Abstract

Customer satisfaction is the main orientation of a company. To fulfill consumer desires, the company should pay attention to procuring raw materials and choosing the right supplier. Manufacturing companies have to think about how their products have added value compared to other companies. Company XYZ needs to determine the right strategy for purchasing rubber raw materials to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the company. The method for analyzing the selection of suppliers of rubber raw materials is the TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) method with the weighting of the criteria obtained from the AHP calculation value. The TOPSIS method is used to sort alternative suppliers based on the closest distance from the alternative value to the positive ideal solution and the farthest distance from the perfect negative solution. The data processing results are compared to other suppliers with a value of 0.31088 and the distance of the farthest negative ideal solution from the others with a value of 0.22064. Rank 1: company C, Rank 2: company A, Rank 3: company E, Rank 4: company B, Rank 5: company D.

Abstract

A manufacturing company in production activities requires machinery and equipment. The machine has reliability, namely the opportunity for the machine to operate according to its function in a certain period. Company XYZ is a company located in Sidoarjo and is engaged in manufacturing with the main product being White Crystal Sugar (GKP). Company XYZ has several machines or equipment that operate 24 hours throughout the milling season with a series and parallel system so that the probability of damage to machine components is quite high. One of the machines that are often damaged is the boiler engine. Based on the problems that exist in this company, it is necessary to evaluate the engine performance at the boiler station during the milling period. The methods used in this research are Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Root Cause Analysis. The OEE value obtained by the machine at the boiler station at Company XYZ for machines that have a value above the ideal standard of 85%, namely bagasse carrier IV, bagasse carrier III, bagasse carrier II, belt conveyor, reclaimer I, and reclaimer II. Meanwhile for machines that have a value below the ideal standard of 85%, namely boilers KCC of 77.98%, boilers FCB of 81.73%, and bagasse carrier I of 82.37%. This condition shows that production is considered reasonable, but still shows that there is a large room for the company to make developments.

Abstract

The home industry ABC daily produces cassava, yams, and tempeh chips. From preliminary observations, information is obtained that enables determining the composition of the number of units for each type of chip produced and determining the selling price of the product per unit, which is carried out based on experience while running the business. Therefore, there is no ideal way to define it. This condition requires a review of the company's profit to determine whether it is optimal or not. This research aims to determine the number of production units of each type of chip to obtain maximum profit and the efficiency of using cost and time resources. Data collection was carried out by observation and interviews. The mathematical model of the research problem is a linear program problem with three variables that can be solved by the simplex method. From the results of the data analysis, it was concluded that to obtain maximum profit. The company had to produce 74 units of cassava chips and 161 units of cassava chips without producing tempeh chips. The maximum profit is IDR 285.387 (previously IDR 247. 000), the production capital is IDR 889.613 (previously IDR 928.000) and all available time has been consumed.

Abstract

The effectiveness of the system of public education in a country is one of the most important aspects of its development. The COVID-19 initiative affected the educational system previously. The education system in Indonesia, however, is utilizing the offline or non-network learning approach now that the COVID-19 pandemic conditions, particularly in Indonesia, have abated. The teaching and learning process that takes place in schools exposes pupils to issues that develop in the educational setting and are frequently experienced by students. The frequent occurrence of saturation and exhaustion during school activities is one example. The objective of this final project is to determine the level of saturation and fatigue in offline learning among students at ABC Elementary School and to propose improvements to minimize the levels of saturation and fatigue. The methods used for research are MBI-SS (Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey) for the level of saturation and SOFI (Swedish Occupational Fatigue Inventory) for the level of fatigue. The research results from 75 students show that for the level of saturation, there are 49 students (65%) in the low category, 25 students (34%) in the moderate category, and 1 student (1%) in the high category. For the level of fatigue, there are 56 students (75%) in the moderate category, 19 students (25%) in the moderate category, and 0% in the high category. To saturation and fatigue, the school can engage in ice-breaking activities, inject humor during learning sessions, and provide additional nutrition such as pudding or similar items in the morning.

Abstract

XYZ is a company that operates in the frozen food industry in particular. The company is a producer of high-quality frozen food products for export, so, naturally, other stakeholders in each division of the company need to work together well. Machine maintenance is a key aspect in maintaining the performance and reliability of industrial equipment. To increase machine maintenance efficiency in this factory, a comprehensive and structured approach is needed. Therefore, this research will discuss the machine maintenance strategy implemented in the Sabroe production line. The two methods that will be the main focus of this research are Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Maintenance Value Stream Mapping (MVSM). The conclusion obtained by examining the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) for each component in the blanching machine, it can be concluded that the gearbox component has the highest RPN, namely 216, which is the result of multiplying the Severity, Occurrence, and Detection values. During the period of breakdowns and repairs of the blanching machine, the Mean Time to Failure (MTTF) is found to be 242.2538 hours. Meanwhile, the Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) reaches 172.6 minutes or equivalent to 2.8 hours. The gearbox component requires a repair time of 2.8 hours. The inspection interval for the gearbox component is calculated for 302.01 hours, or every 12 days in a month. Efficiency analysis of maintenance using the Maintenance Value Stream Mapping approach indicates that the percentage of maintenance efficiency reaches 73.2%. Activities that add value require a longer time, around 172.6 minutes, while activities that do not add value require about 63.2 minutes.

Abstract

Company X, one of the largest dolomite fertilizer manufacturers in Indonesia, has recently encountered issues regarding discrepancies in information regarding demand and orders between the company and its eight sales offices. This problem mainly pertains to the Magnesium Fertilizer Magfertil 20+ product in 50 kg packaging. This situation has disrupted the company's supply chain and led to uncertainty in demand, commonly known as the bullwhip effect in the supply chain. The objective of this research is to achieve optimal inventory management to reduce the bullwhip effect among stakeholders in Company X's supply chain. The approach used is the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) method. The calculation results demonstrate that the implementation of the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) method has been highly successful in reducing the bullwhip effect at various levels within the supply chain. For instance, at the manufacturing level, the initial bullwhip effect value was 1.4503, but after implementing the VMI method, it significantly decreased to 0.4943. Meanwhile, the bullwhip effect I value at each sales office in Office Sales 1, Office Sales 2, Office Sales 3, Office Sales 4, Office Sales 5, Office Sales 6, Office Sales 7, Office Sales 8 is 1.4198, 1.4455, 1.6277, 1.4902, 1.3204, 1, 2093, 1.2994 and 1.4744. However, when applying the proposed VMI method the results of the bullwhip effect decreased drastically until the figures were 0.5007, 0.4773, 0.4909, 0.5097, 0.4975, 0.5015, 0.5014 and 0.4902.
