Abstract

the government of the Republic of Indonesia is now launching a form of education which is based on character known as “character education”.  In the context of character education in schools, it is expected that all the courses taught in all levels and in all kinds of education are directly to the building of good character. To relate with teaching English, writing is one of the subject that has promising potential to help the students to build their character. On the other hand, technology especially internet has been familiar with the students. Via internet we can exchange our idea online, even with people half a world away from us. Google docs is one of the alternative tool that can be used in teaching writing. Google docs is a free online program that allows users to create documents, spreadsheets and presentations online and share them with others for collaboration. By using Google docs the teacher can improve the students writing skill and also build their character. Keywords : character building, writing, google docs

Abstract

This paper highlights the benefits of implementing Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) in teaching-learning of four skills of English. TBLT focuses on how English language is applied in accomplishing a certain task. TBLT also cultivates studenys’ self-efficacy and enthusiasm in learning. Task-based activities create advantageous atmospheres in language learning since they focus on the outcomes of learning by maximizing the use of Engliah language. Furthermore, this paper discusses the essence, the purposes, and the effects of TBLT in enhancing students’ four skills of English. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk: 1) Menguji pengaruh penerapan metode bermain game terhadap sikap mahasiswa pada mata kuliah speaking 2, 2) Menguji pengaruh penerapan bermain game terhadap penguasaan kosa kata bahasa Inggris 3) Menguji pengaruh penerapan bermain game terhadap penguasaan kalimat bahasa Inggris 4) Menguji pengaruh penerapan bermain game terhadap kemampuan komunikasi menggunakan bahasa Inggris.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Universitas Kanjuruhan Malang, pada mahasiswa Jurusan Bahasa Inggris tahun akademik 2015/2016. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimental. Dalam pengumpulan data, peneliti menggunakan wawancara, observasi, kuesioner, dukumen dan tes. Data kualitatif dianalisis dengan menggunakan Constant Comparative Method: membandingkan kejadian yang berlaku untuk setiap kategori, integrating categories and their properties, delimiting the theory, dan speaking the theory. Data kuantitatif dianalisis deskriptif dengan statistik Korelasi Product Moment untuk mencari nilai akhir. Peneliti mendapatkan banyak kemajuan setelah melakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan metode bermain game. Adapun dilihat pada kemampuan dan keberanian berbicara bahasa Inggris yang spontanitas serta penambahan kosa kata pada mahasiswa semester 2 tersebut.Hasil dari variabel X ( Strategi bermain game) dari 80 orang mahasiswa adalah 5831, sedangkan variabel Y (kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris) adalah 7189. Setelah dihitung dengan menggunakan korelasi Pearson Product Moment r hitung adalah 0.8090. Dengan nilai 0.8090, jika diinterpretasikan sesuai dengan Interpretasi Koefisien Korelasi nilai r. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai korelasi variabel X (bermain game) mempunyai pengaruh tingkat hubungan yang sangat tinggi terhadap variabel Y (kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris. Abstract

The goal of this study was to examine the students’ perceptions on the use of E-learning as an educational method, moreover to identify the benefit and challenges of using E-learning as an educational method in the English Education Department 2019 intake at Universitas PGRI Kanjuruhan Malang. In this research, the researchers used the qualitative method. The subject of this research was 40 students of the English Education Department 2019 intake. The data were collected through questionnaires to 40 students and interviewed by ten participants. The data were analyzed by using data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions/verification. The finding showed that of the 40 students who filled out the questionnaire, 7 students stated strongly agree and 31 students agreed that they had experience using E-learning. This means that most of the participants who have filled out the questionnaire have experience using E-learning and there are several supporting facilities for using E-learning. The students felt that E-learning is useful and interesting to use, E-learning can also add new knowledge about technology that has never been obtained before, etc. Furthermore, the problems faced by the students in using E Learning were limited availability of internet access, the students felt bored, students' learning motivation was reduced, and students found difficulty to understand the lessons.

Abstract

This research is aimed at analyzing the characterizations of the five main characters in “Itaewon Class” korean drama. The analysis of the characterization includes the appearance of the characters, the personality of the characters, the social status of the characters, and the social relationship of the characters. The object of this research is the four main characters, namely Park Sae Ro-Yi, Jo Yi-Seo, Oh Soo-Ah, and Jang Dae-Hee This research applied descriptive qualitative research design. Data collection process includes: (1) watching the “Itaewon Class” drama, (2) reading the story of “Itaewon Class” and (3) preparing theory regarding the character and characterization. The findings of this research are each character has different characters. Park Sae Ro-Yi is known as a high integrity, hard-working, responsible, care, and never gives up man. He is also known as a man who has a good attitude. Jo Yi-Seo is described as a girl who has some characters, such as sociopath, lack of empathy, smart and full of charm, discipline, and confident. Oh Soo-Ah grows up as a realistic, consistent, firm, hard-working, not easily to give up and disciplined woman. Jang Dae-Hee is well-known as a rough, wicked, hard-working, cunning, vengeful, and caring man.

Abstract

Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan kreativitas guru-guru KB-RA Terapi Tazkiyah dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran menggunakan kain flanel, sehingga dapat memfasilitasi proses belajar mengajar yang lebih efektif dan menyenangkan bagi siswa dengan berbagai kebutuhan khusus․ Metodologi yang digunakan meliputi pengabdian interaktif yang mengombinasikan ceramah dan praktik langsung, dimana guru-guru diajarkan untuk membuat dan menggunakan media pembelajaran seperti buku dan dadu dari kain flanel․ Hasil dari pengabdian ini menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kreativitas dan kemampuan praktis para guru, serta aplikasi efektif dari media pembelajaran yang telah dibuat dalam kelas․ Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menekankan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran kreatif, seperti kain flanel, tidak hanya meningkatkan interaksi dan motivasi belajar siswa, tetapi juga membantu dalam pengembangan kognitif dan motorik mereka․ Pengabdian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan lebih lanjut atas pengabdian serupa untuk memastikan penerapan yang luas dan berkelanjutan di lembaga pendidikan lainnya․

Abstract

This study aims to (1) measure the effects of the students taught by using strategic planning and non-strategic planning in the argumentative essay writing; (2) measure the effects of the students having high and low self-efficacy in the argumentative essay writing, and (3) measure the interaction effects between strategic planning and self-efficacy on the students’ argumentative essay writing skill. The research design used in this study was experimental research with two way ANOVA. This research was conducted in for students in the English Language Education and English Literature Study Program, PGRI Kanjuruhan University of Malang who took the Essay Writing course. The results of this study indicate that students taught by using strategic planning got higher scores than students taught by using non-strategic planning. This can be seen from the mean value in the experimental class (strategic planning) is 84.57, while the average of students in the control class (non-strategic planning) is 64.37. Meanwhile the students who have high self-efficacy got higher scores than students having low self-efficacy. This can be seen from the average score of students with high self-efficacy is 79.67, while the average value of students with low self-efficacy is 59.87. There is also an interaction between strategic planning and self-efficacy on the students’ ability in writing argumentative essay. The significance is .000 which is smaller than .05.

Abstract

Berdasarkan observasi ditemukan di bidang pendidikan masih terdapat kekurangan di Dusun Segelan Desa Balesari Kecamatan Ngajum Kabupaten Malang, Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik (KKN-T) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi dan pemahaman bahasa Inggris, khususnya di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Balesari 05. Karena sebagai pelajaran tambahan, pelatihan diberikan pada akhir pekan di hari Sabtu dan Minggu. Setelah ditawarkan ke kelas 1 sampai kelas 6, terdata hanya kelas 4, 5, dan 6 yang bersedia mengikuti yaitu sebanyak 15 dari total 28 peserta didik. Pembelajaran diberikan berbasis teknologi kuis gamifikasi menggunakan aplikasi Quiziz secara daring mencakup ejaan, pelafalan, kosa kata, tata bahasa, penulisan, kata ganti dan menulis kalimat. Setelah dilakukan 5 kali pertemuan, para peserta telah mulai terbiasa memahami teori dan mengaplikasikannya dalam menjawab kuis di Quiziz baik pada saat awal bersama-sama menggunakan laptop, lalu secara individu menggunakan handphone pribadi untuk menjawab bahkan berkompetisi dalam mendapatkan nilai tertinggi yang diperoleh dari Quiziz. Dapat disimpulkan KKN-T ini telah berjalan dengan baik dan sukses, terlihat dari tingginya motivasi, antusiasme dan kondisi menyenangkan selama mengikuti pelatihan.
