There have been extensive studies on firm’s growth. The determinants of growth are widely discussed among scholars. However, previous studies in context of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) growth are still limited and tend to focus on specific factor that affect firm’s growth. This approach can specifically measure the direct contribution of the factor to the growth, but it has been criticized due to its limited perspective and applicability. In this study, we investigate related studies on firm’s growth, specifically on SMEs growth, and proposing a holistic model to get a thorough understanding about the success or the failure of SMEs to grow. Based on a thorough review of the extant literature, we have identified several main theories/concepts on firm’s growth studies. Finally, we offer a conceptual overview for SMEs growth studies.

In the mining industry, analyzing, and controlling the spare parts inventory is important activities and need special attention from the company. The high production cost of the mining industry, including spare parts and shortages costs affects the financial and operational aspects of the company. Spare parts inventory management policy is critical to increase the service level and minimize spare parts cost. In this mining case study, the out of stock incidents in the heavy equipment spare parts were often occurring and significantly affecting the performance of maintenance and operations. The purpose of this study is to determine minimum stock (safety stock) and maximum stock to reduce overstocks and reduce the number of stocks out in spare parts inventory and as well as inventory cost. The method used to solve the problem is economic order quantity (EOQ) and continuous review control (S, s) to determine the minimum and maximum stocks. Determining the combination of S and s has a major impact on the success of inventory control. Substitution parts are subdivided into alphabetical values to determine their significance. As a result of calculating inventory value using EOQ and S, s will get the highest inventory value to reduce inventory costs.

Globalization and vast changing of business nature nowadays makes interdependence between organizations who shares the same supply network is becoming stronger. Any risk that occurs in one point of a supply chain could affect to the whole network. As a result, risk in supply chain is getting more complex and unpredictable. Since any kind of risk could potentially impede or even stop business activities of the whole supply chain therefore managing supply chain risk is essential. Moreover, to handle supply chain risk properly, the interrelationships between these risks should be identified. However, there is only few study which cover interrelationships between supply chain risks. This research is aiming to provide a proposed model of a supply chain interrelation risks based on case study in an petrochemical industry. Interpretive Approach Structural Modeling is utilized to develop the relationships between risks while weight determination for risk relationship is conducted using Analytical Network Process. The case study of this research identifies that there are 14 supply chain risks which are grouped as driver, dependent, autonomous and linkage. The weight of risk interrelations are then considered when quantify each risk. Calculation of risk priority number is not only taking into account its own probability and consequence but also the probability and weight of affected risk.

Overstock spare part in the Electric Power Transmission System will affect the inefficiency in the asset management of the company. While the spare part stockouts in the company will disrupt the maintenance process of the electric transmission system, which then lead to power outages. Overstock spare parts are caused by several factors, such as forecasting errors in material requirements, intermittent requests, so it is difficult to determine the optimal order quantity. On the other hand, the unavailability of spare parts will affect the reliability of the electrical energy transmission system, which has the potential in causing a massive power outage. Monte Carlo simulations help to show the more concrete picture of the spare parts inventory condition using a periodic review (R, S) system approach. Divination of the combination of S and R parameters is very influential on the success of spare part control. Spare part classification is used for understanding the demand characteristics and the level of criticism. Moreover, the analysis of simulation results will show the information on supply fulfilment strategies to overcome the problems of either spare parts availability or spare parts overstock.

Project Management must meet the performance criteria of timeliness and budget control agreed between the project owner, contractor and supervisor. However, the level of uncertainty in the project implementation process is very high and causes delays and over budgeting. The Village Nongkojajar is a Proposed Integrated Agropark Project as a result of the revitalization of the non-productive land of the Horticultural Seed Farm owned by the Government of East Java Province. The Landscape Architecture Project has a Creative Value Chain which is divided into Creation - Implementation - Management. Therefore scheduling and controlling the project becomes important in order to to estimate working time and the project remains in accordance with the predetermined project timeline and whenever corrective action is needed. The relevance of Project Management in this research is that with high project problems, require a good planning process. The Project can be completed quickly than the specified time and more cost effective. Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) is one method for completing and preparing projects that focus on the resource requirements for implementing projects by adding project buffers, feeding buffers and resource buffers. By analyzing using CCPM, researchers can look for optimization and control in implementing project scheduling.
