Abstract

Lesson Study is a model for developing the teaching profession through collaborative assessment which consists of 3 stages, namely plan, do, and see. Information literacy is an important skill for dealing with 21st century life. Information literacy determines one's success in terms of finding, selecting sources, evaluating, and using the information obtained effectively. The research objective was to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning model on information literacy through Lesson Study in biology subjects. The research subjects were 34 students of 10 grade at SMAN 1 Kencong, Jember. The research was conducted in March-May 2023. Data was collected using an information literacy test that adapted indicators from the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AACU) (2017). The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative. The results showed that the mean information literacy of students increased from cycle 1 (65.20%) and cycle 3 (82.60%). Increasing information literacy is accommodated by each step of the Problem Based Learning model which can support student information literacy. For this reason, the Problem Based Learning model which is taught through Lesson Study can improve students' information literacy.

Abstract

Mutual cooperation is an important competency of the Pancasila student profile and can impact student learning outcomes. Applying PBL assisted by LKPD is expected to improve cooperation and students' cognitive learning outcomes (CLO). The study aimed to determine the increase in mutual cooperation and students’ CLO using PBL assisted by LKPD in biology learning. This type of research uses classroom action research. The research subjects were students at X1 Umbulsari Public High School, Jember, class X1, 2022/2023 academic year, with a total of 35 students. Classroom action research is implemented through the Plan, Do, and See stages. The study results show that the application of PBL assisted by LKPD can improve students' mutual cooperation and CLO. The increase in student cooperation is evidenced by an average value of 65 (cycle 1), 71 (cycle 2), and 87 (cycle 3). In contrast, students' CLO are evidenced by an average value of 57 (cycle 1), 84 (cycle 2), and 89 (cycle 3). The findings of this study can be a solution for educators to implement LKPD-assisted PBL as an alternative to improve cooperation and students' CLO.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research aims to improve students’ low reading skills. Improving reading skills will promote brain development and imagination, develop language and emotions, and strengthen relationships. Through Fantasy Shadow Puppet, students will be more interested and motivated to learn to read. To obtain the desired research results, a quantitative approach with two cycles was used. Each of the cycles covered four competencies, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data was obtained by observing 20 students of Group B at TKM NU 262 AL KAMAL SIDOARJO using observation sheets. The results of the study showed a very significant increase in the students' reading ability up to 37.63% after learning using Fantasy Shadow Puppets. With Fantasy Shadow Puppets students can ask questions, guess which, then find answers (language development reactions) to the storylines they hear, the span of attention to stories becomes longer because students concentrate on stories, and are able to organize their own abilities because children learn from amazing experiences so that they will build confidence in what is conveyed.

Abstract

Educational reform is an effort to increase in the field of education. Ki Hajar Dewantara with the idea that learning must be student-centered. This is in accordance with the kurikulum merdeka that is being implemented in Indonesia in differentiated learning. Differentiated learning is learning that adapts to the needs of each student. With this kurikulum merdeka, it is hoped that education in Indonesia can increase and produce students according to their individual learning interests. However, the application in domestic education units is still not optimal as in Umbulsari High School which is constrained by teachers who still do not understand the concept of differentiated learning and facilities that are still inadequate for differentiated learning. Teachers who do not understand the concept of differentiated learning do not apply this learning so that the currently implemented kurikulum merdeka is not fully used. The application of differentiated learning gets student learning outcomes after being differentiated learning there is an increase. Problems that occur in education units require more frequent outreach from the government and also monitoring the implementation of the kurikulum merdeka by the ministry of education.
