Abstract

This study explores the challenges faced by the plastic manufacturing company PT XYZ, which produces make-to-order masterbatch. The primary issue is the untimely distribution schedule, which results in an inability to meet production targets. The unknown production capacity leads to bottlenecks in the production process. The study employs the Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) method to calculate the production capacity of each work station. The analysis results reveal that work stations SK1, SK2, SK3, SK4, and SK5 experience bottlenecks due to capacity demands exceeding available capacity. Suggested solutions include increasing working hours for SK1 (36 hours), SK2 (19 hours), SK3 (5 hours), SK4 (111 hours), and SK5 (45 hours) to address these bottlenecks. Further optimization using Linear Programming POM-QM shows that the RCCP method has achieved optimal results, with the company required to produce 12.95 units of product A, 7.27 units of product B, 4.12 units of product C, and 3.75 units of product D. The combination of RCCP and Linear Programming methods enables the company to efficiently determine the required capacity, address bottlenecks, and ensure optimal fulfillment of customer orders.

Abstract

PT Mama Fuji Group is a company that sells instant food through online platforms, such as Shopee, Lazada, Tokopedia, and Tiktok Shop. In 15 months in Q3 2022 - Q3 2023,  PT Mama Fuji Group has a high fluctuation level, leading to a gap between production numbers and the actual demand. This problem causes several losses from the overstock or out-of-stock in finished goods warehouse. Hence, a company should prepare an effective production planning system, such as Forecasting. This research aimed to determine the most valid Forecasting using quantitative descriptive research methods with the Time Series method, such as Moving Average, SES (Single Exponential Smoothing), DES (Double Exponential Smoothing), or Holt’s Method, Linear Exponential Smoothing (Winter Method), and Trend Linear. Data is analyzed with Microsoft Excel and Minitab 22 software. Based on ABC analysis, products with code RNDG700, KB0002, KB0001, RNDGMINI, and DNDNG160 are the A class and five highest contributors, with 65,58% of total product value, and Winter Method becoming the best method, which had the most minor error presentation for the entire product item with MAPE value from each item is RNDG700 for 1,16%, KB0002 for 8%, KB0001 for 5%, RNDGMINI for 25% and DNDNG160 for 3,92%.

Abstract

The research aims to find the factors that cause high inventory value, increase the value of forecasting precision, service level and cost efficiency with fishbone diagrams and proposed methods. The research sample is 9 spare parts included in classification A in the ABC analysis and maintenance list 2018. Forecasting methods use Moving Average, Single Exponential Smoothing and Syntetos-Boylan Approximation as well as Mean Square Error calculation, deterministic inventory calculation and Continuous Review Method. The results of this study are an increase in logistics costs by $ 808.71 in the inventory management proposal. An increase in service level from 95% to 99% and the error value in the calculation of the proposal becomes smaller using the proposed method. This study also found that the factor causing the high inventory value was due to inaccurate planning methods so that other comparative methods were needed that could increase the precision of demand forecasting.

Abstract

PT. Krakatau Posco, is the largest steel manufacturing company in Southeast Asia that produces slabs and plates. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of controlling inventory of steel material fabrication workshop with the EOQ method and compared with the current method of the company in an effort to prevent the unavailability of such steel material fabrication. Inventory control using the EOQ method is expected to provide solutions for inventory control, and optimal ordering in order to obtain savings for inventory costs (Total Inventory Cost) at PT. Krakatau Posco. The method used is an interview and take the necessary data, then conduct an initial analysis using the ABC method to clarify the data that has been carried out at PT. Krakatau Posco, controls inventory using EOQ, determines safety stock, ROP and maximum inventory. By controlling the ordering and inventory also expected to provide significant savings for the company, by reducing inventory costs (Total Inventory Cost). The conclusion of this research is the EOQ method is the right method for controlling steel raw material fabrication to meet the production and repair processes at PT. Krakatau Posco and with this method the results of total inventory costs are also more efficient.

Abstract

The research was conducted in the building material manufacturing industry. Research focus onplanning and controlling raw fiber roof fiber cement raw material using the Material Requirement Planning method. Problems that occur because of fluctuations in stock. By evaluating the planning process, calculating raw material requirements and then reviewing the most efficient Lotsizing techniques between Fixed Order Quantity, Economic Order Quantity, Lot for Lot, Period Order Quantity. Besides that, a strategy is also studied so that MRP can be applied. From the application of the lot sizing technique, the most efficient lotting method is obtained from the Lot for Lot method at a cost of Rp. 5.29 billion. The application of MRP also has an impact on improving inventory performance, changes in minimum and maximum stock changes that are adjusted to production activities. Efficient purchase costs from total raw material needs with an average value of Rp 8.33 billion.
