Abstract

Background: Gout is an antioxidant, the final product that is produced from the metabolism/ breakdown of purines, but if in excessive amounts in the blood, it will experience crystallization and can cause gout. Giving cinnamon extract to male white rats with hyperuricemia has the effect of reducing uric acid levels, because the extract of cinnamon contains Polyphenols namely Sinamldehid which is high enough (68.65%) to be a source of antioxidant compounds which can inhibit Xanthine Oxidase Enzine. This study aimed to analyze the therapy of dekokta cinnamon with honey to reduce uric acid for people with gout.Subjects and Method: This was a quasi experiment with pre and post-test design. The study was conducted in Gambirsari Community Health Center, Kadipiro Subdistrict, Mojosongo, Surakarta, Central Java, in May 2018. A sample of of 50 people with gout sufferers were selected by quota sampling and divided into 2 groups. The treatment group of 25 people received cinnamon decoction with honey with a concentration of 15%. The therapy was carried out for 1 week with a dose of once a day. In the control group, Allopurinol 100 mg was given for 1 week, with a dose of once a day. The data were analyzed by Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney est. Results: Uric acid in decoction cinnamon with honey group was lower than in control group and it was statistically significant (p= 0.023).Conclusion: Decoction cinnamon with honey can reduce uric acid level among gout patients. Keywords: cinnamon, decoction, honey, goutCorrespondence: Yeti Nurhayati. Abstract

Background: Uric acid is the final product of purine metabolism. Purines (adenine and guanine) are nucleic acid contituents. Purine rotation occurs continuously in the body along with the synthesis and decomposition of DNA and RNA, although there is no intake of purine, a substantial amount of uric acid will still be formed. Uric acid is synthesized mainly in the liver by the xanthine oxidase enzyme. This study aimed to examine the correlation of age with uric acid.Subjects and method: This was a cross-sectional study conducted in Gambirsari Health Center, Kadipiro Village, Mojosongo, Surakarta, Central Java. A sample of 50 gout patients was selected by purposive sampling. The dependent variable was uric acid. The independent variable was age. The data were analyzed by Pearson correlation. Results: There was a correlation between age and uric acid (r= 0.37; p= 0.009).Conclusion: There is a correlation between age and uric acid. Keywords: gout, age, uric acidCorrespondence: Yeti Nurhayati. Abstract

Introduction: The government has issued ‘the adaptation to new habits’ policy as there was a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of anxiety and analyze the associated factors of anxiety among midwifery students.Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted among midwifery students who are living and studying in Central Java Province from October 1 to October 25, 2020 using convenience sampling. The number of participants who met the criteria in the study was 1135. The online self-reported questionnaire was developed, which comprised sociodemographic characteristics, health-related information, and anxiety using The Zung’s Self-rating Anxiety Scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and binary logistic regression analysis with p-value <0.05 as the cut-off point for significance. Results: The prevalence of anxiety comprised of mild (9.7%), moderate (1.4%), and severe (1%), respectively. Exposure to a suspected case (OR = 2.3, 95% CI = 1.2, 4.6, p = 0.02) and age (OR = 0.4, 95% CI = 0.5, 0.9, p = 0.04) were significantly associated with anxiety. Students who were having contact with suspected COVID-19 was a 2.8 times greater risk of having anxiety. Students aged < 20 years was a 1.53 times greater risk of anxiety than those aged ≥ 20 years. Conclusions: This study reveals that exposure to a suspected case and less than 20 years old were the risk factors of a higher anxiety levels among the midwifery students. Prevention and impact reduction intervention should be conducted.

Abstract

Breast care during the puerperium can flex and strengthen the nipples, stimulate milk production, and keep the breasts clean, especially the nipples. The process of lactation, or breastfeeding, is the process of forming breast milk, which involves the hormones prolactin and oxytocin. Breastfeeding needs to be learned, among other things, by learning how to hold the baby so that he can suckle properly and adjust the body position so that he feels comfortable during breastfeeding. Often, breastfeeding failures are caused by incorrect positioning and attachment of the baby. The nipples become chafed so that the mother is reluctant to breastfeed, milk production decreases, and the baby becomes too lazy to suckle. The aim is to find out the effect of using the Soppa application (Simulation Oxytocin Planned Parenthood by Android) on the cognitive and psychomotor improvement of breastfeeding mothers. This type of research is quantitative with a quasi-experiment research design. The research design used a pre- and post-test without a control group design. This study wanted to know about cognitive and psychomotor changes in breastfeeding mothers and family planning using the SOPPA application. The results of the Wilcoxon test obtained a p-value of 0.0001, so H0 was rejected, which means that there is an effect of using the Soppa application (Simulation Oxytosin Planned Parenthood by Android) on the cognitive and psychomotor improvement of breastfeeding mothers.

Abstract

The BOM massage method is stimulation to help produce and expel breast milk as well as a combination of ways to care for the breasts so that milk can produce and provide relaxation for postpartum mothers. Mothers after giving birth can experience psychological fatigue associated with anxiety or depression which can hinder the flow of breast milk. Breastfeeding mothers who are always in a state of stress, sadness, anxiety, and experience various forms of tension will result in inhibition of the prolactin and oxytocin hormone systems, both of which are very influential and play an important role in the process of milk secretion. This study aims to analyze the differences in giving the BOM Massage method to the smoothness of breastfeeding in Post Partum Mothers. Analytical experimental research with RCT (Randomized Controlled Trial) design. The research was conducted at PMB Fitri Handayani. The subject of the study was the Postpartum Mother with a total of 20 respondents divided into 2 groups, 10 people per group were each treated with the BOM Massage method by giving 1 time a day for 2 days and 2 times a day for 2 days. The sampling method was purposive sampling, using the Paired T-test. Results Test the differences in the BOM Massage method once a day for 2 days lower (mean= 7.70; SD= 1.77) compared to 1 day twice for 2 days (mean= 10.3; SD= 1.25) Results statistical test Paired T-test has the effect of the BOM Massage method on the smoothness of ASI with a p value <0.001. In conclusion, giving the BOM Massage method 2 times a day for 2 days is more effective for smooth breastfeeding in Cemani Sukoharjo

Abstract

Mother's knowledge about immunization influences the provision of immunization to babies. If the mother's knowledge about immunization is lacking and the mother feels that she does not need immunization, this will affect the schedule, administration and completeness of immunizations for babies, which will have an impact on the emergence of disease in babies. This research uses quantitative methods with a retrospective approach. The population of this research is all female orphans who are in the Karangpandan Health Center Working Area for the period March 2024, namely 44 toddler’s mom with the sampling technique used Total Sampling. The instruments used were a maternal knowledge questionnaire about advanced immunizations and a KIA book to see the completeness of immunization status. The statical test using Chi Square test results show the Asymp value. Sig. (2-sided) 0.001 < 0.05, meaning that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, so there is a relationship between the mother's level of knowledge about Advanced Immunization and the Completeness Status of Advanced Immunization for Children Under 2 Years in Karangpandan Community Health Center Working Area.
