Abstract

This article aimed to identify aspects of Old, New, and Future Food Policy before and after the Covid-19 pandemic. before and after the COVID-19 pandemic.  The method used was a Narrative review using a comprehensive and descriptive approach through a literature search. Data searches were conducted through online instruments using Pubmed, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar published from 2003-2023. The search was conducted using keywords related to factors driving changes in the nature of food and nutrition policies based on Maxwell's theory. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected food insecurity supported by restrictions on economic activity and mobility imposed by the government which have led to economic contraction and job losses, which in turn can affect household access to food. Policies after the COVID-19 pandemic regarding food related to aspects of food availability, aspects of food access, and aspects of food utilization as well as the importance of stakeholders in the success of food policy programs in Indonesia.

Abstract

Stunting is a serious health problem that has long-term impacts on children's physical and cognitive growth and national progress. This study aims to explore micro-level social determinants, such as maternal knowledge, caregiving practices, household food access, and health service utilization, that influence stunting in Kediri City, and to formulate context-based strategies to address these issues. The design of this study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method; Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observations of mothers who have toddlers or school-age children. Based on research, the incidence of stunting in Kediri City is influenced by various factors, including: lack of understanding of balanced nutrition, inadequate nutritional intake, malnutrition from an early age, lack of monitoring during pregnancy, Low Birth Weight (LBW), unhealthy eating habits, to recurring child health problems, lack of food variety and limited time and knowledge of mothers also exacerbate the situation. These findings emphasize the importance of nutrition education from pregnancy, improving primary health services such as routine visits to health centers, and continuous monitoring of child growth and development. This study recommends a multisectoral and participatory approach to accelerate the reduction of stunting at the community level.

Abstract

Kebutuhan zat gizi yang diperlukan anak sekolah selain untuk proses kehidupan, juga diperlukan untuk proses pertumbuhan dan perkembangan kognitif anak.Penelitian ini bertujuan umtuk mengetahui pengaruh status gizi terhadap kecenderungan gaya belajar anak usia sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan rancangan cross sectional, besar sampel 32 anak dengan metode simple random sampling . Analisa data menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman (@=0,05). Data status gizi diperoleh dengan pengukuran berat badan dan umur serta indek masa tubuh. dipresentasikan dengan nilai Zscore tinggi badan menurut umur (TB/U) Data gaya belajar diperoleh dengan quesioner. Hasil analisa menunjukkan mayoritas dari anak yang mempunyai status gizi normal mempunyai kecenderungan gaya belajar tipe kinesthetic. Status gizi yang normal mampu memaksimalkan anak untuk berekplorasi, bergerak aktif untuk menunjang prestasi belajarnya. Peningkatan peran orangtua dan peran sekolah dalam memberikan asupan gizi yang adekuat sesuai dengan kebutuhan anak agar status gizinya menjadi baik.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Low nutritional status has an impact on a child's cognitive abilities so that the child's development has been delayed. Negligence and lack of attention in handling and fulfilling the nutritional needs of school-age children has a sustained impact on growth and development in the next period of their lives. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nutritional status on the intellectual potential of school-age children. This study was an observational study with a cross sectional design, a large sample of 32 children with a simple random sampling method, with data analysis using a kendall's tau. Nutrition status data is obtained by measuring body weight and age and body mass index. presented with height Z-score according to age (TB / U) IQ data obtained from tests of intellectual potential. The results use spearman rho showed value 0,016 which shows influence between nutritional status on the intellectual potential of school-age children. There is an influence of nutritional status on the ability of understanding, verbal ability, numerical ability, logical thinking ability and abstract thinking. With early detection of nutritional status and improvement of children's nutritional status can be done so that it is expected that delays in child development can be prevented and IQ increased Keyword:, nutritional status, intellectual abilities
