Abstrak Optimalisasi Peran Kader Kesehatan dalam Mencegah Penyakit Arteri Perifer (PAP) melalui Edukasi Faktor Risiko pada Penderita Diabetes Mellitus (DM) dilaksanakan di Desa Pandansari, Kecamatan Poncokusumo, Kabupaten Malang. Program ini dilakukan karena mitra masih menghadapi masalah seperti kurangnya pengetahuan kader tentang faktor risiko PAP, keterampilan pemantauan yang belum optimal, serta terbatasnya upaya pencegahan dini pada penderita DM. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan kapasitas kader kesehatan dalam mengenali serta mengedukasi masyarakat terkait risiko terjadinya komplikasi PAP pada pasien DM. Bentuk kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui ceramah interaktif, diskusi, simulasi, praktik langsung, serta evaluasi pretest dan post-test untuk memperkuat pengetahuan dan melatih kader tentang faktor risiko PAP pada penderita DM. Hasil evaluasi, terjadi peningkatan signifikan pada aspek pengetahuan peserta, yaitu sebesar 55,17%, dari skor rata-rata 52,73 (kategori cukup) menjadi 81,82 (kategori baik). Sementara itu, pada aspek keterampilan pemantauan PAP, terjadi peningkatan sebesar 44,66%, dari nilai rata-rata praktik 58,52 (perlu pembinaan lanjutan) menjadi 84,66 (kategori kompeten). Melalui kegiatan ini, kader kesehatan diharapkan dapat berperan lebih aktif dalam memberikan edukasi dan melakukan pencegahan PAP pada penderita DM di masyarakat. Abstract The Optimization of the Role of Health Cadres in Preventing Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) through Risk Factor Education for Patients with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) was carried out in Pandansari Village, Poncokusumo Subdistrict, Malang Regency. This program was implemented because the partner still faced several issues, such as limited knowledge of cadres regarding PAD risk factors, suboptimal monitoring skills, and inadequate early prevention efforts for patients with DM. The purpose of this activity was to enhance the capacity of health cadres in identifying and educating the community about the risks of PAD complications among DM patients. The activities were conducted through interactive lectures, group discussions, simulations, hands-on practice, as well as pre-test and post-test evaluations to strengthen knowledge and train cadres on PAD risk factors in DM patients. The evaluation results showed a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge, with an increase of 55.17%, from an average score of 52.73 (fair category) to 81.82 (good category). Meanwhile, in terms of PAD monitoring skills, there was an improvement of 44.66%, from an average practice score of 58.52 (requiring further guidance) to 84.66 (competent category). Through this program, health cadres are expected to play a more active role in providing education and implementing PAD prevention efforts for DM patients in the community.
