Abstract

Learning to speak is not easy especially for the learners. The teacher always finds that the students or the learners are often reluctant because they are shy and difficult to express themselves in front of  other people, especially when they are being asked to give personal information or opinions. Besides they are rarely given a chance to practice their speaking. Because of less in practicing to speak English or even never, students are finally afraid of speaking. They are afraid of making mistakes, especially in grammar and pronounciation. To make the students have motivation in speaking, the teacher should be able to facilitate and encourage the students in order to speak English as much as possible. Therefore the teacher needs to create an atmosphere where the students will feel free to use language they learning, so the learners will not get bored in learning English. There were three steps in the implementation of demonstration technique, pre activity, while activity and post activity. In pre activity, the teacher always opened the lesson through greeting, asking the student’ condition and checking the attendance list. The teacher also prepared the materials every meeting. Then the started to introduce the material and explained the demonstration technique. In whilst activity, the teacher always asked the students to bring things that they would present in the following day. Then the teacher asked the students to discuss the steps with their friends how to make something before they started to demonstrate their properties. After discussing, the students began to demonstrate their properties while practicing it directly in front of the class. After demonstrating, other students began to respond their friend’s presentation. In post activity, the teacher observed the students activity and controlled their interaction during teaching learning process. She always gave reward to the best performance students, and corrected the students mistakes. After the students had the implementation of demonstration technique, their speaking ability showed that 75 % scores were increasing. So demonstration technique gave positive effect to the students’ speaking ability. And it can be said that demonstration technique was interesting for the students in learning  speaking. The student’ response toward the implementation of demonstration technique in the process of teaching speaking were good. It can be showed that most of them stated that the use of this technique were really interesting and made the students more active in class. They also agreed that it could help them practice speaking English bravely. It was because the teacher chose appropriate topics selected which was related to the students’ interest and daily lives.

Abstract

Puskesmas melakukan pengecekan secara berkala pada wadah limbah, apabila sudah berkarat atau tidak layak maka perlu diganti.---Community Health Center, Puskesmas is a health service facility that carries out public health efforts and first-level individual health efforts, prioritizing promotive and preventive efforts in its working area. Solid medical waste originating from health service facilities has an impact on health and the environment. This waste needs to be managed per existing regulations so that environmental management is carried out systematically and sustainably. Medical waste that is not managed properly can endanger public health. This is because medical waste contains viruses and germs that originate from medical activities carried out in health services. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach, data collection using in-depth interviews, observation, and document review. Data analysis was used by triangulating sources and methods. Based on the results of observations and interviews, destruction has not yet been carried out using non-incineration, because medical waste is only stored in temporary storage areas waiting for third parties to take the waste. Management of solid medical waste at the Cisoka Community Health Center, Tangerang Regency is not following regulations. The health center carries out regular checks on waste containers, if they are rusty or unfit then they need to be replaced

Abstract

Background: Oral candidiasis is an opportunistic infection in the oral cavity. This infection is caused by the fungus Candida albicans. The most important virulent attribute of this fungus is its ability to form biofilms, which can adhere to mucosa, epithelial lining, organs, prostheses or dentures. The formed biofilm is resistant to antifungal drugs. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Moringa (Moringa oleifera) leaf extract on the inhibition of Candida albicans biofilm formation in vitro. Methods: This type of research is experimental study using post tests with control group design. Fungus used in this study was Candida albicans ATCC 10231. Determination of minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) were conducted by microdilution method. Inhibition test of C. albicans biofilm formation was carried out using the polystyrene microplate assay method. Concentration of extracts used in this study were 12.5%, 6.25%, 3.13% and 1.57%. Inhibitory activity of biofilm was measured using a crystal violet (CV) assay. Results: The results showed that MIC of Moringa leaf extract against the fungus C. albicans was at a concentration of 6.25%. Moringa leaf extract starting at a concentration of 3.13% already has had ability to inhibit formation of C. albicans biofilm. Conclusion:  It can be concluded that Moringa leaf extract can inhibit formation of Candida albicans biofilm, so it can be developed as an alternative herbal ingredient to prevent oral candidiasis.EFFECT OF MORINGA (Moringa oleifera) LEAF EXTRACT ON IN VITRO INHIBITION OF Candida albicans BIOFILM

Abstract

That isMentally-disabled children have below-average intelligence, affecting their cognitive and motor developments, so they are less able to maintain their dental and oral hygiene. Salivary pH is one that affects the condition around the teeth and mouth. Yoghurt is a probiotic drink which can prevent caries prevalence—determining the difference between salivary pH before and after consuming yoghurt probiotic alcohol among mentally- disabled children. This was a quasi-experimental research with the cross-sectional approach. The research design used one group, pretest and posttest. The research variables were salivary pH before and after consuming yoghurt probiotic drink. The research population was 46 men- tally-disabled students of SLB C Dharma Rena Ring Putra II Yogyakarta of 2018/2019 academic year. The sampling technique was purposive sampling on 31 mentally-disabled children. The data analysis was a paired sample t-test. The result of the paired-sample t-test showed that there was a significant difference between the salivary pH of mentally- disabled children before and after consuming yoghurt probiotic drink. The mean of salivary pH before is 7.08, which is based, and after 6.78, which is acidic. The probability value is 0.001<0.05. There was a difference between salivary pH of mentally- disabled children in SLB-C before and after consuming yoghurt probiotic drink.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Post-Taman Pendidikan Quran (TPQ) Tahfidz Program at MI Jam'iyyatul Qurra for the 2023/2024 academic year, particularly in enhancing Quran memorization learning using the Qira'ati Method. This qualitative research employs a direct approach or field research, including observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the program successfully improves students' Quran memorization through key activities such as morning assemblies, Qira'ati and Tahfidz classes, and memorization recitations. To enhance Tahfidz learning in the digital era, the school collaborates with external institutions and motivates students in their Quran memorization. The implementation of the Post-TPQ is carried out to improve the regularity of memorization and discipline among students in using the Qira'ati method and the tahfidz program. Teachers and the school principal play a crucial role in overcoming various challenges. The study concludes that the Qira'ati Method is proven effective in Tahfidz learning, helping students systematically memorize the Quran according to the central Qira'ati guidelines. The principal and Tahfidz teachers acknowledge that while the method significantly supports learning, time challenges persist in meeting the predetermined memorization targets.

Abstract

Elementary school children possess a high risk of dental caries. Based on the Basic Health Research 2018 data, the percentage of dental and oral health problems in the 10–14 year age group is 41.4%. Efforts to reduce dental and oral health problems in children are conducted by health promotion which can be implemented with flipchart media. Flipchart media can be an alternative; hence, elementary school children are able to better understand the importance of knowledge on maintaining oral health. The objective of this study is to determine the effect of promotion with flipcharts on the level of toothbrush knowledge of maintaining oral and dental health in children. This type of research was a quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design with control group. The research location is at SD Muhammadiyah Banyuraden, Gamping, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The research sample is 80 children aged 8 to 12 years. The sampling technique employed purposive sampling. The influence variable is promotion with flipchart, and the affected variable is the level of knowledge in maintaining oral health. The treatment and control groups performed pretest and posttest to determine the level of knowledge of dental and oral care in elementary school children. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test analysis demonstrated that before and after promotion, the two groups owned a significant difference in toothbrush knowledge level (p=0.00). The results of the Mann Whitney test analysis display that the mean rank of children's toothbrush knowledge level using flipchart media is greater than PowerPoint media, which is 58.03> 20.98 so that it can be stated that the use of flipchart media is more effective than PowerPoint media. The conclusion of the study is that promotion by employing flipchart media can increase the level of toothbrush knowledge on maintaining oral and dental health in children.
