Abstract

Membran keramik merupakan membran sintetik dan bagian dari membran anorganik. Aplikasi mengenai membran ini telah banyak dikembangkan, seperti untuk proses pemisahan gas dan juga pada proses mikrofiltrasi yang digunakan untuk proses penjernihan air. Bahan-bahan yang digunakan untuk proses pembuatan membran keramik adalah kaolin, tanah liat, felspar, pasir kuarsa dan tepung beras yang digunakan sebagai zat pembentuk pori dengan variasi tiga komposisi. Proses pembuatan keramik menggunakan proses cetak tekan dengan suhu pembakaran sampai 1300°C selama 9 jam. Nilai fluks yang dihasilkan dari membran M25%, M35% dan M45% adalah 2440-2520 L/atm.jam.m2, 1680-1760 L/atm.jam.m2, dan 3660 L/atm.jam.m2. Membran M45% memiliki nilai fluks yang lebih besar dari membran yang lainnya. Semakin banyak bahan pembentuk pori yang digunakan, semakin banyak pori yang terbentuk. Hasil dari uji kuat lentur untuk membran M45% cukup rapuh tapi masih dapat digunakan dengan tekanan 0,5 atm. Struktur dari pori membran dilihat dengan menggunakan SEM, diperoleh pori- pori yang tidak teratur dengan ukuran pori sekitar 5 μm. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of dietary processed garlic in feed on the performance, intestinal weight, intestinal length, and morphology of the intestinal villi of broilers. A total of 200 Day-Old-Chick (DOC) Cobb strains (unsexed) with an average body weight of 42 ± 3 g were randomly allocated to four experimental groups with five replications, each containing ten chicks per replication. The treatments were T0 (basal diet as control), T1 (basal diet + 3% garlic paste), T2 (basal diet + 3% garlic powder), and T3 (basal feed + 3% black garlic powder). The variables measured were feed intake, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, final body weight, intestinal weight, intestinal length, and intestinal villi morphology. The data were analyzed for variance based on a Completely Randomized Design. If there was a difference, Duncan's multiple range test was applied. The results showed that the treatment had a significant effect (p<0.05) on intestinal weight, but there was no significant effect on intestinal length and performance. The addition of processed garlic increased the height and width of the villi of the intestines of broilers. The present study's findings suggest that the dietary intake of processed garlic significantly improved the intestinal weight and morphology of broiler villi. Abstract

Litium besi fosfat (LiFePO4) merupakan material katode dari baterai ion litium yang memiliki kapasitas teoretik yang cukup tinggi yaitu 170 mAh/g memiliki tegangan stabil  3,5 V dan ramah lingkungan. Namun material ini memiliki kekurangan, yaitu konduktivitas elektronik dan koefisien difusi ion litiumnya yang rendah. Untuk lebih meningkatkan konduktivitas elektroniknya dengan memperkecil ukuran partikel dengan mengoptimalkan kondisi sintesis (prekursor, suhu dan waktu). Pada penelitian ini meningkatkan konduktivitas LiFePO4/C dengan mengoptimalkan suhu sintering. LiFePO4/C disintesis dengan sintesis kimia padat dari prekursor LiH2PO4, Fe2O3, dan karbon dengan variasi suhu sintering 800oC, 850oC, 870oC, dan 900oC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, dari data XRD dapat diidentifikasi sampel dengan suhu sintering 850oC, 870oC, dan 900oC sebagai LiFePO4/C dengan bentuk kristal ortorombik. LiFePO4/C dengan suhu sintering 870oC memiliki kapasitas spesifik yang lebih baik sebesar 17,6 mAh.

Abstract

Omega-3 egg education was held in Auditorium Jannes Humuntal Hutasoit (JJH) of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, IPB University. The aim to increase public awareness as potential omega-3 egg consumers. There were 40 participants from Dramaga, Bogor living in surrounding IPB university. The educational was conducted in seminar followed by discussions, as well as pre- and post-tests. The topic of the seminar consisted of feed supplement to produce omega-3 eggs, nutrient content of omega-3 eggs, and its benefits for healthy and intelligence, as well as the prospects of omega-3 egg business. Pre-test was conducted before seminar, by distributing questionnaires to participants. The same questionnaires were distrbuted to participants after the seminar (post-test). The test results show that the education has increased participants knowledge of omega-3 eggs as a functional food from 3.45% to 25.34%. The factor influences the knowledge enhance is gender. After educated, the probability for women increase their knowlegde 6,67 times than man.

Abstract

Madinatul Ilmi Surowati Islamic Boarding School has mission to make its students successful preachers who have livestock businesses. Santri were also given facilities for raising goats and cows and were sent to school at SMK Muhammadiyah 5 Gresik in the Ruminant Livestock Department. However, the feed used tends to be expensive to achieve the desired quality and has not optimized local sources of feed ingredients. This can be caused by knowledge of feed raw materials and feed processing processes that are deemed inadequate to make feed. For this reason, the IPB lecturer team held community service with training methods on feed insights and innovative feeding practices, namely feed wafers. Evaluation is done by asking questions before and after the training so that the indicators of success are more measurable. The results show that there is an increase in the number of students who understand forage feed and feed wafers. After the training, the number of students who already understand the technique of giving feed wafers increased from only 5% before the training to 60%. After training. In addition, it is shown by the number of participants being motivated to explore various local feed ingredients to be used as ruminant feed.

Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) merupakan sistem jaringan dengan sensor-sensor tertanam yang terhubung ke internet. Dengan penerapan IoT dalam peternakan ayam, diharapkan kegiatan peternakan ayam menjadi lebih efektif. Ayam broiler merupakan ayam ras yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan daging dan merupakan peralihan dari vertebrata (berdarah panas) ke avertebrata (berdarah dingin) dengan suhu pemeliharaan optimal 23–24 ºC, sedangkan kelembapan ideal berkisar antara 50%–70%. Suhu lingkungan di Indonesia yang beriklim tropis mencapai rata-rata 27–28 ºC, dapat menyebabkan stres pada ayam. Ciri-ciri heat stress pada ayam meliputi gangguan pertumbuhan, penurunan konsumsi pakan, kegelisahan, pengembangan sayap, peningkatan konsumsi air, hingga kematian. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dan menggunakan metode pengamatan dengan satu perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Parameter yang diukur dalam penelitian ini meliputi suhu, kelembapan, pakan, dan bobot ayam. Parameter tersebut digunakan untuk menghitung Temperature-Humidity Index (THI), konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, bobot badan akhir, dan Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) dengan menggunakan metode regresi dan korelasi. Analisis regresi dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang sangat signifikan antara variabel terikat (THI) terhadap variabel bebas (konsumsi pakan, FCR, PBB) dengan nilai P < 0.01, dan variabel terikat (THI) terhadap variabel bebas (mortalitas) memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dengan nilai P < 0.05. Hasil ANOVA yang digunakan untuk mengetahui perbedaan antar kandang menunjukkan superskrip yang sama.

Abstract

Using lithium-ion batteries has emerged as a viable approach to lessen the negative effects of fossil fuel use. LiFePO4 (LFP) is one of the lithium-ion batteries that are eco-friendly and safer than others. However, LFP has a main limitation with the poor rate performance due to its low electronic conductivity number. This study aims to present a bibliometric review of the analysis using VOSviewer of surface modification using carbon coating of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) to improve the challenge of synthesis, structure, electrochemical stability, and performance of LFP. The results of this study showed that surface modification of LiFePO4 electrodes using carbon compounds produced from MOFs improved the efficiency of electrochemical energy storage and conversion technologies. High levels of porosity and customizable characteristics are offered by metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) ideal for surface modification which improves the battery conductivity. The bibliometric analysis showed that research on lithium-ion batteries is currently receiving attention, a sign of its significance and rising popularity. It is suggested for researchers especially Indonesian researchers to contribute more to this field.

Abstract

The high market demand for broiler chickens requires that chicken farmers improve their production performance. Production cost and poultry welfare are important competitiveness aspects in the poultry industry. To optimize these aspects, chicken behavior such as feeding and aggression needs to be observed continuously. However, this is not practically done entirely by humans. Implementation of precision live stock farming with deep learning can provide continuous, real-time and automated decisions. In this study, the you only look once version 4 (YOLOv4) architecture is used to detect feeding and aggressive chicken behavior. The data used includes 1,045 feeding bounding boxes and 753 aggressive bounding boxes. The model training is performed using the k-fold cross validation method. The best mean average precision (mAP) values obtained were 99.98% for eating behavior and 99.4% for aggressive behavior.

Abstract

The implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) systems in the poultry industry has shown great potential in enhancing poultry efficiency and productivity. IoT technology enables real-time monitoring of various aspects of the coop environment, such as temperature, humidity, air quality, and lighting, as well as the health conditions of the chickens. Through connected sensors and communicating devices, data can be collected and analyzed to optimize the maintenance conditions of the chickens, thereby improving livestock health and reducing mortality rates. Additionally, IoT systems can automate feeding and watering processes, contributing to operational cost and time savings. This article reviews various case studies and research related to the application of IoT in the poultry industry. The review results indicate that the use of IoT not only increases operational efficiency but also aids in faster and more accurate decision-making based on precise data. However, challenges such as high initial costs, the need for adequate technological infrastructure, and specialized expertise in managing IoT systems must be addressed. Therefore, a strategic approach and collaboration among farmers, the government, and technology providers are required to maximize the benefits of IoT in the poultry industry.

Abstract

CHEMICAL DEGRADATION OF NAFION MEMBRANES UNDER PEMFC AS INVESTIGATED BY DFT METHOD. An exsitu method has been developed to performance of Nafion's membrane in PEMFC (Proton Electrolyt Membrane Fuel Cells), caused by the chemical degradation of ·OH and ∙H radicals. The change of the chemical structure occurring during the degradation were primarily calculated of the relative energy of reactions by DFT (Density Functional Theory) method approach in the Gaussian software. This study aims to determine whether DFT method with functional B3LYP, PBEPBE, and B3PW91 and base sets 6-311++G can be used in determining the relative energy of a reaction and knowing the difference in role between ·OH and ∙H in the degradation process of the main chain Nafion with the final group are -CF2H, -CF=CF2 and -COOH. The three functionalities applied showed that the ·OH radical has more role than the ∙H radical in the degradation process of the Nafion main chain. In the -CF2H group was shown the relative energy value of reaction 2 is lower than reaction 5, in the -CF=CF2 group was shown the relative energy value of reaction 8* is lower than reaction 11 and in the -COOH group the relative energ value of reaction 14 is lower than reaction 16. By knowing the relative energy of the Nafion main chain degradation reaction with a certain final group and the role of certain radical compounds in the degradation process, the DFT method with functional B3LYP, PBEPBE and B3PW91 and base sets 6-311++G can recommend various modifications of the Nafion as a fuel cell membrane, particularly in increasing of membrane performance.
