Abstract

Student political participation in campus elections (Pemira) is influenced by various factors, one of which is the perception of the candidates' ethnic identity. This study aims to analyze the extent to which ethnic identity influences student voting behavior in Pemira BEM Faculty of Law, University of Jambi. The method used is quantitative research with a survey technique through a questionnaire distributed to 350 active student respondents. Data were analyzed using correlation tests and simple linear regression to examine the relationship between the candidates' ethnic identity and voter participation levels. The results show that ethnic identity has a significant influence on students' voting decisions, so that students' political preferences are not entirely based on the capabilities and vision and mission of the candidates, but also on the proximity of their social identities. These findings indicate that campus political dynamics are still influenced by group identity factors, and more inclusive political education is needed so that voter participation is more oriented towards the competencies and ideas of the candidates.

Abstract

This study analyzes how strategi politik identitas is systematically used by K.H. Rifa’i, S.H. in winning the 2024 Provincial DPRD Election of Jambi in the Bungo–Tebo Electoral District. The main issue of this research stems from the strong influence of identitas keagamaan in the political behavior of Jambi’s majority Muslim society, making religious figures occupy a strategic position in electoral contests. This study aims to explain the process of mobilizing identitas keagamaan, utilizing social networks based on pesantren, and constructing a religious image as political capital that contributes to electoral victory. The analysis integrates the concepts of politik identitas and voter behavior as a foundation to understand how collective identity and psychological perceptions of society work in determining political preferences. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, using interviews, observation, and document analysis as the main data collection techniques. The results show that identitas keagamaan, jaringan pesantren, relationships with local religious groups, and the use of religious symbols become determining factors that shape emotional closeness and political trust among the community. This strategy enabled K.H. Rifa’i to obtain the highest votes and outperform the incumbent candidate. The contribution of this research lies in a comprehensive mapping of how politik identitas operates within a local religious political context, and how this strategy can alter electoral configurations and political support patterns at the regional level.

Abstract

Kegiatan pendampingan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemanfaatan media digital, khususnya media sosial dan website, dalam mempromosikan potensi wisata lokal di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat, khususnya di kalangan generasi muda. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas siswa MAN 2 Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat dalam memanfaatkan media sosial dan website sebagai sarana promosi objek wisata lokal. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini meliputi pelatihan teknis pembuatan konten digital, strategi pemasaran melalui media sosial, serta pengelolaan website promosi wisata. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pendampingan promosi objek wisata di MAN 2 Tanjung Jabung Barat melalui media sosial dan website. Seperti yang kita ketahui media sosial merupakan salah satu cara atau strategi yang baik untuk melakukan promosi objek wisata, hal itu dikarenakan banyak dari generasi Z menggunakan media sosial seperti Facebook, Instagram, Twitter dan Blog. Hasil analisis dan pengamatan tim pengabdian menunjukkan jika media sosial merupakan sarana informasi dan promosi yang sangat sesuai untuk wisatawan generasi Z di bidang pariwisata dan Instagram, Facebook dan Twitter merupakan pilihan yang utama. Luaran dari pengabdian ini berupa berita online, terbitnya artikel pada juranal Nasional, Pembuatan Video Pengabidan dan Presenter pada Seminar Nasional.
