Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematical problem solving ability experienced by students so that a relevant learning model is needed to solve the problem, one of them is the Connected Mathematics Project model. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to find out the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving abilities through the Connected Mathematics Project learning model and how students respond to this learning model. This study was a quasi-experimental study in one of the junior high schools in Bandung district in 2018/2019. The samples in this study were students of class VII A and VII E. The instruments used in this study were tests of mathematical problem solving abilities, student questionnaires and observation sheets. Data obtained from the results of tests of mathematical problem-solving abilities were analyzed quantitatively, while data obtained from questionnaires and observation sheets were analyzed qualitatively. The results of the research conducted showed that increasing the mathematical problem solving ability of students who use the Connected Mathematics Project learning model is better than students who use the Discovery Learning learning model and responds very well to the application of the Connected Mathematics Project model. Empirically it can be seen that the mathematical problem solving ability of students who obtain learning with the Connected Mathematics Project learning model is better than students who obtain learning with the Discovery Learning model and positive student responses.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of a driving school program, the lack of teaching materials used in schools, and the difficulties of students in solving cross product problems, as well as learning that is only centered on educators. So it is necessary to develop cross product teaching materials whose learning is centered on students. The teaching material developed in this research is a cross product teaching module based on problem based learning related to mathematical problem solving abilities. This study aims to determine the level of validity, effectiveness, and practicality of teaching modules. The research method used is Design-based-Research (DbR) with the plomp model. Sources of data in this study are validators of media experts, material experts, students, respondents of mathematics teachers. Based on the results of the analysis carried out, it can be concluded that the teaching module developed is valid, small group trials are effective and the response from educators is very practical. It is recommended that further research be carried out on a large scale, using different mathematical abilities and learning models.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the regulation of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia which has issued a driving school program. The needs in the driving school program are the existence of teaching devices in the form of teaching modules to realize the profile of Pancasila students. In learning activities, students' mathematical problem solving skills are still low, one of the learning models to improve problem solving skills is the Problem-Based Learning model and students are still having difficulty solving vector material in vector sub operations, so it is necessary to develop a Vector Operations Teaching Module Related to Mathematical Problem Solving Ability Problem-Based Learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity of the teaching module, the effectiveness and practicality of the developed teaching module. The research method used in this study, namely Design Based Research with the Plomp model. Sources of data in this study are validators of material experts, media experts, and respondents. The instruments used are material expert validation sheets, media experts, ability tests, affective questionnaires, affective observations, psychomotor observations and educator response questionnaires. The data were analyzed using percentages which were interpreted according to their qualifications. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the teaching module developed is very valid, effective, and practical. It is recommended that further research be carried out for large-scale trials, different materials or other mathematical abilities.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the change of the minister of education so that it had an impact on the use of the curriculum in education units where the new curriculum that emerged at this time was the independent curriculum. Where in this independent curriculum, the learning tools used by educators have many changes, one of which is the RPP in the independent curriculum being changed into Teaching Modules. Then the low creative thinking ability of students and the lack of understanding of students on vector introduction material so that the development of vector introduction material teaching modules is needed. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of validity, effectiveness and practicality of the development of teaching modules. The research method used is Design-based Research (DbR) with the Plomp model. The data sources in this study are material expert validators, media experts, and respondents. The instruments used in this research are material and media expert validation sheets as well as effectiveness and practicality questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed using percentages which were interpreted according to their qualifications. Based on the results of the analysis carried out, it can be concluded that the development of teaching modules developed is valid, effective, and practical as well as the implementation of linkages with creative thinking skills in the complete category, and student responses meet positive criteria. It is recommended that further research be carried out on a large scale or using other mathematical abilities.

Abstract

Learning loss is one type of learning crisis, which refers to the loss of previously learned competencies, incomplete learning at the grade level, and the numerous consequences of not mastering learning at each grade level. As a result, attempts can be made to address these issues through advancing information technology, particularly through augmented Reality (AR)-based learning technologies and artificial intelligence with machine learning. This study aims to create and evaluate the effectiveness of the mobile application "MathWiz" as an AR-based learning media for improving students' mathematical proficiency. The MathWiz program is designed in three stages: listen to customers, build/revise mock-ups, and customer test drives mock-ups. Many respondents from several universities in Bandung participated in this study. According to the results, MathWiz has four advantages: (1) it can display detailed objects and learning materials in real-time; (2) interactivity supported by sophisticated and accurate audio text, video, images, and animation features; (3) has the potential to improve students' mathematical proficiency, and (4) has the potential to increase students' interest in learning mathematics and reduce boredom. The results of this study show that learning mathematics can be made more entertaining and memorable through lecturer innovation.

Abstract

This research was moved by the lack of learning tools that suit students' needs and the low problem solving abilities of students in linear equation systems material. This is the main justification behind the need to develop a teaching module for systems of linear equations that is related to problem solving abilities. This research aims to determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the teaching modules developed. This research was carried out in class A-1 of the Nusantara Islamic University Mathematics Education Study Program for the 2022/2023 academic year. This study expects to decide the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the created educating modules. This examination technique is called plan research with the Plomp model. The information sources in this study are expert validators and students. The data collection instruments used were expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaire sheets, and formative assessment sheets consisting of problem-solving ability tests, affective questionnaires, observations in the affective domain and the psychomotor domain. This information is analysed using percentages outlined based on qualifications. Based on the tests carried out, it can be concluded that the teaching module developed is valid, practical and very effective.

Abstract

Latar belakang dari penelitian ini adalah rendahnya aktivitas pembelajaran matematika dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa di jenjang sekolah menengah pertama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana aktivitas pembelajaran matematika dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis yang terdiri atas empat komponen, yaitu fluency, flexibility, originality, serta elaboration melalui teknik pembelajaran berorientasi proses dengan panduan penyelidikan (process-oriented guided-inquiry learning/POGIL). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang mengacu kepada langkah-langkah model Hopkins. Penelitian ini terdiri dari empat siklus yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi, dengan semua siswa kelas VII-F SMP Al-Qonaah sebagai subjek penelitian. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi dan tes formatif. Berdasarkan analisis data tentang lembar observasi dan hasil tes formatif, menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas pembelajaran matematika dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa meningkat setelah menggunakan teknik process-oriented guided-inquiry learning (POGIL). Peningkatan terjadi disemua jenis aktivitas yang diamati baik pada kegiatan-kegiatan visual, lisan, mendengarkan, menulis, menggambar, metrik, mental, dan emosional.

Abstract

The 'Aul method in Islamic inheritance law is used when the total portions assigned to heirs exceed 100%. Mathematics plays a crucial role in ensuring fair and Sharia-compliant distribution. This study, titled "The Implementation of Mathematical Concepts in the 'Aul Method of Inheritance Distribution," explores how mathematics is applied in this method. Using a literature review with interpretative and hermeneutic approaches, data were gathered from relevant sources with the help of data analysis tables and expert validation sheets, then analyzed using content analysis. The study focuses on the practical use of the 'Aul method in inheritance distribution. Findings show that mathematical concepts such as fractions, arithmetic operations, least common multiples (LCM), sets, and ratios are used. This research aims to support mathematics education and provide deeper insight into Islamic studies.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the unavailability of determinant matrix teaching materials that meet students' needs and curriculum standards and students' low critical thinking skills, so a determinant matrix teaching module is needed that complies with curriculum standards and facilitates critical thinking skills. Teaching modules are developed using the Project-Based Learning model. This mixed-methods research aims to determine teaching modules' validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This article is a design research report using the Plomp model. The data sources in this research are material expert validators, media experts, educational practitioners, and respondents. The instruments used are validity sheets for material experts, media experts, description tests, observation of the learning process, and critical thinking ability tests. The results of data analysis in this research concluded that the teaching module that had been developed was very valid, practical, and effective. The developed instructional materials are believed to support learning that emphasizes critical thinking. In conclusion, the teaching materials incorporate exercises that enhance critical thinking skills using case presentations. Furthermore, it is suggested that the module be used as an alternative teaching tool and that further research be done with different data, materials, or other mathematical abilities.
