Abstract

Potensi ikan layang di perairan Kepulauan Kei menunjukan peluang signifikan sebagai sumberdaya perikanan bernilai ekonomi tinggi dengan metode penangkapan menggunakan alat tangkap pukat cincin, bagan dan pancing tonda. Purseine memungkinkan penangkapan dalam jumlah besar secara efisien, sedangkan bagan dan pancing tonda memberikan alternatif bagi nelayan dengan tingkat selektifitas yang berbeda. Meskipun potensi tangkapan cukup besar, eksploitasi berlebihan dapat mengancam kelestarian stok ikan layang dan ekosistem laut setempat. Oleh karena itu, keberlanjutan sumber daya ikan layang perlu dipertimbangkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pola pertumbuhan, faktor kondisi, dan tingkat penangkapan perikanan ikan layang yang didaratkan di Ohoi Sathean,  Selayar, Namar, Dian Pulau, Dunwahan, Ohoiren, Mastur dan Banda ely di Kepulauan Kei dari Desember 2023 hingga Mei 2024. Data primer dikumpulkan melalui survei lapangan dengan pengamatan langsung  terhadap 502 ekor sampel secara acak, data sekunder mengenai hasil tangkapan dan usaha penangkapan selama lima tahun terakhir dikumpulkan dari nelayan melalui wawancara dengan Teknik purposive sampling. Analisis meliputi distribusi panjang ikan, hubungan panjang-berat (nilai b = 2,36 menunjukan pertumbuhan alometrik negatif), faktor kondisi (K = 1,00–1,08 menandakan kondisi fisiologis kurang optimal), tingkat penangkapan serta daerah penangkapan. Tingkat penangkapan tertinggi ditemukan pada pukat cincin dengan fluktuasi selama 6 tahun terakhir, bagan dan pancing tonda relatif stabil. Hubungan upaya penangkapan terhadap tingkat penanngkapan menghasilkan nilai determinasi (R²) = 0,5275 dengan persamaan regresi Tingkat Penangkapan (CPUE) = 2332,8 - 0,5098E, yang menunjukkan hubungan negatif antara peningkatan upaya tangkap dengan hasil per unit usaha. Temuan ini menjadi dasar ilmiah untuk kebijakan pengelolaan perikanan layang berkelanjutan di Kepulauan Kei.

Abstract

Cookies are dry cakes made with flour as the primary baking ingredient. Spirulina platensis was rich in protein, amino acids, glycoproteins, essential fatty acids, polysaccharides, and beta-carotene. Therefore, using sago flour combined with spirulina and seaweed in cookies can increase the nutritional value and produce gluten-free cakes. This training aims to increase knowledge about spirulina, packaging, and product marketing strategies and the skills of Babakan village residents by providing training on making spirulina cookies. This community service activity was conducted by counseling and training on making spirulina cookies in Babakan Village, Dramaga. Counseling activities were carried out to increase knowledge about the potential of spirulina, good packaging, and product marketing strategies, as well as training on making spirulina cookies to improve the skills of Babakan village residents. There were 18 training participants: Family Welfare Empowerment administrators and members. Pre-tests and post-tests were carried out before and after the training activities regarding the topic provided by the speakers. The achievements of the training activities were seen from an increase in post-test results, which was 60% answered correctly compared to only 40% for the pre-test. The evaluation results of the participant's acceptance of training topics and training speakers had an average of 58 to 69%, respectively, perfect. While the participants's assessment of the training facilities and consumption had an average of 50%, they were good.

Abstract

Ulva lactuca, a green seaweed that is widely distributed in Indonesia, is abundant but still underutilized. Even though this seaweed contains a sulfated polysaccharide called ulvan as much as 30-40% of its dry biomass and secondary metabolite. These components can be applied in various fields including as a reducing agent for silver ions in the bottom up synthesis of silver nanoparticles. The utilization of seaweed extract combined with ultrasonication is expected to enhance the efficacy of environmentally friendly silver nanoparticle synthesis. The objective of this study was to obtain he crude extract of U. lactuca andto investigatethe impact of extract concentration and ultrasonication duration on the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles. The study consists of two main phases 1) bio-synthesis employing different concentrations of the U. lactuca crude extract, and 2) bio-synthesis using selected extract concentrations combined with ultrasonic assistance for varying durations. The results of this study indicate that the crude extract of U. lactuca is a crude ulvan polysaccharide with a yield value and sulfate content of 26.9 ± 0.90% and 20.04 ± 1.02%, respectively. A reddish-brown color indicates the formation of silver nanoparticles. Based on the absorbance intensity, a 10% (v/v) concentration of ulvan crude extract produced the highest absorbance intensity (0.038 a.u). In addition, the ultrasonication duration of 60 minutes has succeeded in producing the smallest particle size (267.40 ± 6.52 nm) with a homogeneous particle distribution (PdI 0.265 ± 0.05). Scanning electron microscope (SEM) images depicted oval-shaped silver nanoparticles, while the Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectrum indicated the degradation of sulfate and polysulfide functional groups in the crude extract during the biosynthesis process. These findings highlight the significant role of sulfate/sulfide groups present in the U. lactuca crude extract in the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles.

Abstract

Rajungan (Portunus pelagicus) merupakan komoditas perikanan yang menjadi andalan ekspor Indonesia, umumnya dalam bentuk daging rebus kupas beku dan bersifat mudah rusak. Tingginya potensi penangkapan dan pemanfaatan daging rajungan, maka tujuan penelitian adalah menentukan mutu fisikokimia dan mikrobiologi rajungan hasil tangkapan di Kabupaten Rembang, Jawa Tengah. Sampel yang digunakan adalah rajungan segar beku, rebus beku, dan daging rebus yang dikupas oleh rumah tangga nelayan dan miniplants. Analisis yang dilakukan, yaitu yield, kadar protein, profil asam amino, TVB-N, cemaran mikrob, dan logam berat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan yield 28,36-42,34%, kadar protein 17,98±0,64 dan 21,24±1,47% (bb), jumlah lisina 1,79-1,87%, asam glutamat 4,05-4,78% (b/b), hardness 22,145-38,096 N, dan cohesiveness 0,476-0,638. Nilai TVB-N rajungan (segar dan rebus) dan daging rajungan antara 9,51±1,67-54,68±0,00 mg N/100 g sampel. Daging rajungan tidak ditemukan Salmonella (negatif), Escherichia coli < 0,3 APM/100 g sampel, dan ALT 6,15×108 CFU/g sampel. Cemaran logam berat daging rajungan, yaitu Pb 0,12±0,09 mg/kg sampel, Cd 0,15±0,12 mg/kg sampel, dan Hg 1,48±0,71 mg/kg sampel. Rajungan hasil tangkapan di Kabupaten Rembang memiliki kualitas yang baik. Logam berat Hg yang ditemukan pada daging rajungan kupas di miniplants berada di atas ambang batas yang diizinkan, masih harus memerlukan pengujian lebih lanjut.

Abstract

A green alga, Chlorella vulgaris, was grown semi-continuously at various harvesting periods, and the lipid content and its associated antioxidant activity was examined. The harvesting periods were 9, 18, and 27 days, while the algal culture was placed in 10 L glass bottles provided with aeration for gas exchange and mixing. Light source was obtained from 440 watt cool fluorescent lamps placed at one side of the culture. Room temperature was 26-32C. Algal lipid extraction was done based on liquid phase separation ofmethanol:chloroform:water and the antioxidant activity was examined by means of oxidation inhibitory in ethanol emulsified limnoleic acid. In addition, a TLC analysis was performed to identify the antioxidant compounds soluble in the lipid. The results showed that harvesting period had a significant influence on the algal lipid content, which were 11.94, 12.96, and 16.51% of the dry weight in the culture with harvesting periods of 9, 18, and 27 days, respectively. No remarkable effect of the harvesting period on the antioxidant activity, which were observed to inhibit oxidation of linoleic acid up to 67-71%. There were five compounds found can be associated with the algal antioxidant activity, which were pheophorbide-a, chlorophyll-b, chlorophyll-a, phaeophytin-a, -carotene, and an unidentified one.
