Abstract

East Flood Way is one of the rivers in Semarang City that often cause flooding. Flood water level in the East Flood Way is affected by the discharge of storm water runoff and tide (rob). Facts on the ground indicate that the flood water level in the canal tends to increase from year to year. One possible reason is the increased flood discharge associated with climate change, besides the impacts of land use changes. This study aims to analyze the impacts of climate change on rainfall characteristics and their effects on flood hydrograph in the East Flood Way. The study begins with the collection and analysis of historical rainfall data to get a change of rainfall characteristics over time. The flood hydrograph was then analysed by HEC HMS. The results showed that in the period of last 30 years annual rainfall and maximum daily rainfall tended to increase of 22.64 mm / year and 2.56 mm / year consecutively, while the number of rainy days tend to decrease of 4 days / year. As a result of changes in the characteristics of the rainfall, the flood discharge of East Flood Way is expected to increase in the range between the 15.10 m3/s (31.5%) for 2-year return period up to 32.28 m3/s (25.5 %) for 200-year return period.

Abstract

Studies of changes in land use is essential in the kemoning watershed Sampangregency of East Java Province, due to changes in land use have an impact on the physicalenvironment, social and economic, including its impact on flooding. The purpose of this studywas to analyze changes in land use, using satellite imagery, GIS and cross tabulation, analyzing changes in precipitation computed arithmatik method to obtain the average rainfallin 2004, 2009, and 2013. Analyzing the dynamics of the discharge in the kemoning watershed2004, 2009 and 2013 FJ. Mock method. Analyzing changes in land use and its impact on theriver regime coefficient kemoning watershed. The study states that the decline in land area forforest, mixed garden, open land, mangrove, wetland, scrub, and an increase in landsettlements, field / fields and ponds. The amount of rainfall and flow rates tend to increasefrom 2004 to 2013, as well as the highest rainfall. Coefficient of river regime generally showpoor state of the watershed from 2004 to 2013. Changes in land use of open land (forests, orchard or fields) into land for settlement leads to reduced surface water infiltration, increase runoff, and reduce groundwater recharge it is very influential on the river regimecoefficient. It is an indicator of the environmental damage has occurred to the hydrologicalfunctions, namely a decrease in soil water availability because of the rain water is wasted, and only partially infiltrated into the ground.

Abstract

The existing drainage system of roads proposed to manage the quantity of runoff from the road only, while the quality remains uncontrolled. In fact the pollutants and waste originated from the road surface contains hazardous substances. Sustainable drainage system (SUDS) concept offers various structures to solve both quantity and quality problems of surface runoff from roads. One of the potential drainage structure is filter drain or infiltration trench develope along the right side and left side of road. It could be developed by retrofitting the existing drainage channel of the road. The objective of this paper proposes the design model of road drainage based on the concept of a sustainable urban drainage system. The model consists of U-ditch channel, reservoir, an infiltration well. The bottom of U-ditch channel completed with a number of holes to make it porous. The channel filled with aggregate to filter the runoff from the road before flow down into the reservoir beneath. The water is then discharged to infiltration well. The model was developed based on rainfall data and other physical characteristics in Ambarawa City, Semarang Regency, Central Java. The channel dimensions and the depth of aggregate filter were designed base on runoff volume. The relationship among rainfall, runoff volume, area ratio, and drainage dimension are obtained. The results concept of sustainable road drainage is obtained in addressing the quality and quantity of rainwater.

Abstract

Coastal Sayung, Demak has occurred agricultural land and mangroves conversion for opening the ponds. Land use change inflict 2 small villages sink, namely Tambaksari (1997) and Rejosari (2004). The small villages are damaged by coastal erosion. This coast is an area affected by tides. The study aims to evaluate the erosion in coastal Sayung, by simulation model with mathematic model. The simulation results are calibrated with March and June 2016 bathymetry data. Bathymetry data is obtained by echosounder to acquiring contour depth. Wind data was obtained from NOAA for 10 years. Sediment sampling results indicate the type of silt (72%), clay (24%), and fine sand (4%), with specific gravity 1.51 – 1.85 tons/m3. The data used for hydrodynamics and erosion modeling with mathematic model. The simulation results indicate the greatest erosion value occurs in the transition season I, which is 94,000 m3. Patterns of erosion strongly influenced by the current patterns of a particular season. When the West, current and erosion patterns move towards northeast, and otherwise with the East. The most eroded villages are Sriwulan and Bedono, then Timbulsloko, and the smallest is Surodadi. The results of this study can be used to support disaster mitigation in the coastal Sayung, Demak. Keywords: bathymetry, coastal Sayung, erosion, mathematic model, sediment
