Abstract

Early Childhood Education (PAUD) is a level of education prior to basic education which is a coaching effort aimed at children from birth up to the age of six which is carried out through the provision of educational stimuli to help physical and spiritual growth and development so that children have readiness in entering further education. 3 Education for early childhood is exploring direct experiences experienced by children through optimizing their five senses. The service is carried out to improve the household economy of the surrounding community who are given training Dolls are made with simple tools such as bottle caps, ping pong balls, and small bamboo which can be used as doll heads. As the name implies, this doll is played using the fingers. The head of the doll is placed on our fingertips / inside. It can also be made from a kind of glove, where at the fingertips the glove is already in the shape of a doll's head and thus we just have to play with it. The development of language or communication in children is one aspect of the stages of child development that should be of concern to educators and parents. Soetjiningsih revealed that children are born with mechanisms and abilities to develop speech and language skills. Language development is the child's ability to respond to sounds, follow directions and speak spontaneously. Wong stated that the rate of speech development in children varies from one child to another and is related to the neurological system and cognitive development

Abstract

Many parents and teachers do not care about the motor development of early childhood. This is because their paradigm only focuses on certain developments. Therefore, as a professional and good teacher, it is necessary to know what methods need to be used in developing AUD motor skills. This service aims to make AUD teachers know what learning methods can be used in the process of developing children's gross motor skills. This PKM was held at YAPIS Merauke Kindergarten and was attended by 11 YAPIS Merauke Kindergarten teachers. This activity was carried out in 4 sessions where in each session using the lecture method and question and answer discussion. In the end, teachers are expected to be able to create more varied learning methods to support early childhood development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the storytelling method on language skills in group B children at Yapis Merauke Kindergarten. This study used an experimental research type, with a pre-experimental research design in the form of a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this study was all of the children in Group B at Yapis Merauke Kindergarten in the academic year 2022/2023 totaling 40 children who were divided into 2 parallel classes namely classes B1 and B2 and the research sample was children from group B1 with a total of 20 children taken using a probability sampling technique with a simple type random sampling. Data analysis used paired sample t-test. The research results obtained t count = 13.2587 greater than t table = 1.72913 which means H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted so it can be concluded that there is an influence on children's language skills using the storytelling method in Group B1 Kindergarten Yapis Merauke.

Abstract

Early childhood education (ECD) assessment helps measure how well learners experience development in their learning. By implementing assessments correctly and accurately in accordance with assessment principles, the results can reliably reflect learners’ abilities and progress. The effective execution of assessment in ECD teaching is closely tied to teachers’ competence in conducting evaluations. As prospective ECD teachers, students in the Early Childhood Teacher Education (PGPAUD) program are required to possess strong competencies in designing and administering assessments. Therefore, this study was carried out to examine the competence of PGPAUD students in developing ECD learning assessment instruments. This descriptive study employed a qualitative data analysis process by comparing students’ portfolios against predetermined criteria. The results revealed that, out of nine students, five demonstrated strong ability in selecting assessment techniques and constructing instruments accurately according to the rubrics; three exhibited moderate competence, being able to determine suitable assessment techniques but requiring improvement in instrument development; and one showed insufficient competence in both selecting assessment techniques and developing assessment instruments.

Abstract

Inclusive education in the Indonesia–Papua New Guinea border region faces complex challenges, particularly in providing optimal learning services for Early Childhood Education (ECE). This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Neuroscience-Based Reflective Inquiry Learning (RIL) model in optimizing neuroplasticity among young children in border areas. Recent neuroscience studies have highlighted the profound influence of multisensory experiences, emotional engagement, and social interaction on early childhood neuroplasticity. This research employed a qualitative design using classroom action research in a border-area preschool in Papua. Collected data through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles & Huberman's interactive model. The findings reveal that neuroscience-based RIL significantly enhances children's cognitive, emotional, and social stimulation. Quantitative outcomes indicated improvements in prosocial behavior (35%), reductions in aggressive behavior (20%), and a decrease in withdrawn behavior (15%). Moreover, the involvement of teachers and parents in reflective learning processes further reinforced the model's effectiveness. The analysis also confirmed that integrating neuroscience-informed practices, such as multisensory learning and trauma-sensitive approaches, supports the adaptive development of children's executive functions. This study concludes that neuroscience-based RIL is a promising pedagogical model for optimizing neuroplasticity in early childhood, particularly in border regions with limited access to quality education. The findings contribute theoretically to the field of neuroscience-informed inclusive education and practically to policy and practice recommendations for teachers and stakeholders in border communities.
