Abstract

Background: Upper back pain (UBP) is stiffness in the back that starts from the area behind the neck to the waist, which can cause pain. One type of work that is at risk is loading and unloading work. Loading and unloading workers at the port manually carry out their work with loads that exceed the limits recommended by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Manual handling activities carried out continuously can risk causing complaints of pain in the upper back. This research aims to determine the recommended weight limit (RWL) and Lifting index (LI) values ​​on loading and unloading workers, as well as to analyze the Ergonomic Risk Level in manual handling Activities using the NIOSH Lifting Equation method with UBP complaints. Methods: This research employs an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design. The research sample employed an exhaustive sampling technique, involving as many as 50 participants. Measurement of ergonomic risk used questionnaires and the NIOSH Lifting Equation. Data analyzed using Spearman correlation test. Results: Based on the calculation of Lifting Index (LI) value, most respondents work with a moderate risk level (1-<3), namely 33 respondents (66%) and assesment result of UBP complaints used a questionnaire showed that 19 respondents (38%) stated that they often experienced UBP complaints due to their work activities, 14 respondents (28%) stated that they always felt UBP complaints, and 3 respondents (6%) never experienced complaints. Spearman correlation test obtained ρ-value = 0.000 (<0.05) and r = 0.727. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the risks of manual handling work and complaints of upper back pain in loading and unloading workers (TKBM). This relationship is strong and positive (unidirectional), meaning that the higher the risk of manual handling work, the higher the complaints of upper back pain experienced. If the manual handling risk value can be reduced, workers can avoid the risk of complaints of upper back pain.

Abstract

Permasalahan gizi pada balita masih menjadi prioritas untuk ditangani. Anak yang mengalami kekurangan gizi merupakan faktor penyebab utama dari kematian anak, timbulnya penyakit dan kecacatan. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan status gizi balita dengan pemberian makanan tambahan (PMT). PMT dapat diolah menggunakan bahan makanan berbasis pangan lokal dengan harga yang terjangkau. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari PMT lokal terhadap perubahan status gizi balita. Literature review diperoleh dari pencarian database Google Scholar. Pencarian artikel dibatasi dari 2018-2023 dengan kata kunci pengaruh PMT Lokal terhadap Perubahan Status Gizi. Artikel ilmiah  yang  digunakan  dalam penelitian  ini berjumlah 10 tentang pengaruh PMT lokal terhadap perubahan status gizi balita. Hasil penelitan menyimpulkan ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara PMT lokal dengan perubahan status gizi balita. Pemberian makanan tambahan berbasis pangan lokal dapat dijadikan salah satu strategi suplementasi dalam mengatasi masalah gizi pada balita.

Abstract

Stunting merupakan kondisi gagal tumbuh (growth faltering) pada anak balita akibat kekurangan gizi kronis terutama pada 1.000 Hari Pertama Kehidupan (HPK). Stunting menggambarkan status gizi kurang yang bersifat kronik pada masa pertumbuhan dan perkembangan sejak awal kehidupan. Program gizi yang telah dilakukan oleh pemerintah saat ini telah memberikan kontribusi terhadap penanggulangan masalah gizi yang ada. Konsumsi ikan dapat menjadi salah satu cara untuk memenuhi kebutuhan gizi sehingga dapat membantu dalam pencegahan stunting. Metode yang dilakukan dalam pengabdian ini adalah pemberian penyuluhan dan pelatihan pembuatan bakso ikan untuk pencegahan dan percepatan penurunan stunting. Penyuluhan dan pelatihan pembuatan bakso ikan diberikan kepada masyarakat yang memiliki risiko stunting dan didampingi oleh kader dan aparat desa. Kegiatan berlangsung selama 2 minggu yang dimulai dari tahap perencanaan, penyiapan media, hingga pelaksanaan kegiatan. Kegiatan berlangsung dengan baik dan diikuti oleh kelompok sasaran beserta kader kesehatan dan aparat desa.

Abstract

World Health Organization (WHO) states that cigarette smoke environment is the cause of various diseases, in active and passive smokers. Health problems that arise at this time are the result of unhealthy behavior, this can be prevented if the focus is on health efforts for family and community independence to have a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS). One of the breakthroughs is through the Community Healthy Life Movement (GERMAS). The purpose of this community service is to provide education and socialization of the Stop Smoking Movement to Support the Community Healthy Life Movement (GERMAS) in Pauwo Village. The method of implementation is: visiting houses where active smokers are present, then conducting a pre-test as initial data to determine public understanding of the dangers of smoking and the importance of clean and healthy living habits; After that, education and leaflets that are designed as attractive as possible are given so that people are interested in reading them. Leaflets contain information about the dangers of smoking, tips on quitting smoking and the importance of implementing PHBS; and finally, an evaluation was carried out using a post-test questionnaire. The results of the activity show that there is an increase in people's understanding of the dangers of smoking and the importance of implementing PHBS in everyday life. The conclusion of this community service is that the community's understanding of smoking and the importance of implementing PHBS in life to support the GERMAS program has increased.
