Abstract

Boilers (Boiler) is a major component in the plant in which there are pipes steam boiler that serves to drain the water to be heated by the flame or hot gases to be steam. Boiler pipes are arranged into a single entity, starting from the steam drum, the combustion chamber (furnace / burner), superheater and economizer. The existing pipe in the boiler is a vital component, because the pipe is used as a container to drain the vapor or liquid throughout the existing system with high operating temperatures. It depends on the type of material engineering digunakan.Pipa boiler operating at high temperature and pressure in the long term is a problem that often occurs is in the form of leaks that resulted in the power plant should cease to operate as it did on 2 Banten Labuan power plant. Boiler pipe leakage at this plant occurs in areas of cold pipe boiler superheater in the form of fracture mechanics and surface defects due to the weld metal splashes. To overcome this, a boiler pipe to be analyzed by observing the microstructure, chemical composition analysis and micro hardness tester with Vickers method to determine the cause of the leak. In the sample cold pipe fracture failure occurs supeheater tired (fatigue failure) that is indicated on the beach mark (the beach) and striation. From the results shows that the chemical composition of the material cold pipe superheater in accordance with the standard specifications (ASTM A210 Grade C), so that failure and damage of all pipes that are not investigated due to the specifications of the material are not standardized.

Abstract

Heat exchanger is a device used to transfer heat from one fluid to another fluid. One in Rembang heat exchanger is a condenser. The condenser serves to condense low pressure steam turbine output by using sea water as coolant fluid. The condenser is a turbine auxiliary equipment which, if having problems then it will result in generation efficiency. In the design of the contractor takes 4 CWP to supply cooling water condenser, but the reality on the ground, only 3 CWP operated. Therefore it is necessary to know how the effects of these operations on the performance of the condenser. The method of analysis is done by calculating the performance of the condenser is based on the current operating parameters of the performance test. By knowing the conditions and the actual performance of the condenser, it will be able to increase plant efficiency.

Abstract

The operation of a power plant, reliability is one of the factors that is maintained. One of the factors that have a very important role in the operation system reliability PLTU air instrument is a system where the system is working to provide air supply pressured performing for the operation instrument controls Honda pneumatic. Suralaya Power Plant In unit 1-4 this system is equipped with three for each unit and this in complete system backup system of air service to anticipate if there was a problem in the air instrument. Current, if there is any drop pressure because bermasalahnya air conditioning system instrument backup air instrument from the air opened by manual service by the operators because isoting valve is still a valve manual work so that they will have a response inadequate. To improve response safety backup from the air service can be done by using valve control that worked independently automatically without the control of operator. Planning process valve control is done in implementing the aspects the choice of valve, determining the values settings, reliability operation, and security operations valve control.

Abstract

The heat treatment is a combination of heating and cooling operations to metals or alloys in solid state at a certain time interval detention. This heat treatment is given on the metal or alloy to obtain certain properties. The heat treatment process varies depending on the purpose of the provision of heat treatment itself, which commonly refers to the mechanical properties and microstructure of the material. In this study, we want to know is the effect of heat treatment on mechanical properties and microstructure happened. The heat treatment process is carried out by the method of quenching and tempering method, performed at the beginning of the workpiece AISI4340 and medium carbon steel and mechanical testing is performed tensile test, hardness test rockwell, and testing of microstructure.

Abstract

Pada boiler terdapat desuperheater yang berfungsi untuk mengontrol temperatur uap yang keluar dari superheater Control valve digerakkan oleh actuator dan minyak hidrolik sebagai penggerak buka tutupnya valve, pada material actuator ditemukan suatu komponen yang mengalami kegagalan material berupa patahnya suatu stem. Untuk mengetahui akar penyebab dan mekanisme kegagalan stem, maka dilakukan studi serta penelitian yang meliputi pengamatan visual dan analisis dari beberapa pengujian seperti pengujian kekerasan, pengujian metalografi guna mengetahui struktur mikro, pengujian fraktografi untuk melihat struktur makro dan pengujian SEM – EDS mapping
