Abstract

The percentage of the incidence of anxiety experienced by premenopausal women worldwide is still relatively high (77%). About 25% of anxiety occurs during menopause, with various symptoms caused by individuals, depending on psychological and emotional. This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge and family support with anxiety incidence in premenopausal women at the Pekik Nyaring Community Health Centre, Central Bengkulu Regency, in 2022. The research design used a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all women aged 45-55 years in 12 Integrated Post for Non-Communicable Diseases or Pos Pelayanan Terpadu Penyakit Tidak Menular (Posbindu PTM ) Pekik Nyaring Community Health Centre, totalling 981 people. The sample in this study was 78 respondents taken by purposive sampling, and the number of samples distributed in each Posbindu was not equal. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis using Chi-Square. The results showed that 78 premenopausal women (53.8%) experienced moderate and severe anxiety, (59%) had poor knowledge, and (65.4%) had poor family support. There was a relationship between knowledge and anxiety in premenopausal women with p=0.002 < 0.05 and OR = 5.0. It means that premenopausal women with poor knowledge were 5 times more likely to experience moderate and severe anxiety. There was a relationship between family support and premenopausal women's anxiety, p=0.000 < 0.05 and OR = 8.4. It means that premenopausal women who receive family support were at least 8 times more likely to experience moderate and severe anxiety. Suggestions for the Community Health Centre, in this case, the Head of the Community Health Centre, can optimise health workers to create innovative programs related to women's preparation for menopause

Abstract

The early intervention detection stimulation program for Stimulation, Detection, and Early Intervention of Growth and Development or Stimulasi, Deteksi dan lntervensi Dini Tumbuh Kembang Anak (SDIDTK) is a comprehensive and quality child development program. SDIDTK success indicator in Bengkulu city is still 70.07%, which is not sufficient to achieve the indicator applied by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, which is 90% of the total population. This study aimed to determine the factors that influence the low implementation of SDIDTK at the Community Health Centre in Bengkulu City. This study used a qualitative research method with in-depth interviews. Informants were the head of the community health centres or Pusat Kesehatan Masyarakat (Puskesmas), coordinator midwives, and midwives who handled the SDIDTK program at the Penurunan, Anggut Atas, and Lingkar Barat Community Health Centre. This study found that the number of health workers in 1 puskesmas was lacking, SDIDTK program holders in 2 Puskesmas had not received training, in 2020, 2 puskesmas did not run integrated healthcare centres or Pos Pelayanan Terpadu (Posyandu) and SDIDTK due to COVID-19. The availability of facilities and infrastructure was quite good, but it had not been used optimally by health workers. There was already a budget from the Health Operational Assistance or Bantuan Operasional Kesehatan (BOK) for health workers' transportation when they visited the field. It is expected that puskesmas will provide opportunities for health workers, especially midwives, to receive training in the implementation of SDIDTK.

Abstract

Background: The growth and development period of infants needs special attention because the process is very fast. There are still toddlers who experience gross motor and fine motor disorders. World Health Organization (WHO) 2016 globally states that around 20-40% of infants aged 0-2 years experience problems with delays in the development process, 5-25% of toddlers who experience gross motor and fine motor disorders. The impact of delays in infant gross motor development causes a decrease in creativity in the adaptation period while the impact of delays in fine motor development causes obstacles in the child's learning process. Efforts that can be made in optimizing the growth and development of fine motor and gross motor in infants in addition to nutrition provided by the mother and one of the other ways needs stimulation. The combination of stimulation of baby massage and lavender essential oil is one of the stimulations to improve gross motor and fine motor in infants aged 3-12 months. Objective: Proving the effect of a combination of baby massage stimulation and lavender essential oil on improving gross motor and fine motor in infants aged 3-12 months. Methods: Pre-experimental quantitative research design with one group pretest-postest design. Sample 40 infants aged 3-12 months. Analysis used to assess the effect on the improvement of gross motor and fine motor in 2 PMB using t test. Results: Hypothesis testing in this study using the Wilcoxon test. Obtained a probability value (p value) of (p value) 0.02 or < 0.05, which means that there is a combined effect of baby massage stimulation and lavender essential oil on improving gross motor and fine motor in infants aged 3-12 months. The intervention was given for 4 weeks, twice a week the intervention was given a combination of baby massage and lavender essential oil, then an evaluation was carried out using the Pre-Developmental Screening Questionnaire (KPSP), consisting of 10 assessment items, starting from gross motor, fine motor, socialization and independence assessments. as well as speech and language skills. Conclusion: The combination of baby massage stimulation and lavender essential oil has an effect on improving gross motor and fine motor in infants aged 3-12 months. Suggestion: parents who have babies are expected to routinely provide baby massage stimulation.

Abstract

Background: Prolonged labor can occur due to malnutrition during the first stage of labor. During the labor process, women need foods rich in sugar, such as dates milkshake, to optimize uterine contractions. This study aimed to explore the effect of dates milkshake on the duration of the first stage of labor.Method: This study was a quasi-experiment conducted from August to November 2021 in Bengkulu City, Indonesia using a posttest-only design with nonequivalent groups. Participants included 34 primigravida and multigravida women who were then divided into intervention group who received dates milkshake and control group who received local fruit juice, each with 17 participants. Daily routine consumption and the partographs during labor were observed. The data obtained was analyzed using Mann Whitney and Cochran’s and Mantel-Haenszel.Results: The duration of labor in mothers given dates milkshake averaged 4.1 hours (± 0.697), ranging from 3 to 5 hours; meanwhile the control group averaged 7 hours (± 1.904), ranging from 5 to 11 hours. There was a significant difference in the duration of labor between mothers given dates milkshake and local fruit juice (p= 0.000, OR=4.0).Conclusions: Dates milkshake has an effect on shortening the duration of the first stage of labor. Dates milkshake can be used as a viable food choice for pregnant women to help maintain and increase maternal energy availability during childbirth.
