Abstract

This research is aimed at knowing students perception toward Quizizz as English learning media as that Quizizz is an educational app that enables students to participate in fun multiplayer class acitivties. This research applied descriptive quantitative method. It was conducted by lesson study platform. The research was conducted at SMPN 23 Makassar. The research participant was 38 students at eight grade first semester 2021/2022. The instrument of the research was questionnaire. Classically students have positive statements of the usage of Quizizz as the learning media for English learning as the shake of its interesting and fun features and impressions, the chance in peer learning to solve some challenging and step by step questions in form of Quiz. Beside that, Quizizz application enable the teachers to handle hybrid learning by effective students engagement. As the suggestion, before applying Quizizz as learning media, the students have to get used to use this application to minimize constraint usage during teaching learning process.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to assess the advantages and responses experienced by students during their micro-teaching course, which serves as preparation for their teaching practice (PPL). The study employed a quantitative research method and was conducted within the English Education Program at Universitas Muslim Indonesia. The study's population consisted of eighth-semester students enrolled in the English Education Department, encompassing three classes. Data was collected using a Likert scale questionnaire, with a total of 60 students sampled from the entire population. Data collection was solely through the questionnaire. The results of the data analysis indicated that students held significantly positive perceptions regarding the benefits of micro-teaching courses, with 77% expressing very positive views. Additionally, students' responses to these courses were predominantly positive.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran sangat menunjang keberhasilan sebuah proses belajar mengajar karena dapat membantu serta memudahkan siswa menangkap materi pembelajaran. Oleh sebab itu, selain materi pembelajaran, guru juga perlu dan di tuntut untuk harus mempersiapkan sebuah media sebelum mengajar. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan manfaat bagi mahasiswa sebagai calon pendidik dengan membakali diri mereka dari sekarang khususnya dalam mendesain dan membuat sebuah media pembelajaran yang tepat digunakan saat mengajar. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan selama 1 bulan, dimana dalam pelaksanaannya terbagi dalam beberapa tahap yaitu: (1) tahap perencanaan, (2) tahap pelaksanaan dan (3) tahap evaluasi. Target kegiatan ini adalah mahasiswa PGSD semester V pada program studi PGSD Universitas Cokroaminoto Palopo khususnya yang telah mengikuti perkuliahan pada mata kuliah Media Pembelajaran. Jumlah mahasiswa yang mengikuti kegiatan ini sebanyak 47 orang. Adapun manfaat dari kegiatan ini adalah dapat membentuk pribadi calon pendidik yang memiliki keterampilan dan sikap serta cakap dalam menyelenggarakan pendidikan dan pengajaran di sekolah maupun di luar sekolah dengan menguasai keterampilan tentang bagaiamana mendesain dan membuat media pembelajaran yang tepat, yang disesuaikan dengan keadaan dan kebutuhan peserta didik, Sehingga, melalui kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan mutu pendidikan yang ada di Indonesia khususnya di kota Palopo. Selain itu bagi mahasiswa, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan mutu profesi sebagai calon pendidik. Oleh sebab itu, mahasiswa PGSD khususnya semester V sebagai seorang calon guru yang telah belajar Media Pembelajaran harus mampu mengaplikasikan teori yang ada dengan mewujudkannya secara langsung berupa praktek membuat media pembelajaran.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to determine whether the cooperative learning Numbered Head Together (NHT) can improve students’ learning outcome in Indonesian course. The subjects of this study were 45 students of class VII A of SMP Negeri 8 Palopo in the even semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. This research was carried out in two cycles, and each cycle consists of six meetings. Data collection was carried out using learning outcomes tests and observations. The data collected were analyzed using quantitative analysis, and the observation data were analyzed using qualitative analysis. The results showed that the average score of students in the first cycle was 40.02, with a standard deviation of 20.21. while in the second cycle, the average score was 68.26, with a standard deviation of 12.00. It shows that classical student learning outcomes have been achieved. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that with the implementation of cooperative learning NHT in the learning process, the learning outcomes, attendance, readiness, and activeness of students can increase.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology plays a considerable role for students in writing their theses. The positive side, it will help the students to find countless number of academic sources ranging from journal articles to complete theses written by other scholars. On the other hand, it will also create a chance for the students to commit plagiarism easier. Unoriginal writing and plagiarism in this digital era can be detected in the digital way by using plagiarism detection software. This paper elaborates how students understand the concept of plagiarism, how they avoid plagiarism, and how they perceive online plagiarism detection service. The data was taken from interviews to MA students during their period of thesis writing. This paper concludes several important outlines to be learning guidelines for the students in improving their academic writing.

Abstract

Pengelolaan praktik belajar mengajar bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa asing (T&LIFL) yang berorientasi budaya masih belum sepenuhnya terkelola dan terstandarisasi dengan baik, sehingga memerlukan perhatian khusus. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki penerapan T&LIFL di enam universitas di Yogyakarta, dengan fokus pada integrasi budaya dalam berbagai aspek. Penyelidikan ini melibatkan analisis mendalam terhadap manajemen program, materi ajar, media pembelajaran, serta pendekatan, metode, dan strategi yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran, termasuk penilaian dan evaluasi program. Penelitian ini mengadopsi desain metode campuran, yang mencakup pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan angket, serta analisis kuantitatif untuk mengidentifikasi pola dan tren serta analisis kualitatif untuk memahami konteks dan makna dari informasi yang diperoleh. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) pengelolaan program T&LIFL belum sepenuhnya mengintegrasikan elemen budaya dengan cara yang optimal, yang dapat menghambat pemahaman budaya dalam pembelajaran, (2) materi ajar T&LIFL masih kurang mencerminkan dan mengakomodasi unsur budaya yang relevan, (3) media pembelajaran yang digunakan belum secara memadai merefleksikan aspek budaya, (4) pendekatan, metode, dan strategi yang diterapkan belum memanfaatkan sepenuhnya model pembelajaran bahasa yang berbasis budaya, kesadaran bahasa, kesadaran budaya, dan pengalaman budaya yang diperlukan untuk memperkaya proses pembelajaran, dan (5) penilaian proses pembelajaran belum sepenuhnya menerapkan penilaian berbasis budaya, meskipun ada beberapa upaya dalam hal ini.
