Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of 1% lysine, 0.5% methionine and the combination of lysine and methionine (1% + 0.5%) in the ration on the weight gain of carcass parts of native chickens. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications, while the treatments were R0 (control) native chickens that were not given additional lysine and methionine, R1 native chickens were given feed containing lysine 1 %, R2 of free-range chickens given feed containing 0.5% methionine, R3 of native chickens given feed containing lysine and methionine (1% + 0.5%). The parameters observed were the weight gain in the chest, thighs, wings, and back. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance. The results showed that the provision of rations which were added with the combination of amino acids lysine and methionine had a very significant effect (P> 0.01) on the weight gain of the carcass, thighs and backs of native chickens aged 10 weeks. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the combination of the amino acids lysine and methionine in the ration gave the best effect on the weight gain of carcass parts of native chicken aged 10 weeks. Based on the results of the study, it is suggested to add the combination of lysine (1%) and methionine (0.5%) in the native chicken ration.

Abstract

Native chicken farms in Indonesia at this time have experienced very rapid development. One of the poultry that is currently being developed in Indonesia is the Super kampung chicken. The current reality is that the price of commercial feed in the market is felt by farmers to be very expensive, while feed is the largest component in poultry farming, where the cost of feed can reach 60-70% of the total production cost, so it is very important to look for other alternative feeds in the availability of ration feed ingredients. to keep production costs as small as possible without reducing optimum production. The use of sorghum seeds in the ration of super native chicken is (substitute) for corn because its nutritional content is almost the same as corn. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) which consisted of 5 treatments and 3 replications. S0 (Control) of chickens that were not given sorghum, S1 of chickens that were fed a diet containing 7.5% sorghum, S2= 15%, S3= 22.5% and S4= 30%. The arrangement of the 3-story cage with a total of 15 plots, each containing 5 chickens, so that 75 chickens were used with a body weight range of 183.2-210.0 g. From the results of the study, the administration of various levels of sorghum did not have a significant effect (P>0.05) on final body weight, weight gain, ration consumption, and ration conversion of super-village chickens aged 3-10 weeks. In the administration of various levels of sorghum at S0 (Control) it was higher than the S1, S2, S3, and S4 treatments on final body weight, weight gain, ration consumption, and ration conversion for super free-range chickens aged 3-10 weeks.

Abstract

A Banana is a fruit that can bear fruit regardless of the season. Bananas can grow in upland and lowland areas. Bananas are mostly produced in Asahduren Village, a village located in Pekutatan District, which is 75 km from the provincial capital of Bali. This very abundant banana fruit causes the community to be overwhelmed, so many are wasted after being used for traditional ceremonies. Therefore, community service is carried out with counseling methods, training, and product manufacturing practices. The community was given knowledge about processing bananas into banana chips snacks, processed banana jam, banana flour, banana sale, banana brownies and banana cakes, packaging, storage, marketing, entrepreneurship, and business management. With the skill of processing bananas into processed products, the group's income can increase.

Abstract

Community service is carried out to solve problems faced by the community. One of the problems local chicken farmers face is the limited quality of feed resources. Therefore, community service was provided by training on making fermented feed made from local resources as feed for native chickens. This activity was carried out in the Manuk Amerta Group, Asahduren Village, Pekutatan District, Jembrana-Bali.This activity was organized in collaboration with the Faculty of Animal Husbandry UNSRAT Manado. Training activities run well and are helpful in realizing feed independence by utilizing local potential agricultural waste. Mentoring activities are still needed for program sustainability. Fermented feed has better nutritional value and is preferred by livestock to increase livestock production.
