Abstract

Garbage has become a classic problem that is constantly discussed and never finished in Indonesia. The dense population and settlements make the amount of waste produced is also increasing, because the waste is the result of daily human activities. With the increasing number of residents and dense settlements, the amount of waste will also continue to accumulate, therefore we as a group that cares about the environment and is tasked with providing useful and informative information to the community conduct counseling about the importance of processing household waste independently, one of which is the manufacture of fertilizers. compost with a simple composter. It is hoped that this activity can increase public awareness about wise steps to dispose of waste and adapt the concept of zero waste in everyday life. The location of this community service is in the village of West Deli Tua, Deli Tua District, Deli Serdang Regency. North Sumatra. The location of West Deli Tua was chosen as the research location considering the dense population and the density of population activities in the West Deli Tua village which has the potential to produce a lot of waste, especially household waste.

Abstract

The Community Partnership Program is one of the research programs that was carried out in 2021 in the Deli Tua Health Center work area. This program was conducted to validate the prototype of the tuberculosis monitoring system. In 2020 the number of new tuberculosis (TB) cases (notified TB) in the working area of the Deli Tua Health Center reached 143 cases with a success rate of 76% and MDR TB reaching 15%. This decrease in cases was caused by: 1) taking medication on time and the wrong dose of MDR TB treatment and 2) non-adherence to taking medication. To solve the problem, google earth mapping and calendar documentation have been applied. The results of the implementation showed that there was a significant difference in the completeness of treatment before and after the intervention (RR=2.21; 95%CI: 1.32-3.69), the cure rate for tuberculosis cases (RR=1.87; 95%CI: 1 .17-2.99), treatment drop-out rate (RR=1.77; 95%CI: 1.07-2.95), and mortality rate (p<0.01).

Abstract

Kebersihan mulut dan kesehatan gigi sangat penting dalam kehidupan seseorang dalam kesehariannya, terdapat berbagai macam bakteri yang tidak menguntungkan pada rongga mulut, diantaranya adalah bakteri penyebab sariawan yaitu Streptococcus mutans. Komponen utama daun sereh terdiri dari alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin dan saponin. Penggunaan sereh sebagai obat kumur merupakan alternatif pengganti sediaan obat kumur yang umumnya mengandung antiseptik berupa alkohol yang dapat memicu terjadinya kanker mulut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasi daun sereh sebagai obat kumur dan mengetahui perbedaan efektivitas antibakteri terhadap pertumbuhan Streptococcus mutans dengan variasi konsentrasi 5%, 10%, 15% dan tanpa ekstrak daun sereh. Uji aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan media agar. Obat kumur ekstrak sereh memiliki pH di luar kisaran pertumbuhan optimum bakteri yaitu 6. Viskositas obat kumur adalah 1,00-4,60 Cp. Aktivitas antibakteri Streptococcus mutans pada kontrol tidak menghasilkan zona hambat, pada konsentrasi 5% sebesar 9,06 mm, konsentrasi 10%  sebesar 10,95 mm dan konsentrasi 15% sebesar 16,65 mm sedangkan pada kontrol positif sebesar 25,09 mm. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah obat kumur ekstrak sereh konsentrasi 5%, 10% dan 15% dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Streptococcus mutans

Abstract

Garlic contains flavonoids, tannins, and saponins which act as antifungals. The purpose of this study was to formulate an ethanol extract of garlic (Allium sativum) ointment with various concentrations of 5%, 10%, 15% and to evaluate the ointment preparation with physical evaluation requirements. Testing the activity of the ointment preparation against the fungus Trichophyton mentagrophytes was carried out by the diffusion method. The results showed that garlic (Allium sativum) could be formulated as an antifungal ointment preparation and met the requirements of the ointment preparation evaluation test with the results of the organoleptic test of the white ointment base, the 5% formulation being pale yellow, the 10% formulation and 15% brownish yellow. The homogeneity test showed no lumps in the ointment preparation, the pH test was in accordance with the requirements, namely 4.5-6.5. The dispersion test was in accordance with the requirements, namely 5-7 cm, and the adhesive data test was in accordance with the requirements, which was more than 4 seconds. The results showed that garlic (Allium sativum) ethanol extract ointment could inhibit the fungus Trichophyton mentagrophytes where a concentration of 15% produced an inhibition zone of 10.4500 mm, and as a comparison, miconazole ointment produced an inhibition zone of 14.3833 mm.

Abstract

Background: Locus control is dimensions psychology at play important in self elderly in application Covid-19 prevention. Purpose:  for knowing knowing connection locus control to obedience elderly in doing protocol health Covid-19 prevention. Method : Study this is correlative . Research samples as many as 209 elderly with cluster sampling based on 5 villages and simple random sampling based on population data  Study this will held in 1 year in Work Area Deli Tua Health Center . Instruments in the form of questionnaire locus control . Results: Research results obtained that there is connection locus control to obedience elderly in application proces Covid-19 prevention in the elderly. Conclusion: Importance observation to locus control To use increase obedience.

Abstract

Reproductive health is an important issue and must get attention, especially among adolescents. Adolescence is a transition period from childhood and adulthood, in this period a growth spurt occurs, secondary sex characteristics arise, fertility is achieved and psychological and cognitive changes occur. Adolescence occurs in the age range of 10-19 years. This period is the period of maturation of the human reproductive organs, and is often called puberty. During adolescence, children experience accelerated growth both physically and psychologically. During this period, namely the transition from children to adolescents, there are three risks that are often faced by adolescents, namely risks related to sexuality (unwanted pregnancy, abortion and infection with sexually transmitted diseases), drug abuse, and HIV/AIDS. Therefore, our research team feels the need to provide education to students at school. Community service activities regarding reproductive health are carried out at the Yapim Biru-biru Private School through 3 stages, namely the preparation stage, implementation stage and reflection stage. At the end of this activity, at the reflection stage, a questionnaire was distributed as a form of evaluation to see the understanding that had been obtained after participating in this activity. The results of this service activity provide benefits in the form of expanding the horizons and knowledge of adolescents about reproductive health, so that adolescents can be more alert and careful in socializing.

Abstract

Ketombe adalah suatu kondisi yang tidak normal pada kulit kepala yang disebabkan oleh infeksi jamur Candida albicans. Daun mimba (Azaradiracta indica A. Juss) sebagai bahan alami, mengandung senyawa antijamur seperti alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, tanin, triterpenoid. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan formulasi sampo antiketombe dengan menggunakan ekstrak etanol daun mimba (Azaradiracta indica A. Juss). Penelitian diawali dengan membuat ekstrak daun mimba yang diperoleh dengan metode maserasi. Kemudian ekstrak diformulasikan menjadi sediaan sampo dalam tiga variasi konsentrasi, yaitu 1,5%, 2%, dan 2,5%. Sediaan dievaluasi organoleptik, pH, tinggi busa, homogenitas, viskositas, dan daya sebar serta pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak etanol pada aktivitas antijamur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun mimba (Azaradiracta indica A. Juss) dapat di formulasikan dalam sediaan sampo antiketombe yang homogen, berwarna hijau muda, dan memiliki daya sebar 6 cm, dengan pH 7 dan memiliki viskositas 2000 cps. Aktivitas antijamur diuji menggunakan metode difusi cakram dengan mengamati daerah hambatan pertumbuhan jamur yang menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi 2,5% dan kontrol (+) sampo Ketoconazole memberikan diameter zona hambat tertinggi menunjukkan respons yang kuat dalam menghambat pertumbuhan mikroba. Hasil uji One Way ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan (p-value 0,05) terhadap luas zona hambat Candida albicans pada setiap kelompok data.

Abstract

Rumput israel (Asystasia gangetica) atau sering disebut dengan tanaman Ara sungsang merupakan salah satu tanaman budidaya yang berpotensi sebagai antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol rumput Israel dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli dan untuk mengetahui perbedaan aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol rumput Israel pada berbagai konsentrasi. Metode : Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 70%. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode difusi cakram kertas. Aktivitas ini ditandai dengan terbentuknya zona bening pada area paper disc. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan 4 perlakuan konsentrasi yaitu 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, dan kontrol negatif aquades dan kontrol positif amoksisilin. Hasil : Berdasarkan hasil uji one way ANOVA menunjukkan adanya pengaruh aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Escherichia coli dengan nilai signifikansi (p0,05) dengan nilai F = 53.393. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan penggunaan berbagai konsentrasi ekstrak rumput Israel dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli. Penentuan diameter zona hambat sebelum perlakuan adalah 16mm dan sesudah perlakuan. Konsentrasi ekstrak lebih baik dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli yaitu konsentrasi 100% dengan diameter 20,4 mm

Abstract

Latar belakang: Simplisia adalah bahan alami yang dapat digunakan sebagai obat tradisional, yang dalam praktiknya belum mengalami pengolahan lebih lanjut selain proses pengeringan Salah satu tumbuhan obat yang dapat digunakan sebagai obat tradisional adalah herba suruhan (Peperomia pellucida H.B.K.). Simplisia sebagai bahan baku ekstrak harus memenuhi persyaratan yang tercantum dalam monografi buku Materia Medika Indonesia. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakterisasi simplisia dan skrining fitokimia dari simplisia herba suruhan standar mutu dan keamanan dari bahan baku obat tradisional. Hasil: Diperoleh kadar sari yang larut dalam air 18,8%, kadar sari yang larut dalam etanol 12,83%, kadar abu total  3,85 %, kadar abu yang tidak larut dalam asam 1,17 % dan kadar air 6,66 %. Hasil pemeriksaan mikroskopik serbuk simplisia dijumpai adanya rambut penutup, parenkim, berkas pembuluh dengan penebalan spiral, tetes minyak, stomata tipe anomositik, pada tulang daun terdapat berkas pembuluh dan hablur kalsium oksalat berbentuk drusse dan persegi, sel batu dan sel epidermis. Skrining fitokimia terhadap serbuk simplisia menunjukkan adanya senyawa golongan flavonoida, glikosida, tannin dan triterpenoida/steroida bebas. Kesimpulan: Hasil pemeriksaan karakterisasi simplisia herba suruhan (Peperomia pellucida H.B.K.) memenuhi syarat dimana kadar sari yang larut dalam air 18,8%, kadar sari yang larut dalam etanol 12,83%, kadar abu total  3,85 %, kadar abu yang tidak larut dalam asam 1,17% dan kadar air 6,66 %.

Abstract

RBD Palm olein is processed from the fruit of the oil palm (Elaeis guineensis) and used as cooking oil. RBD Palm Olein is widely used for cooking oil in many countries. Quality is an important and useful characteristic of edible oil commodities and their transactions from a business aspect. This study aims to analyze the quality of cooking oil based on PORAM (The Palm Oil Refiners Association of Malaysia) specification. Quality parameters requirements as listed in the Palm Oil Refinery Association of Malaysia (PORAM) specification such as moisture and impurities (M&I), free fatty acids (FFA), slip melting point (SMP), iodine value (IV) and colour were determined. There were six samples in total and the quality analysis result is compared with the PORAM Specification. All samples are fulfilled PORAM specifications.
