Abstract

Using analytic and interpretative approaches, this research compares al-Jabiriand Soroush’s thoughts about democracy in Islam. To assess Islam’s compatibilitywith democracy, this thesis will analyze the issues of authority, sharia, andfreedom according to the two scholars. Al-Jabiri and Soroush agree that theconcept of authority in Islam cannot be interpreted simply as God’s sovereignty,but it also concerns human rights and sovereignty. A leader put justice as his/hercentral concern in practicing policies for citizens. To pursue this hope, they alsopropose that sharia should be reinterpreted in order to be harmonizing in accordancechanging circumstances and time. Al-Jabiri has different understandingwith Soroush about the relationship between religion and state. Al-Jabiri seesthat Muslims are free to choose democracy as their political life. He doesn’tagree the integration of religion and state. In this case, he doesn’t agree theimplementation of sharia in the state. Meanwhile Soroush sees that religion hasan important role in the state, so that he agrees the implementation of shariabecause according to him it supports the political process of the state.Muhammad Abid al-Jabiri dan Abdolkarim Soroush merupakan intelektual Muslimyang memandang bahwa Islam kompatibel dengan demokrasi, dan keduanyatermasuk dalam kelompok moderat. Untuk menguji apakah Islam kompatibeldengan demokrasi, artikel ini menganalisis isu-isu otoritas, syariah, dan kebebasanmenurut pandangan kedua tokoh tersebut. Kedua intelektual itu memilikipandangan filosofis yang sejalan tentang ide demokrasi dalam Islam. Misalnya,konsep otoritas dalam Islam tidak saja dipahami sebagai bentuk kedaulatan Tuhan,namun yang lebih penting bahwa konsep ini juga memerhatikan aspek hak dankedaulatan manusia. Syariah perlu direinterpretasi agar sesuai dengan konteksperubahan zaman dan dapat mengarah pada pencapaian tujuannya. Perbedaankeduanya terletak pada relasi agama-negara. Dalam hal ini, al-Jabiri memilikipandangan yang “liberal” bahwa konsep sebuah negara tidak perlu berdasarkanidentitas agama. Umat Islam diberikan kebebasan penuh untuk menjalankankehidupan politiknya, tanpa terbebani oleh rujukan teks-teks Islam yang masihdiperdebatkan. Dengan demikian, ia memandang bahwa penerapan syariah dalamsebuah negara tidak perlu karena sesungguhnya syariah belum penah diterapkansecara sempurna. Sedangkan Soroush berpandangan sebaliknya bahwa identitasagama perlu ditambatkan ke dalam ide sebuah negara (demokrasi).

Abstract

Remuneration emerged as a solution to the issues of corruption that afflicts a number of civil servants (PNS) and officials in the bureaucracy. Remuneration is expected to improve their performance to be better, but in fact the opposite happened. In a number of media reports, many people who work in the government who aren’t absent from corrupt practices, although they have a high salary. Remuneration, which is in the study of literature is also referred to as pay-for-performance system, the use of performance measurement associated with reward (compensation) as appropriate. With the proper compensation, employees no longer think about looking for financial benefits in ways that are not justified by law. On the other hand, the low level of compensation will affect the performance of employees is also low. The implementation of remuneration is one of the governments efforts to lead to good governance, coupled with bureaucratic reform. There is a strong link between the compensation and quality of public services. Improving the quality of public services is also determined by their motivation, but the growth of a great motivation is because of their high compensation. In its development, the remuneration is not absent from criticism. In fact, arguably the remuneration policy and objectives are often misguided. Therefore, governments need to include these policies with strict sanctions if there are employees or officials who make mistakes, disciplinary, and violated the rules.

Muncul gerbang pemikiran dari arus wacana NU dan Muhammadiyah,seperti Islam liberal,Islam pribumi,dan Islam transformatif,adalah bertujuan ingin membebaskan Islam agar mampu menjawab modernitas.

Abstract

Islamic instruction is one of the Islamic ponders that ponders the subject of Islamic instruction. Understanding the nature of Islamic instruction is really contained within the history and logic of Islam itself, since no instructive handle can be isolated from Islamic subjects. Islamic educational reasoning may be a concept that sees instruction based on Islamic lessons and human capacities that must be supported, created and guided in arrange to ended up a Muslim whose whole identity is permeated with Islamic lessons. Philosophical inquire about utilized in Islamic instructive reasoning implies that Islamic instructive logic is profound, efficient, radical and widespread considering that investigates the truth which is the pith of Islamic instruction. The logic of Islamic instruction is based on disclosure and is humanistic, and recognizes boundless and all inclusive truth. The principles and objectives of learning are reviewed from the philosophy of Islamic religious education. Apart from that, there are also many experts who have opinions, especially regarding the definition or understanding of learning methods and also put forward various kinds of learning methods which will be discussed here. Muhammadiyah 4 Balong Ponorogo Middle School has a very good program, namely the Tahfidz al-Quran program, muhadhoroh, and other religious activities. This shows that there are still public schools that still implement Islamic religious education which almost resembles Islamic boarding schools. Researchers are interested in conducting research at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Balong Ponorogo because looking at the phenomenon above, the cultivation of Islamic religious education by implementing a strong religious formation system is a philosophical value of the philosophy of Islamic education.

Abstract

Instilling a leader character with integrity is an important requirement to be achieved in the educational process. The values that are embedded in the personality of the Ar-Rohmah students have a positive impact in contributing to the organization both within the orphanage and in the community. This study aims to describe the concept, implementation, and results of implementing the character of a leader with integrity in the Ar-Rohmah santri organization. This type of research is qualitative research, with a natural approach (natural setting). The subjects of this research were the leaders of the orphanage, the care department, and the head of the ISA organization (Ar-Rohmah Santri Association). Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation of data related to research. The analysis technique used is the Milles and Huberman qualitative analysis model, data reduction, data display, and verification. Checking the validity of the data uses triangulation: credibility, transferability, precedence, and confirmability. The findings of this research are that the cultivation of a leader character with integrity in the Ar-Rohmah Santri Association (ISA) organization begins with systematic and measurable concept planning by the ISA chairman. The results of the planning are then implemented based on daily, weekly, monthly and annual programs using three methods, namely communication methods, evaluation and providing sanctions to students who violate them.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategy of the Ponorogo district government in carrying out various efforts to promote or compare Ponorogo culture as a tourist attraction strategy. Therefore to organize an event, event management is needed. This research method uses the library research method, namely research that collects information and data with the help of various materials available on the internet and libraries, such as reference books, previous similar research results, articles, notes, and various journals. The results of this study discuss cultural events that have been held by the Ponorogo district government. In making a cultural event, the organizer also goes through several stages of event management as proposed by Goldblett (2002), namely from the research, design, planning, coordination, and evaluation stages.

Abstract

Technological changes that are increasingly developing cause different services and facilities in the field of information and communication technology. Youtuber is part of the content creator as a profession that requires creativity with several skills. Another definition refers to the content of content creators who call themselves YouTubers, this happens because the label has a meaning that is considered a profession. This is one of the global professions of creative workers, who can produce monetized content as a form of income earned through the creativity of content creators. This is what most of the general public, especially millennials, interpret about the YouTuber profession. This study uses library research, where researchers use library research methods. The main differences between library research and field research lie in the purpose, function and/or location of library research in each of these studies. In library research, library research is more than just a service function such as: As a first step in preparing a research framework and/or proposal to obtain similar research information. This study aims to determine the change of profession as a YouTuber in the existing community. Thus, based on the results of the discussion, it is found that youtubers as content creators are influenced by many factors, namely ideas, the accuracy of the selection of shooting equipment, and the ability to master the material.

Abstract

This activity has a focus on strengthening the community's role in creating a disaster-resilient village in Dayakan Village, Badegan District, Ponorogo Regency. The main benefit of this activity is to rebuild the community's contribution in the context of disaster management in Dayakan Village. Desa Dayakan is one of the villages which is affected by natural disasters every year such as landslides, flash floods, forest fires, and droughts. The entire Dayakan Village is located on the contours of mountainous land and most of it is forest. The implementation of this service is carried out through several activities including: (1) Socialization of program activities, (2) Strengthening the existence of disaster risk reduction (DRR) forums, (3) Disaster and emergency mitigation training, (4) Establishment of disaster posts in each hamlet, and (5) Establishment of disaster communication and information posts. In practice, the community has been very supportive of this activity through their participation in every activity held, besides that the role of the village government, DRR groups, and external institutions has also continued to be developed. The advice given in this activity is that the village government must be the motor in giving enthusiasm to the community to make the area a disaster resilient village.Keywords: Disaster Resilient Area, Community, Role

Abstract

This study aims to explore the internalization of Islamic leadership character values and to find out the challenges, solutions and results of internalizing Islamic leadership character values. The method used is a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis ethnographic design, which involves semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The subjects of the research were the mentor teacher, and students. Data analysis followed three stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results showed that Madrasah Intra Student Organization (OSIM: Organisasi Siswa Intra Madrasah) activities play an important role in shaping student leadership character, with a focus on developing religiosity, moderation, honesty, trustworthy cooperation, and social care. Students who are actively involved in the OSIM experience improvements in communication skills, decision-making, and self-confidence. In addition, students also show better behaviour in social and academic interactions and are able to apply Islamic values in daily life. The conclusion of this study confirms that the internalization of Islamic leadership character values through the OSIM is effective in forming a young generation with integrity and noble character. Therefore, it is recommended that educational institutions continue to integrate Islamic values into the curriculum and extracurricular activities and provide greater support to coaches in implementing effective internalization strategies. Thus, it is hoped that the younger generation will not only excel in academic aspects but also have a strong commitment to Islamic values so that they are able to face future challenges with high integrity and social responsibility.

Abstract

This study analyses the Islamic educational thoughts of KH Ahmad Dahlan and KH Hasyim Asy'ari and their relevance to the renewal of contemporary Islamic education in Indonesia. Through a qualitative-descriptive approach based on literature study, this study examines the values, structures, and philosophical meanings of the thoughts of the two figures. The study results show that KH Ahmad Dahlan emphasised integrating religious knowledge and general knowledge in a curriculum that is adaptive to the development of the times. In contrast, KH Hasyim Asy'ari emphasised the importance of spirituality, sincerity, and character formation through Islamic boarding school education. Both agree that Islamic education must instil the values ​​of faith, knowledge, and real deeds as the foundation for forming a superior generation. This study concludes that the integration of the rational-modern thoughts of KH Ahmad Dahlan and the spiritual-conservative thoughts of KH Hasyim Asy'ari can be the basis for developing a contextual, integrative, and adaptive Islamic education model to the challenges of modernity without losing its Islamic identity. The researchers expect that this finding will provide a practical contribution to the reconstruction of the Islamic education system in Indonesia to address the persistent dualism between modernity and traditionalism.
