Abstract

The primary carrier of the dengue virus-caused disease dengue hemorrhagic fever is the Aedes aegypti mosquito.By eliminating the flick using larvacides, the effort of seeding can be avoided. Tannin concentration in lime leaf extract (Citrus aurantifolia) is known to suppress the growth of larval cuticles. The objective of the study was to assess how C.aurantifolia lime leaf extract affected the development of Ae. aegypti larvae. This form of research is experimental, and this extract is produced by macerating lime leaves in 90% ethanol before extracting it via evaporation. The study included four groups: aquades used as a negative control for testing on larvae and concentrations of 12.5%, 25%, and 50% lime leaf extract. Testing and observations have been conducted for 24 hours. The findings showed that different concentrations of lime leaf ethanol extract (C. aurantifolia), which is 100% poisonous to Ae. aegypti larvae, can impede its growth. To conclude, biolarvasida can be created by using the lime leaf extract. No morphological modifications were made to the Ae. aegypti larvae used in this investigation.

Abstract

Bird diversity in an area is one of the guidelines in the management of biological resources. Birds play an important role in controlling insect populations, helping with pollination and seed dispersal. This study aims to identify the types of birds in the order Coraciiformes and identify their level of diversity in the CRU Sampoiniet forest area, Aceh Jaya. The method used in this study is the Point Count method with 10 observation points for each point. Then it is calculated with a duration of 15 minutes with a radius of 50 meters and a distance of 200 meters for each point. Data analysis used a bird species identification book and used the Shannon Winner diversity formula Ĥ = ∑ Pi Ln Pi. The results of the research on the diversity of species of aves the order Coraciiformes in the CRU (Conservation Response Unit) Forest Area of Sampoiniet Aceh Jaya, consisted of 7 species from 3 families with a total of 33 individuals. The overall diversity index of species of aves of the order Coraciiformes Ĥ=1,89218, so the species diversity of aves of the order Coraciiformes in the Sampoiniet Aceh Jaya CRU (Conservation Response Unit) Forest Area categorized in the low diversity index.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain information about the species of plants used as medicines in the home gardens of the Lambirah community, Aceh Besar. The study was conducted in Lambirah Village in December 2024 using an exploratory survey method. Samples were determined by purposive sampling based on the availability of home garden land. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interview techniques with predetermined respondents and direct observation of plant species used as medicine in home gardens. The research parameters included the plant species utilized and the plant parts used. Data were analyzed qualitatively and presented descriptively based on the results of interviews with respondents. The results showed that the Lambirah community still maintains traditional medicinal practices based on medicinal plants, comprising 45 species belonging to 30 families, inherited from generation to generation. The most commonly used plant parts in treatment are leaves, fruits, rhizomes, flowers, bulbs, stems, sap, and bark. Home gardens not only serve as green spaces or sources of kitchen ingredients but also function as living pharmacies that provide significant benefits for family health. Abstract

Biodiversity is defined as the number of species inhabiting a particular area. Forests serve as ecosystems dominated by diverse plant species, primarily trees, which constitute the majority of the vegetation in these landscapes. Trees play a pivotal role in shaping forest communities and function as critical life-support systems. However, frequent environmental challenges and deforestation have resulted in insufficient attention toward research on the Moraceae family. Therefore, this study aims to identify species within the Moraceae family and analyze their diversity in the Soraya Research Station area. This research was conducted in September 2023 at the Soraya Research Station, located within the Leuser Ecosystem Area, Sultan Daulat District, Subulussalam City. The study employed an exploratory method using transect sampling across three main transects, each extending 1 km. Vegetation data were analyzed using the Importance Value Index (IVI) and Shannon-Wiener Diversity Index (H'). The findings revealed the presence of 8 Moraceae species, with a total of 221 individuals belonging to 2 genera. The species with the highest IVI was Damli (Artocarpus sp), with a value of 83.54, while the species with the lowest IVI was Damli lebar daun (Artocarpus sp), with a value of 8.87. The diversity index (H') of the Moraceae family at the Soraya Research Station was classified as moderate, with an H' value of 1.575.
