Abstract

Limbah cangkang kepiting dan kulit udang memiliki kandungan kitin yang dinilai berpotensi menjadi Chitosan Polymer Medium (CPM) sebagai bahan pelapis masker untuk menyisihkan zat toksik pada asap rokok. Bahaya yang sudah diidentifikasi memerlukan beberapa langkah pengendalian ke titik yang aman. Cara yang dapat digunakan untuk mengendalikan bahaya asap rokok adalah dengan menggunakan masker. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik CPM cangkang kepiting dan kulit udang yang berguna sebagai CPM. Analisis yang digunakan adalah Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) untuk mengetahui karakteristik, dan Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) untuk mengetahui struktur dan derajat deasetilasi. Hasil terbaik yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini adalah Chitosan Polymer Medium (CPM) kulit udang dengan diameter pori-pori ± 0,31 μm – 0,33 μm dengan kerapatan tinggi dan derajat deasetilasi sebesar 82,10%.

Abstract

Penggunaan bahan bakar fosil untuk kendaraan bermotor di Indonesia berpotensi menghasilkan emisi udara yang dapat mencemari lingkungan terutama kesehatan manusia. Parameter yang sering dijadikan acuan pencemaran oleh emisi kendaraan bermotor yaitu NO2. Pada saat ini citra satelit telah dikembangkan dan dimanfaatkan di berbagai bidang. Salah satunya yaitu guna melakukan pemantauan kualitas udara. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu melakukan analisa pengaruh rasio luas Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH) di Kota Surabaya dan Jakarta terhadap penurunan NO2 dilakukan pada penelitian ini. Metode yang digunakan dengan menggunakan data NO2 troposfer berdasarkan data total kolom NO2 citra satelit GOME 2 METOP B. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan luar ruang terbuka memberikan pengaruh terhadap penurunan angka NO2 di udara.

Abstract

PDAM Ngagel 1 is a branch of PDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya under the auspices of the Surabaya Regional Owned Enterprise which focuses on providing clean water to the people of Surabaya. The raw water source used by PDAM comes from the Surabaya River, which is then processed into clean water. In providing clean water, an effective processing process is carried out so that good water quality is obtained. One of the indicators in determining the quality of the water produced is turbidity. This research aims to analyze the quality of production water produced by PDAM Ngagel 1 based on turbidity parameters as an indicator by paying attention to the influence of coagulant and polymer dosage. The water quality analysis was carried out using a simple linear regression test method with the help of Minitab 17 software. The results of this study showed that the turbidity level was influenced by the coagulant dose of 64.4% and the polymer dose of 61.1%, but had a negative value on the turbidity parameter. So the higher the dose of coagulant and polymer used, the lower the resulting turbidity value. This affects the quality of production water produced by PDAM Ngagel 1 which has met the quality standards set by the government based on PERMENKES No. 492 of 2010. PDAM Ngagel 1 ialah salah satu cabang dari PDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya dibawah naungan Badan Usaha Milik Daerah Surabaya yang berfokus pada penyediaan air bersih kepada masyarakat Surabaya. Sumber air baku yang digunakan oleh PDAM berasal dari Sungai Surabaya, yang kemudian diolah menjadi air bersih. Dalam penyediaan air bersih dilakukan proses pengolahan yang efektif sehingga didapatkan kualitas air yang baik, salah satu indikator dalam menentukan kualitas air yang dihasilkan yakni kekeruhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kualitas air produksi yang dihasilkan oleh PDAM Ngagel 1 berdasarkan parameter kekeruhan sebagai indikator dengan memperhatikan pengaruh dosis koagulan dan polimer. Analisis kualitas air tersebut dilakukan menggunakan metode uji regresi linear sederhana dengan bantuan software Minitab 17. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kekeruhan dipengaruhi oleh dosis koagulan sebesar 64,4% dan dosis polimer sebesar 61,1%, namun bermilai negatif terhadap parameter kekeruhan. Sehingga semakin tinggi dosis koagulan dan polimer yang digunakan maka semakin rendah nilai kekeruhan yang dihasilkan. Hal tersebut berpengaruh terhadap kualitas air produksi yang dihasilkan oleh PDAM Ngagel 1 yang telah memenuhi baku mutu yang ditetapkan oleh pemerintah berdasarkan PERMENKES No. 492 Tahun 2010.

Abstract

Clean water is river water that is managed by the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) into water that meets predetermined regulations. According to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 736/Menkes/PER/VI/2010 and the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 492/Menkes/PER/IV/2010, one of the parameters managed is to remove particles (pathogenic bacteria), remove residual chlorine levels and maintain the pH in the clean water. The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation between residual chlorine and pH in clean water. This research is a study that uses data for 2 months in 2022, namely in August and September. The data was entered into Minitab 17 software with normality, correlation and simple linear regression test methods. The results obtained in this study are in August and September have almost the same results. The results in August have a very small correlation that can be said to have no correlation between residual chlorine and pH, while in September has a small correlation between residual chlorine and pH.

Abstract

The need for building materials, especially piled up soil, is increasing along with the increase in the construction of facilities and infrastructure. Under these conditions, mining activities for the extraction of piled up soil minerals are also increasing. These mining activities will certainly have an impact on the surrounding area from an economic, environmental and social perspective. Therefore, this research aims to find solutions for mining activities that have an impact on the surrounding area by managing, restoring and improving the quality of the environment and ecosystem so that they can function again according to their designation. This research method uses a descriptive approach by providing a detailed description of how the environmental management plan for the land after mining activities. In addition, this research is also aimed at projecting land conditions when mining activities take place with land conditions when environmental management has been carried out. The projected condition of the land will be processed using ArcGis and Global Mapper software. The post-mining environmental management plan is carried out based on the identification of potential mining impacts. Post-mining environmental management will be carried out using revegetation techniques and land arrangement according to the procedures for post-mining environmental management stages. Environmental management will be carried out every year in order to minimize environmental damage and stabilize green areas. This environmental management activity will restore the function of the mining land to its original state (before mining), namely to become rice fields and moor areas.

Abstract

Petrokimia Gresik is one of the largest and most comprehensive fertilizer companies in  Indonesia, playing a major role in the food security sector. The superior fertilizer production is  ZA II fertilizer. The existence of a strong concern lies in the emissions produced in the production  process where the presence of gas can trigger environmental impacts if not properly managed and  controlled. Therefore, through methodLife Cycle Assessment (LCA) is able to identify and assess  potential environmental impacts in PT Petrokimia Gresik's ZA II fertilizer production process.  Approach done byEndpoint divided into human health, ecosystem quality, and natural  resourcesRecipe 2016. As a support for the identification carried out, software will be used in the  form of Open LCA type 1.11.0 and SimaPro type 9.4.0.2. The studies obtained show that there is  a unit process that is produced with the greatest impact on the drying unit system (drying) and  cooling (cooling) due to the causes of the chemicals used and the emission content released in the  form of ammonia (NH3) and carbon dioxide (CO2). With this impact, it is necessary to carry out  alternative solutions to reduce the risk of impacts that occur in the ZA II fertilizer production  process.

Abstract

PT X's office and courier activities generate domestic wastewater on a daily basis. The activity comes from domestic activities and support activities such as vehicle washing, maintenance of equipment utilities, mopping and equipment washing. Wastewater has a negative impact on the environment and society if not properly managed. This research was conducted on the wastewater of PT X in March 2023 and the parameters to be tested were at the inlet and outlet points of the WWTP. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the effluent treatment efficiency (%) on the ammonia and total coliform levels at the inlet and outlet of the PT X WWTP, which have exceeded the quality standard threshold. The methodology used is a quantitative descriptive method, namely by attaching laboratory test results in the form of numbers and using the Soeparman and Suparmin effectiveness formula. The results of calculating the effectiveness of reducing ammonia levels by 0% with ineffective information and the results of calculating the effectiveness of reducing total coliform levels by 0.98% with ineffective information. So the result of this study is that the ammonia levels at the inlet and outlet and the total coliform levels at the inlet of the effluent in the WWTP did not meet the required quality standards, which proves that the WWTP treatment system at PT X was not operating optimally.

Abstract

PT X is a ceramic industry, there are several stages, namely the powdering, pressing and firing stages, which generate emissions at each stage of the production process. Emissions from industrial activities can pollute the air around industrial sites. This pollution can be prevented and offset by management practices such as the provision of green open spaces. However, PT X does not yet have any green areas, which is very contrary to current regulations. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyse the need for green open space from the total area owned by PT X. In conducting the study, a quantitative descriptive method was used by conducting data analysis on primary and secondary data. The results of this study state that PT X is required to provide Green Open Space as a form of mitigation and fulfilment of legal obligations.

Abstract

The process of burning bagasse in a steam boiler produces pollutants in the form of exhaust gas emissions through the chimney, which can pollute air quality and harm health. The aim of this study is to determine the great influence of meteorological factors including exhaust gas temperature, air temperature, and flow speed in 4 areas of the boiler pipe that can affect the load of SO2 and NO2 gas pollutants through statistical data analysis. The ANOVA test used in this study was the ANOVA One Way test. The results of the study showed that there was a significant influence of the air temperature factor on SO2 in Boiler 4 / Cheng Chen with a value of F value 14,553 and a sig value of 0,032, as well as the influence that exists on the exhaust gas temperature factor and air temperature on NO2 in Stork Boiler 2 with an F value of 15,358 ; 17,889 and a sig value of 0.030 ; 0.024. The results of the analysis can be used as monitoring to evaluate the success rate and operational efficiency of the boiler under the management that has been carried out.

Abstract

Fertilizers support the country's food security through State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), including PT Petrokimia Gresik which is the most complete and largest fertilizer producer in Indonesia and produces several waste products, including industrial waste. The presence of liquid waste in the environment is undesirable because it has no economic value. Therefore, the need for waste disposal is very important. PT Petrokimia Gresik uses physical and chemical treatment. PT Petrokimia Gresik conducts liquid waste treatment through a series of processes consisting of two wastewater treatment units, balancer, line injection, and sludge treatment. The parameters analyzed are chemical oxygen demand (COD), total suspended solids (TSS), ammonia (NH3), total lizard nitrogen (TKN), fluoride, acidity (pH). After the study, the analysis results showed that the data of pollutant levels in wastewater were within the quality standards set by the regulations. However, the results of TKN (Kjeldahl total nitrogen), which is the amount of nitrogen bound to organic matter, were different.
