Abstract

Kemampuan naratif merupakan ketrampilan yang berkaitan dengan bahasa ekspresi (expressivelanguage), termasuk bagaimana menggambarkan atau menceritakan berbagai hal, dan termasukmenceritakan kembali (retelling) kisah atau cerita yang sudah didengarkan (storytelling).Dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di Madrasah Muhammadiyah Bandar Lampung, guru menjadikomunikator yang harus memiliki kemampuan ini. Pesan-pesan yang disampaikan baik berupapengetahuan, nilai-nilai, dan nasehat akan mampu diterima dan dipahami dengan baik oleh siswaapabila ditunjang ketrampilan ini. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan pengabdian meliputiobservasi partisipatoris, dimana tim melakukan pengamatan terhadap kegiatan-kegiatan yangdilakukan oleh mitra, selanjutnya dilakukan diskusi dan wawancara dengan kepala madrasah danguru, dilanjutkan dengan pemaparan materi, feedback, diskusi, sharing pengalaman diikuti denganpraktek, dan terakhir membahas rencana tindak lanjut. Hasil dari kegiatan dapat diidentifikasibahwa menurut para peserta, penguatan guru melalui kegiatan ini dapat dilakukan secara periodikdan berkelanjutan, selain itu guru menjadi termotivasi untuk meningkatkan ketrampilan naratif,termasuk disini adalah peningkatan kemampuan berkomunikasi secara lebih efektif, tepatsasaran, dan berbobot, baik dengan mitra sejawat, orang tua siswa, dan siswa. Selanjutnya paraguru terdorong untuk meningkatkan kemampuannya melalui berbagai perangkat yang dapatmereka akses, misal dengan mengakses internet melalui berbagai media social dan media lainyang terjangkau oleh mereka.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk menentukan strategi akomodasi komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh Siswa Thailand Selatan karena hambatan yang dialami dalam menjalani interaksi sosial di lingkungan baru membuat komunikasi mereka tidak efektif. Hambatan yang muncul terkait dengan masalah identitas budaya, terutama bahasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yang berupaya menjelaskan fenomena secara mendalam melalui pengumpulan data. Informan yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa Thailand Selatan yang belajar di UHAMKA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa informan melakukan strategi konvergensi dan divergensi dalam berkomunikasi dengan lingkungan baik dengan sesama mahasiswa dari Indonesia, dosen, dan masyarakat tempat mereka tinggal dengan menggunakan bahasa Indonesia. Mereka mencoba menyesuaikan cara pengucapan kata, volume, dan kecepatan bicara sehingga mereka merasa nyaman dan membuat lebih mudah untuk memahami subjek menggunakan bahasa Indonesia. Ketika komunikasi verbal dianggap tidak berhasil, mereka juga menggunakan komunikasi non-verbal dengan gerakan untuk mengisyaratkan sesuatu untuk menarik perhatian orang lain untuk berkomunikasi.

Abstract

Hospitality industry is an integral part of the tourism sector in Indonesia. This study aims to examine the marketing communication strategy of Hotel Salak The Heritage in maintaining customer loyalty in the city of Bogor, as one of the major tourism cities in Indonesia, amidst the presence of new hotels that have increased significantly. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data analysis was carried out with triangulation techniques to confirm the results of in-depth interviews related to findings in the field. The results of this study reveal that marketing communication strategies in maintaining customer loyalty are carried out in harmony with the cultural identity inherent in this hotel. HSTH was designated as a cultural preserve by the local government of Bogor. The use of technology becomes the concern for the public relations and marketing division of HSTH to design and process messages through various social media, non-media promotions, and artificial intelligent.

Abstract

Muhammadiyah University prof. DR. HAMKA (UHAMKA) is an Indonesian university that uses social media to spread information in the digital age. This research seeks to comprehend UHAMKA's use of Instagram as a promotional medium. This study employs a descriptive-based qualitative approach to big data, with in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature reviews as data-gathering techniques. The findings of the study indicate that the following factors have the most significant impact on the performance of the content on Instagram: (1) Type of media: According to research, images tend to perform better than videos in terms of engagement and reach; (2) Formats: albums tend to perform better than other formats, such as stories or reels; (3) The theme raised has a significant impact on engagement; (4) Emotion: Content that makes people feel happy, inspired, or amused is typically superior to other types of content; and (5) Theme: the theme raised has a significant impact on engagement. (5) Consistency: It is crucial to be constant with posting frequency and timing to maintain interest and expand reach.

Abstract

MBKM is a program from the Ministry of Education and Culture. This program aims to provide students with a platform to develop their talents, soft and hard skills, and the knowledge they have learned on campus. In taking action based on the motives that exist in the individual to get what he wants; we divide them into two (because of motives) and (in order to motives). With a phenomenological approach, this study uses qualitative methods with in-depth interviews with informants. This study aims to know “UHAMKA Students’ Communication Motives for Participating in the 2022 MBKM Program”. Research results suggest that a causal motive is a driving force behind students' decision to join the MBKM program. It is because the informants want to improve their communication skills and gain excellence from this program. Concerning the goal motive, the students expect to develop skills and benefits from the MBKM Program. The communication motives the students used are persuasive communication motives and interpersonal communication motives. The students have hopes to invite others to join the MBKM program, and they interpersonally communicate to find out information. It will establish the communication motives they convey.

Abstract

Mass media plays a significant role in shaping public perceptions of issues such as sexual and domestic violence. This study focuses on how text structure, word choice, and gender representation in news articles influence public understanding of violence. The aim of this research is to analyze how news about sexual violence and domestic violence constructs narratives and social responses through language use and text structure, and how gender representation affects public perception. The study employs critical discourse analysis based on Norman Fairclough's theory. Two news articles were selected for analysis: one about sexual violence in front of a young girl and one about domestic violence. The articles were examined for text structure, word choice, and gender representation to understand how they construct narratives. The analysis reveals that the news about sexual violence emphasizes the perpetrator's actions and the authorities' responses, using sensational language to create a negative image of the perpetrator. In contrast, the news about domestic violence focuses more on the victim's suffering and power dynamics, with detailed descriptions of physical and emotional abuse. Media shapes public perceptions of violence and gender through word choice and text structure.

Abstract

In the dynamic digital era, businesses face significant challenges and opportunities that demand a revitalization of strategies to keep up with technological advancements and consumer dynamics. The aim of this research is to delve deeper and further investigate the role of social media in developing business communication in the digital age. This study employs a literature review approach as the foundation for gathering discussion materials. The research findings indicate that the use of social media in the context of business communication is not only relevant but also crucial for success and business development in the digital era. Its presence not only influences aspects of online business development but also serves as a key factor in strengthening corporate communication, fostering business collaboration, and adapting to crisis conditions. In conclusion, the use of social media in business communication development in the digital era has a significant impact on businesses.

Abstract

The film "Cinta Pertama, Kedua, dan Ketiga" is an Indonesian romantic drama that explores themes of love, family responsibility, and sacrifice. This study aims to analyze the representation of love in the film using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. The method applied includes analyzing signs, signifiers, and signifieds from several key scenes to uncover both denotative and connotative meanings. The analysis focuses on scenes of dancing, household duties, the giving of a ring, warm colors, a lonely road, separation, and the giving of a birthday gift. The research findings indicate that dancing symbolizes intimacy and freedom, while household scenes represent the burden of emotional responsibility. The ring signifies commitment and family unity, warm colors reflect harmony but also conceal tension, and the lonely road mirrors emotional isolation. Separation and the birthday gift reveal deep sacrifice and enduring memories. In conclusion, the film portrays love not only as a romantic relationship but also as a journey involving personal sacrifice and family responsibility, aligning with Barthes' views on symbolic meaning in visual narratives.

Abstract

Sharenting merupakan salah satu bentuk transformasi pola asuh dengan memanfaatkan teknologi dengan membagikan praktik pola asuh di media sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis praktik sharenting lintas budaya melalui akun YouTube Kimbab Family. Kimbab Family merupakan keluarga Indonesia-Korea yang cukup populer melalui kanal YouTube pribadinya. Peneliti menggunakan metode analisis konten kualitatif Philipp Mayring untuk mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur sharenting yang terdapat dalam konten yang diunggah Kimbab Family. Pendekatan kategori induktif digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk menganalisis unsur-unsur sharenting yang terdapat dalam video tanpa terikat oleh teori atau konsep dari penelitian sebelumnya. Data kemudian diolah menggunakan langkah-langkah model Philipp Mayring hingga diperoleh hasil dan simpulan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya unsur-unsur pola asuh yang diajarkan oleh orangtua Kimbab Family melalui dua video tanya jawab yang diunggahnya. Selain itu, unsur-unsur lintas budaya juga terlihat dalam bentuk bahasa yang diajarkan kepada anak-anaknya, yang mencerminkan adanya perpaduan budaya Indonesia dan Korea.

Abstract

Optimalisasi adalah usaha untuk mendapatkan hasil terbaik dari suatu sistem atau proses, dengan memanfaatkan sumber daya secara efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami pengelolaan portal peduli WNI yang dilakukan oleh Direktorat Pelindungan Warga Negara Indonesia, Kementerian Luar Negeri dalam upaya membangun komunikasi, memberi dan menerima informasi serta mengoptimalkan pelayanan terhadap publik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teori komunikasi public yang bertujuan untuk mengetehui dan memahami upaya yang dilakukan oleh pihak pemerintahan dalam mengoptimalkan komunikasi digital melalui portal. Tujuan penelitian kualitatif adalah untuk memahami perspektif subjek penelitian, bukan sekadar menjelaskan fenomena berdasarkan sudut pandang peneliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengembangan portal yang dilakukan oleh Direktorat Pelindungan Warga Negara Indonesia seperti penyederhanaan penggunaan portal (user friendly), Memberikan benefit serta memudahkan proses lapor diri demi kenyamanan pelayanan WNI.
