Abstract

Information systems for companies can be an important step because information systems play a vital role in managing, storing, processing, and accessing information efficiently. Researchers conducted research at PT Saleslab, a company that focuses on digital advertising. In 2022, PT Saleslab launched its own product called Nubiko, which is currently a baby cream product. PT Saleslab has an internal website that provides a central place for storing documents, company policies, guidelines, and other important information. However, PT Saleslab faces a problem in managing outbound product data because there is no outbound package tracking menu. The company still uses the manual method by inputting data on packages coming out of the warehouse using Microsoft Excel. Every product that is going out is scanned and inputted into Microsoft Excel, then submitted to the expedition, which is considered ineffective. This research uses a qualitative method with a Design Science Research (DSR) approach to develop an Outbound Tracking information system. The focus is to develop a website with innovation, ideas, ways of working, technical capabilities, analysis, design, implementation, and utilization of information systems as the main solution.

Abstract

In recent years, the concept of smart villages has gained increasing prominence as a means of encouraging sustainable development in rural areas. This is particularly relevant in the agricultural sector, where the potential of land resources is crucial. Cukilan Village, located in Suruh District, Semarang Regency, Central Java, is primarily an agricultural area, with over 80% of its land designated for agricultural purposes. The village government has expressed a desire to develop Cukilan as a smart village through an FGD process. Based on this background, a community service program was implemented with the aim of designing Cukilan Village as a smart village in stages, to enhance economic growth and prosperity by leveraging the potential of agricultural resources and human resources, as well as accelerating the village development process. The method for implementing this PKM (Community Service) program utilized the Assets-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which involved outreach, discussion, mapping of agroecological zones, as well as land suitability and evaluation. As a result of this initiative, the Cukilan Village government received guidance for an ideal agricultural system based on land resource potential, which serves as a basic component towards the realization of Cukilan Smart Village.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation quality of smart city quick win programs in Manado and Tomohon using the Fuzzy Best-Worst Method (BWM) and the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The evaluation covers 12 quick win programs across six smart city dimensions: smart governance, smart branding, smart economy, smart living, smart society, and smart environment. The assessment uses 12 criteria derived from government smart city evaluation elements, including policy alignment, problem and goal clarity, public benefit, implementation readiness, technological readiness, governance ownership, service performance, monitoring and evaluation, and sustainability. Data were collected from official documents, evidence catalogs, interviews, expert assessments from 20 respondents, and government evaluation records. The novelty of this study lies in the development of a program-level evaluation model that integrates Fuzzy BWM for criteria weighting and TOPSIS for ranking quick win programs. Unlike previous studies that mainly evaluate smart city performance at the city or dimension level, this study positions quick win programs as concrete implementation units. The results show that problem and goal clarity, direct public benefit, and service performance are the most influential aspects in determining implementation quality. The TOPSIS results identify Manado 360 and SmartGov/PONTER as the strongest programs, while the city-level comparison shows that Manado has more consistent implementation quality than Tomohon. This study contributes a structured decision-support model for evaluating and improving smart city quick win programs.

Abstract

Relational databases form the backbone of modern information systems. However, data quality issues, such as duplicate records, invalid formats, missing values, and cross-table inconsistencies, can significantly reduce the accuracy of data-driven decision-making. Conventional rule-based validation is effective for detecting structured errors but has limited capability in identifying ambiguous errors, such as typographical variations in entity names. This study proposes a hybrid rule-based system that combines SQL triggers for structured error detection with fuzzy matching using the RapidFuzz Python library to identify semantically similar records across multiple relational database tables. The proposed system was implemented using six primary database tables, six corresponding quarantine tables, and a centralized error_log table. The evaluation was conducted using a synthetic dataset containing 2,775 records distributed across the six tables. The dataset was systematically generated using the generate_dataset.py script, with various intentionally injected data quality issues to enable accurate verification of the detection results. The experimental results show that the proposed system detected 472 data quality issues, with 297 records automatically moved to the quarantine tables. The rule-based component identified 311 errors (65.9%), including format violations, negative values, and referential integrity violations. Meanwhile, the fuzzy matching component detected 127 semantic errors that could not be identified using SQL rules alone, including 112 duplicate customer names, 7 similar product names, and 5 inconsistent product categories. On the experimental dataset, the proposed hybrid approach detected 34.1% more data quality issues than a rule-based validation approach alone. These findings demonstrate that integrating rule-based validation with fuzzy matching substantially improves error detection capability in relational databases, particularly for semantic inconsistencies that are difficult to capture using conventional validation rules.

Abstract

Technological advancements have driven the use of information systems in data management. However, during system development, there is often an excessive focus on technical aspects and the functionality of system features, while a thorough evaluation of the system’s usability is lacking. This study aims to evaluate the usability of the Family Information System (SIGA) from the users’ perspective, using the System Usability Scale as the primary method and interviews as a supplementary method. Data was collected through a questionnaire with 10 questions and then calculated using the SUS method to obtain a usability score. The results showed a score of 74, which falls into the “GOOD” category with a grade scale of “C” and is within the “ACCEPTABLE” acceptability range. The interview results also aligned with the SUS score but included several improvements suggested by users. These results indicate that the Family Information System (SIGA) can already be used effectively by users, though certain aspects require improvement. Thus, it is hoped that the findings of this study can serve as a basis for evaluating and developing SIGA to optimize its performance.
