management in Islamic educational institutions. Using an integrative review design, this study examined peer-reviewed literature published between 2020 and 2025 and analyzed ten selected articles after a screening process from 154 initial records. The selected articles were reviewed through inclusion and exclusion criteria, full-text eligibility assessment, structured data extraction, and thematic synthesis. The findings reveal that entrepreneurial management in Islamic educational institutions consists of five interconnected dimensions: Islamic value-based governance, entrepreneurial leadership, practice-oriented entrepreneurship education, stakeholder-based institutional sustainability, and digital or startup-oriented development. The review shows that entrepreneurship in Islamic education is not merely an economic activity or business training program, but an institutional management strategy that integrates Islamic values, curriculum innovation, business-unit development, alumni involvement, and external collaboration. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative framework that distinguishes entrepreneurship education as a pedagogical process from entrepreneurial management as a broader institutional capacity. The findings imply that Islamic schools, madrasahs, pesantren, and Islamic educational startups need to position entrepreneurship as part of strategic governance to enhance innovation, financial resilience, student employability, and socially responsible educational transformation.
