Abstract

The study was conducted to investigate composition of fish catching around palm fiber fish aggregating device (FAD). This research was performed in waters of Nagan Raya District, Indian Ocean on October until December 2018. Palm fiber FAD and coconut fronds FAD was set up at 20-30 m depth. The The research is using survey method and to collecting data, experimental fishing was used to collect data with hand line fishing gear. The results show the types of fish catching in palm fiber FAD is Lepturacanthus savala, Selar crumenopthalmus, Selaroides leptolepis, Rastrelliger kanagurta and  Sardinella lemuru. For coconut fronds FADs, composition of fish catching is Selaroides leptolepis, Rastrelliger kanagurta, Sardenella sirin, Caranx sp, Terapon jarbua, Chorinemus tala dan Upenius mullocensin. Total of fish cacthing in palm fiber FADs is 70 fish. While at coconut fronds FADs is 29 fish. Based on descriptive analysis, the palm fiber FADs is more effective than coconut fronds FADs. This study is very important in the production of fish catching around FADs.

Abstract

Snakehead (Channa sp.) was one of the superior freshwater fish species native to Indonesia that has been successfully domesticated. The increasing demand for snakehead fish on the market has resulted in the addition of cultivated land and water use. Aquaponics technology was a combination of fish farming and plants that grow without soil media. The aim of this research was to determine the best composition of probiotics that can be used in aquaponic technology to optimize growth rate and feed conversion of snakehead fish (Channa sp.). This research used an experimental method. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design with four probiotic combination treatments and each treatment was repeated three times. The results showed that awarding of different probiotic compositions in the aquaponic system resulted in a spesific growth rate that was not significantly (P>0.05) different between treatments. The highest value of spesific growth rate were in the treatment of probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae with a value of 4.11%/ day. Awarding of different probiotic compositions in the aquaponic system results in significantly (P<0.05) different feed conversion ratio values. The best feed conversion ratio values were in the treatment of probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae with a value of 1.78. The conclusion of this study was the composition of probiotic Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae was the best probiotic composition to increase the spesific growth rate and feed conversion ratio of snakehead fish.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai kemuluran serat alami. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen, dengan langsung melakukan pengujian sampel tali dengan alat streng tester. Nilai kemuluran tertinggi ada pada serat daun nenas  64,1% dan yang terendah dari serat pohon pisang sebesar 6,5%. Nilai kemuluran yang paling rendah sangat efektif digunakan sebagai alat penangkapan ikan, karena kemuluran yang tinggi akan mengakibatkan perubahan konstruksi jaring, dalam hal ini ukuran mata jaring akan berubah sehingga ikan yang tertangkap dapat lolos dari jaring dengan mudah. Kata kunci : Kemuluran, streng tester, serat alami

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di tempat pendaratan ikan di Desa Mekar Sari, Kecamatan Merbau, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis, kapasitas dan tingkat pemanfaatan fasilitas tempat pendaratan ikan dengan menggunakan metode survei. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis fasilitas yang ada di tempat pendaratan ikan berupa dermaga, kolam pelabuhan, dolphin, pelantar, gudang pengolahan ikan, rumah, dan gudang penyimpanan alat tangkap. Kapasitas dan tingkat pemanfaatan dermaga berkisar antara 9,47-13,37 unit dan 7,48-31,66%. Dalam kolam pelabuhan dengan kapasitas 0,7 m dan tingkat pemanfaatan 140%. Sedangkan untuk pelantar memiliki kapasitas antara 56,26-126,34 kg dengan tingkat pemanfaatan 11,9-31,66%. Kata kunci : Pelantar, Kapasitas, Tingkat Pemanfaatan Fasilitas.

Abstract

The quality of the catch can be seen from the fish storage container used to maintain its temperature. An insulated storage area can maintain ice resistance during the operation of fishing gear, as well as during the transportation of the catch to the fish landing site. Generally, fishermen use fish storage containers made of fiber with insulation in the form of polyurethane. Some fish storage containers are made from polystyrene-insulated styrofoam. This research aims to determine how optimal cooling is using coconut fiber and sugar cane bagasse insulation. The method used in this research was an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one control (Styrofoam cooler box), two treatments (Coconut fiber insulated cooler box and sugarcane bagasse), and three repetitions. The dimensions of the coolbox are the same as those on the market, namely 42 cm x 26 cm x 23 cm and a thickness of 2 cm. The lowest temperature of the coolbox made from coconut fiber insulation, 17.7 °C, was reached after the 70th minute. The bagasse was only able to reach the lowest temperature of 19.4°C, achieved in the 60th minute. Temperature stability in the coconut fiber coolbox reached 2 hours 10 minutes (130 minutes) from 80-200 minutes, while the bagasse coolbox reached 3 hours 40 minutes (220 minutes) from 70-280 minutes

Abstract

Pulau Banyak and Pulau Banyak Barat Districts. play an active role in advancing capture fisheries production, this can be seen from the larger number and size of vessels operated so as to produce larger capture fisheries production. To land and sell their catch, many private entrepreneurs do it in their private holdings, not in government-owned fishing ports. This Tangkahan generally has relatively little land and facilities, but the activities and production are relatively large. This study aims to analyze the catch landed on the Tangkahans of Banyak Island, Aceh Singkil and make a map of the location of the Tangkahans in Pulau Banyak, Aceh Singkil. The method used is in 2 stages, the first stage is conducting a field survey using interview questionnaires, and the second stage is collecting field data (coordinate points of Tangkahan, types of catches and aerial photos of Tangkahan Island many). The location of the research is on Banyak Island, Aceh Singkil. The results of the study showed that there were 12 Tangkahans in Pulawa many, of which 8 units were in Baguk Village and 4 units were in Balai Desai. The catches that landed consisted of Squid, Dencis Fish, Tuna, Coral Anchovy and others. This is because the fishing gear used by Pulau Banyak fishermen is dominated by Bagan.

Abstract

One of the important economic commodities in North Sumatra Province is Tuna, Mackarel tuna and Skipjack tuna. Skipjack tuna (Kadsuwonus pelamis) is a type of fish that is easily damaged. The process of fish damage begins after catching until the product reaches consumers. The aim of this research is to evaluate raw materials at PT. Samudra Perkasa Abadi Sibolga for histamine and organoleptic parameters. The results obtained were that the spinal temperature of fresh skipjack tuna in May obtained an average value was -2.9 ◦C and in June an average value was -3.1 ◦C. The temperature values in these two months meet SNI 7788:2013. The histamine content in May obtained an average value of 9.6 ppm and in June an average value was 10.7 ppm. The histamine value in the second month of observation met the SNI 2729:2013 threshold. The organoleptic quality values from May to June obtained an average value of 8 for the parameters of eyes, gills, body surface mucus, smell and texture, while for the meat parameters a value of 9 was obtained. The results of the organoleptic values obtained were in accordance with the SNI 2729:2013 threshold. The results obtained show that the raw materials used are of very good quality

Abstract

ABSTRACT Fish quality is very important to determine the selling price of fish in the market; therefore, it is necessary to have special handling in storage so that the quality of fish does not decrease. Fishermen usually use styrofoam-insulated coolboxes to maintain fish quality. This study aims to determine the lowest temperature and temperature stability. This research was conducted in April-June 2022 at the Integrated Fisheries Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Teuku Umar University. The method used is a quantitative experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 1 control, 2 treatments, and 3 replicates. Tests were carried out by measuring the temperature of the coolbox room filled with 3 kg of bulk ice and looking at temperature changes within 9 hours. The lowest temperature test results contained in the rice husk coolbox were 17.4°C, the corn cob coolbox had the lowest temperature of 19.3°C, and in the styrofoam coolbox (control), the lowest temperature obtained was 13.6°C. The temperature comparison between the styrofoam coolbox, rice husk insulation coolbox, and corn cob insulation coolbox shows that, in terms of the lowest temperature point, the styrofoam coolbox is still better than the rice husk and corn cob coolbox, while the rice husk coolbox is still lower in temperature than the corn cob coolbox.

Abstract

Meukek sub-district is one of communities located is south Aceh regency, which is located on the coast of the indian ocean because of the great potential and marine fisheries, so many people work as capture fisheries fishermen. The purpose of this research was to analyze the factors that influence of motorboat fishermen catch in meukek regenty. The research method was a quantitative descriptive with a survey approach. Total of samples was 34 respondents. The data analysis used was multiple linear regretion analysis. The result was factor of working capital (X1), labor (X2), fishing times (X3) and mileage (X4) has simultaneously significantly affected of the catches partially, only factor of labor (X2), mileage (X4) has significantly affected of the catchs, while factors of working capital (X1) and fishing times (X2) has not significantly effected of the catchs.

Abstract

The Department of Maritime Affairs, Fisheries and Food (DKPP) of Nagan Raya Regency is a fully authorized body in managing all fisheries, marine and food activities in Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh Province. One important factor in supporting the productivity of capture fisheries is fuel oil (BBM) for small and medium fishermen. The fulfillment of fuel for fishermen is influenced by the length of stay at sea, the distance to the fishing ground, the size of the vessel, the type of equipment used, the vessel used and the fuel used. The fuel recommendation information system for fishermen is influential as the carrying capacity of information effectiveness between the service and fishermen. The information system itself is a group of elements that are interconnected or interact to form a single unit with an approach using quantitative methods and participatory observation. make a solution to the DKPP Nagan Raya as an effort to create a BBM Information System Application with the aim of facilitating an information system or fuel data collection, data collection of fishermen, and data collection of fishermen's catches. The BBM Information System application with a click using the fisherman's android will be greatly facilitated in the BBM recommendation process because it is in accordance with the quota received. In addition, this application method also makes it easier to monitor and report fuel distribution to fishermen, because everything can be integrated and can be monitored directly by the Marine Fisheries Service of Nagan Raya Regency.
