Abstract

Synthesis  octyl  p-methoxycinnamate  substance  as  sunblock,  has  been  done  by transesterification  reaction.  The  starting  material  of  the  reaction  was  ethyl  p-methoxycinnamate  isolated  from  Kaempferia  galanga  L.The  transesterification  reaction  was carried out by reacting  ethyl p-methoxycinnamate with octanol. The product was identified by UV-VIS,Infra Red and Mass Spectroscopy. The result of measurements on erythemic %T at various concentrations demonstrate that octyl p-methoxycinnamate is applicable as a sunblock compound. Abstract

Three compounds (i.e.  benzoylthiourea,  4-nitrobenzoylthiourea,  and  4-chlorobenzoylthiourea) have  been  synthesized  from  ammonium  thiocyanate, substituted benzoyl chlorides, and ammonia as starting materials. The structures of  sythesized  compounds  were  confirmed  by  means  of  ultra-violet,  infrared, magnetic resonance, and mass spectroscopy. All compounds were evaluated for their  analgesic  and  anti-inflamatory  activities  by  tail-flick  technique  and carragenan-induced  paw  oedema  test  respectively.  Substitution of p-NO2 and p-Cl  group  to  benzoylthiourea  increased  the  analgesic  and  anti-inflamatory activities.  The  two  compounds,  4-nitrobenzoylthiourea  and  4-chlorobenzoylthiourea,  were  significantly  more  potent  as  analgesic  but  their  antiinflamatory actvity was weaker than Na-diclofenac.Keywords: benzoylthioureas, p-Cl dan p-NO2substituents, analgesic and anti-inflamator activities

Abstract

Abstract. The independence of food supply in Indonesia is supported by the abundant diversity of natural ingredients from vegetable, animal and mineral sources. Compared to drugs, dependence on food products in other countries is relatively lower, because the fabrication requires facilities and infrastructure that can be fulfilled domestically. The regulatory system managed by the Republic of Indonesia Drug and Food Control Agency (BPOM-RI) has been implemented to ensure that food products consumed by the public are of high quality, nutritious, safe, halal, and affordable and with a taste that satisfies user communities. Circular-worthy products must at least meet the registration requirements of halal aspects, maximum microbial limits and chemical contamination. The growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is also facilitated by the government. Dharma Boga is one of the Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) in Klangon sub-district, Bojonegoro which is engaged in food production for more than 10 years. Some problems related to registration, halal certification and handling of production, especially food additives that meet requirements, has been communicated to the Community Service Team (PENMAS) Faculty of Pharmacy, Airlangga University (FFUA). Alhamdulillah, PENMAS activities with training materials on how to produce and register good and halal food have been carried out with satisfactory results, although it still needs to be followed up with a partnership for the MSME revitalization program in the future. Of the three parameters used to measure participants' understanding of training material, the average obtained more than 30% showed an increase. For the introduction of the halal logo and the dangers of formaldehyde, 100% of the message is understood. The training involved experts and stakeholders in the authority of the East Java Indonesian Ulama Council and the teaching staff and the Airlangga University Faculty of Pharmacy Testing Service Unit.         Abstrak. Kemandirian penyediaan pangan di Indonesia didukung oleh diversitas bahan alam yang melimpah baik dari sumber nabati, hewani, maupun mineral. Dibandingkan obat, ketergantungan produk pangan pada negara lain relatif lebih rendah, karena fabrikasinya membutuhkan fasilitas dan infrastruktur yang dapat terpenuhi di dalam negeri. Sistem regulasi yang dikelola oleh Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan Republik Indonesia (BPOM-RI) telah diberlakukan untuk menjamin produk makanan yang dikonsumsi masyarakat berkualitas, bergizi, aman, halal, dan terjangkau serta dengan rasa yang memuaskan selera masyarakat. Produk yang laik edar minimal harus memenuhi persyaratan registrasi dari aspek halal, batas maksimum mikroba dan cemaran bahan kimia. Tumbuh kembangnya Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) juga difasilitasi oleh pemerintah. Dharma Boga adalah salah satu Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM) di kecamatan Klangon, Bojonegoro yang bergerak dibidang produksi makanan selama lebih dari 10 tahun. Beberapa permasalahan terkait registrasi, sertifikasi halal dan penanganan produksi terutama bahan tambahan makanan yang memenuhi persyaratan, telah dikomunikasikan kepada Tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PENMAS) Fakultas Farmasi Univeritas Airlangga (FFUA). Alhamdulillah kegiatan PENMAS dengan materi pelatihan cara produksi dan registrasi pangan yang baik serta halal telah dilaksanakan dengan hasil yang memuaskan, walaupun masih perlu ditindaklanjuti dengan jalinan kerjasama untuk program revitalisasi UMKM di masa mendatang. Dari tiga parameter yang digunakan untuk mengukur pemahaman peserta terhadap materi pelatihan, rerata yang diperoleh lebih dari 30% menunjukkan peningkatan. Untuk pengenalan logo halal dan bahaya formalin, 100% peserta sudah paham. Pelatihan melibatkan pakar dan pemangku kewenangan dari Majelis Ulama Indonesia Jawa Timur dan para staf pengajar serta Unit Layanan Pengujian Fakultas Farmasi Universitas Airlangga.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mensintesis senyawa metil orto-metoksisinamat (MOMS) yang terbukti berdasarkan uji in silico dapat digunakan mengobati penyakit kardiovaskular, yaitu sebagai antiplatelet. Sintesis MOMS dilakukan dari material awal asam orto-hidroksisinamat (AOHS) dengan metode iradiasi gelombang mikro dan membandingkan profil KLT selama proses reaksi sintesis pada tiga daya iradiasi gelombang mikro tersebut (120, 280 dan 400Watt). Reaksi yang digunakan adalah reaksi metilasi pada gugus OH asam karboksilat dan gugus fenolik dari senyawa AOHS dengan dimetil sulfat sebagai agen pemetilasi. Kondisi reaksinya diatur dalam suasana basa K2CO3 menggunakan pelarut aseton. Pengambilan sampel pada proses reaksi sintesis dilakukan setiap 30 detik pada masing-masing daya microwave dan dievaluasi noda yang terbentuk pada plat kromatografi lapisan tipis (KLT), dan dilanjutkan sampai reaksi sempurna. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesempurnaan reaksi semakin cepat dengan bertambahnya daya microwave. Prosentase hasil yang diperoleh 72%. Berdasarkan analisis senyawa menggunakan spektrofotometer FT-IR, spektrometer 1H-NMR dan 13C-NMR, disimpulkan bahwa reaksi sintesis senyawa MOMS dapat dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan iradiasi gelombang mikro, hal ini disebabkan adanya gugus polar pada AOHS yang dapat menyerap iradiasi gelombang mikro. Semakin tinggi daya yang digunakan pada reaksi metilasi AOHS, maka semakin cepat waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk kesempurnaan reaksi

Abstract

This service activity is motivated by efforts to maintain health after the Covid-19 pandemic. The community carries out preventive efforts by providing stocks of their medicines at home. The culture of storing medicines in the household requires proper drug management to prevent drug damage due to improper storage, drug use errors, and environmental pollution due to errors in handling damaged or expired drugs. The pharmacist's role is vital in providing drug management education to the community. Another preventive effort undertaken by the community is to maintain a healthy body by applying a diet where fast food currently contains a lot of Food Additives (BTP), which can threaten long-term public health. For this reason, people need to get an education directly, so they are wise in using BTP. The solution is to educate the public regarding managing household medicines and healthy food for parents and guardians of RA Al Manshur Play Group (KB) students in Bojonegoro. Activities are packaged in counseling methods and training/practice activities. The expected outcome of the activity is an increase in the understanding of guardian parents, as indicated by an average post-test score of >65 with an increase in score of >10% compared to the pretest. By increasing the understanding of parents and teachers about managing medicines and healthy food in the family, it is hoped that conditions of good health and well-being in society will be achieved.

Abstract

Even though it had been almost five decades, the decline in the prevalence of tuberculosis had still been low due to the rise of drug resistance. Recently, benzoxazinone compounds had begun to gain potential as anti-tuberculosis agents because of their interesting structure and similarity to isoniazid, the most widely used TB drug, which had reportedly experienced many cases of resistance. This research tested the ability of the core compound benzoxazinone and its two derivatives to bind to the enoyl ACP-CoA receptor, which was responsible for the formation of mycobacterial walls. In silico tests were carried out using pkcsm to determine the pharmacokinetic profile, and molecular docking tests using Molegro Virtual Docker were conducted to determine the pharmacodynamic profile through binding to the enoyl ACP-CoA receptor. The selected receptors were downloaded from the protein data bank with the code 2IDZ. The research results showed that the three test compounds had good intestinal and skin absorption profiles, indicating that they could be administered orally or transdermally. The docking results, expressed by moldock score and rerank score, showed that the three test compounds had better potential compared to isoniazid. Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan gizi utama di Indonesia merupakan stunting. Stunting sendiri ditandai dengan tidak linearnya tinggi anak dengan usianya. Upaya pencegahan hal ini, bayi dan balita perlu mendapatkan gizi seimbang dan Makanan Pendamping ASI (MPASI) demi mendukung pertumbuhan dan perkembangan mereka. Program kerja Sosialisasi Gizi Seimbang dan MPASI dilakukan di Dusun Sambiroto, Desa Nampu untuk menunjang SDGs 3 Good Health and Well-Being. Tujuan program ini untuk mengedukasi para ibu akan pentingnya gizi seimbang dan MPASI, mencegah terjadinya stunting. Pelaksanaan program kerja melibatkan koordinasi ketua PKK Dusun Sambiroto dan memiliki mitra sasaran yang terdiri dari 14 orang ibu dengan balita yang mengalami stunting serta para ibu hamil di Dusun Sambiroto. Metode yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest, penyampaian materi, sesi tanya jawab, serta diskusi bersama. Pretest 40% dijawab dengan benar sebelum penyampaian materi dan posttest 80% benar setelah penyampaian Hasil yang didapat adalah antusiasme peserta pada kegiatan, dibuktikan dengan peserta yang menghadiri lebih dari 50% dari total sasaran kegiatan, serta 3 orang penanya pada sesi tanya jawab. Hasil posttest menunjukkan kenaikan pengetahuan tentang stunting dan MPASI.

Abstract

Turmeric is a herbal remedy with a million benefits that has been used by Indonesians for centuries. Tenaru Village, one of the villages, produces a lot of turmeric annually in Gresik Regency. However, this turmeric is sold only as a cash crop or a simple product at a low price. This program aims to provide training for Tenaru village farmers to create innovative turmeric-based products to increase their selling value. Furthermore, this program aims to increase participants' understanding of safe food packaging as part of safe, high-quality food products. The program's success was evaluated quantitatively, showing a statistically significant increase in pre- and post-test scores. The qualitative assessment using Bloom's taxonomy analysis showed an increase in participants' abilities, from not knowing to being able to teach other people in that village. This indicates that the program has had a significant impact on participants' ability to develop innovative turmeric-based instant beverage products.
