Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Modern technology continues to advance rapidly, impacting various aspects of life, including attendance management systems. One notable innovation is the integration of face recognition and geolocation technology for attendance systems. This technology provides a more efficient and accurate solution for recording attendance compared to conventional methods. Face recognition allows for automatic and quick identity verification, while geolocation ensures that users are in the correct location when marking their attendance. This study aims to design and develop an attendance information system utilizing both face recognition and geolocation technologies. Face recognition is implemented using a TensorFlow model trained to accurately recognize faces. Geolocation data is obtained from the GPS devices on users' smartphones and is used to verify their presence at authorized locations. The system is implemented as an interconnected website and mobile application for storing attendance information. The results of the research and testing indicate that the developed face recognition system can accurately identify faces and distinguish between real and fake faces. Additionally, the geolocation system can effectively verify users' locations and detect the use of spoofed locations. The educators at MA Al Bukhary possess the necessary devices to use this information system, meeting the technology requirements tested. From the user requirements testing, the system received a score of 88,06, categorized as excellent (A).

Abstract

The development of information technology has had a significant impact on various sectors, including in the world of education, especially in project management. One of the popular information technology-based project management applications is ASANA, which offers various features to facilitate team collaboration and task management. This article aims to evaluate the use of ASANA in the Human Computer Interaction (HCI) course of the Informatics Undergraduate Study Program at Surabaya State University (UNESA) Campus 5, with a focus on ease of use, the effectiveness of team collaboration, and its impact on student work outcomes. This study uses a case study method by collecting data through questionnaires and interviews with students who use ASANA in group projects. The results of the study indicate that ASANA provides convenience in organizing tasks, speeding up communication between team members, and increasing transparency and accountability in project completion. However, several challenges such as difficulties in initial adaptation and limited features in the free version of ASANA were found in the use of this application. Overall, the ASANA application has proven effective in supporting project management in the HCI course, but there are several aspects that need to be improved to maximize its benefits. This study is expected to provide insight into the development of information technology-based project management methods in academic environments.

Abstract

Muslims who are able, both physically and financially. However, the implementation of this worship often faces challenges, especially for pilgrims who get lost or separated from the group. Based on data, the number of pilgrims reported lost every year reaches thousands of cases, with one of the main contributing factors being overcrowding, language barriers, and complex environments. To overcome this problem, this research aims to design and develop an Android-based HajjWayFinder application by utilising the Location Based Services (LBS) method using the React Native framework and Firebase Firestore. The HajjWayFinder application is designed to assist mentors in monitoring the movement of pilgrims in real-time, tracking the location of lost pilgrims, and facilitating communication through the Panic Button feature. Using the Extreme Programming (XP) method approach, this application is developed with an iterative cycle to ensure functionality and user needs are met. Black-box testing showed that the application was able to run well, both in terms of main features and user interface. The results show that this application can reduce the time and effort required by the mentor to find lost pilgrims. In addition, this application helps improve the solemnity of the Hajj pilgrimage by minimising the stress and panic experienced by pilgrims. The implementation of this technology is expected to make a significant contribution in supporting the implementation of a more organised and effective Hajj.
