Abstract

Cerebral palsy is derived from a word ?cerebral?, meaning a brain, and ?palsy?, meaning disability. Cerebral palsy is a disability condition influencing movements and body positions of an individual. This research aims to analyze the influence of physical-motor and emotional skills of a child with cerebral palsy at before, during, and after being intervened to play percussion. This research is a single-subject experimental research.  The finding showed that playing percussion was proven able to improve the physical-motor and emotional skills of a cerebral palsy child. The average result on baseline 1 period, done within 5 sessions, was 38%. It improved during the intervention period that was done during 5 sessions. It was 61%. The improvement could be seen on the baseline 2, done within 6 sessions. It was 77.5%. Therefore, there was significant improvement between before and after intervention with 39.5%. This research is expected to be the basic research in developing instruments to develop learning or skills for a cerebral palsy child.

Abstract

Indonesia as an archipelagic country should be introduced to early childhood. Therefore, it is necessary to develop maritime insight learning tools for children in coastal areas. The objectives of this research were to develop maritime insight learning tools for ocean literacy in children aged 5-6 years old and to analyze the effectiveness of the learning tools. The learning tools were in the form of semester program, weekly and daily lesson plan, teaching materials, and learning media and were developed by following the conditions and characteristics of the coastal areas. Research & Development with one group pretest-posttest design were conducted in six kindergartens with 80 students at Konawe Utara Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The research also involved education experts, practitioners, and teachers of that areas as research subjects. Data collection instruments used were observation sheets, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The results showed that the maritime insight learning tools is valid for use. The result of trials with t-test showed there were an increase in the ocean literacy skills of students after using maritime insight learning tools with n-Gain scores of 0.69 with the category medium on a limited scale trial and 0.70 with the high category in wide scale trial. It concluded that development of the maritime insight learning tools was effective for improving ocean literacy in children aged 5-6 years old

Abstract

Nowadays, gadgets can be utilized as a tool to stimulate children’ language growth and development. The research is intended to determine the response of early childhood due to the use of gadgets screen as a stimulus for children's language development viewed from behavioristic theory. There are 3 subjects in this research, namely early childhood aged 30-50 months. This research method employs a naturalistic approach. The result reveals that gadgets as a stimulus for early childhood language development viewed from behavioristic theory show different responses, namely 2 children give a negative response and 1 child with a positive response. The negative response is the child experiences speech delays, while the positive response is the child master’s foreign vocabulary and is more expressive in retelling what the child watches from the gadget. Furthermore, it can be concluded that gadget as a stimulus for language development generates negative and positive responses for early childhood, so that adults should be judicious in facing the children by paying attention in some cases, such as timing in using gadgets, content, types of assistance, and giving them many proportions to interact directly.

Abstract

The occurrence of acts of sexual harassment in early childhood, among others, is due to the lack of sexual education and readiness of schools and parents in conveying sexual education to early childhood. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of singing methods and demonstration methods on understanding sexual education in early childhood. The design of this study used an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design by analyzing quantitative data on the effectiveness of the singing method and the demonstration method on understanding sexual education in early childhood. The research samples were Miftahul Jannah Islamic Kindergarten students as the experimental class and Bunga Harapan Kindergarten as the control class. Data collection used sexual education observation sheets and evaluated using N-gain and Independent T-Test. The findings found that experimental class understanding of early childhood sexual education was more successful than control class. Students' understanding of sex education increased by an average of 0.83 for the high category, while the control class increased by an average of 0.64 with the moderate category. It showed that a singing and demonstration methods can improve early childhood understanding of sexual education
