Abstract

The increasing of base population variability can be done by induction of physical mutation by gamma ray. The objective of this research was to know responses of seed viability of some local rice varieties of South Kalimantan tidal swamp that were irradiate d by gamma ray. The experiment was carried out in Plant Physiology Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, Lambung Mangkurat University based on Factorial Randomized Block Design, namely 7 (varietas) x 4 (doses) x 2 (replication). The observation were done on seed germination, seed growth uniformity, plumula lenght of strong normal seedling, root lenght of strong normal seedling, dry weight of normal seedling, and speed of seed germination. Data were analized by F -tes (Anova). If interaction or single factor were significant, so continued by LSD (Least Significant Difference) weren’t equal. Seed germination, seed growth uniformity, and speed of seed ger mination of Siam Unus Kuning Variety (7) wasn’t affected by dose of irradiation of gamma ray. The effect of gamma ray on some doses on each varieties have decreased seed viability. The worst performance for all variable were in highest dose, namely 30 krad

Abstract

Artificial mutation could be used in the formation of base population for selection. Local varieties which have a wide distance of relationship are expected to have a greater opportunity for obtaining more diverse offspring. The purpose of this study was to select five distinct local tidal swamp rice varieties of South Kalimantan that could be used for parental mutation. The study was conducted from March to December 2009. The distance of varietal relationship was estimated by cluster analysis using the SPSS Programme Version 11.5. Selection of the five best varieties was carried out by the Exponential Rank Method (ERM) applying 7 criteria, namely plant height, number of panicles, panicle length, grain weight/panicle, number of grains/panicle, weight of 1000 grains, and grain yield. Results of the cluster analysis based on a 82.5% similarity level showed that diversities of the 40 accessions of local tidal swamp rice in South Kalimantan were spread in four clusters, namely Cluster I (13 varieties), Cluster II (1 varieties), Cluster III (6 varieties) , and Cluster IV (20 varieties). Five varieties that were selected based on the cluster analysis and the ERM were Siam Harli, Siam Unus (Bumi Makmur), Siam Kuatek, Datu, dan Siam Unus (Barambai).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan karakteristik fisik gabah mutan generasi M3 padi lokal pasang surut Kalimantan Selatan.  Bahan genetik adalah gabah yang berasal dari 5 tetua dan 25 mutan terseleksi berdasarkan hasil perhitungan MPE. Seluruh bahan genetik diamati sebanyak 2 kali ulangan, sehingga berjumlah 60 satuan pengamatan.  Analisis data menggunakan analisis ragam dengan pola Rancangan Acak Kelompok.  Apabila kesimpulan dari pengujian analisis ragam berpengaruh nyata, maka dilakukan uji lanjutan berupa uji Gugus Scott-Knott pada taraf 5 % untuk membandingkan kelompok gugus mutan M3 dengan tetua masing-masing.  Hasil menunjukan bahwa panjang gabah, lebar gabah, serta rasio panjang dan lebar gabah galur M3 hasil seleksi mutan padi lokal pasang surut Kalimantan Selatan berbeda sangat nyata dengan masing-masing tetua.

Abstract

Keseragaman dalam Galur dan Keragaman antar Galur Padi Mutan M5 Berbasis Irradiasi Varietas Lokal Kalimantan Selatan. Preferensi petani lahan rawa terhadap padi varietas lokal tinggi, namun varietas lokal berumur panjang dan hasilnya rendah, sehingga perlu perbaikan varietas lokal.  Penelitian ini merupakan bagian kegiatan perbaikan padi varietas lokal untuk menghasilkan galur-galur harapan berumur pendek-sedang, sedangkan butir gabah yang ramping dan pera tetap dipertahankan.   Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keseragaman dalam galur  dan keragaman antar galur M5.  Penelitian dilaksanakan di Sawah Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Lambung Mangkurat sejak Maret - September 2014. Penelitian menggunakan 300 galur terpilih tanpa ulangan.  Keseragaman dalam galur dianalisis dengan membandingkan ragam masing-masing galur mutan  dengan ragam tetuanya.  Keragaman antar galur dilakukan dengan membandingkan ragam semua galur  dengan tetuanya.   Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar galur M5 asal tetua Siam Harli dan Siam Kuatek  sudah seragam, sedangkan ragam galur tetua Siam Harli dan Siam Kuatek tidak berbeda nyata dengan galur-galur M5, tetapi  sebagian galur tetua asal Siam Harli maupun Siam Kuatek lebih baik  daripada tetuanya, sehingga berpeluang untuk memilih galur-galur yang lebih baik daripada tetuanya.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKecamatan Daha Selatan kabupaten Hulu Sungai Selatan Kalimantan Selatan merupakan daerah penghasil labu kuning. Selama ini labu kuning hanya dimanfaatkan untuk campuran sayuran dan kue tradisional, seperti nagasari. Untuk  meningkatkan nilai tambah dan penganekaragaman pangan lokal berbasis labu kuning dilakukan pelatihan mengenai pengolahan  labu kuning. Pengolahan labu kuning dibagi menjadi dua tahap, yaitu  pengolahan labu kuning menjadi tepung dan pengolahan  tepung labu kuning menjadi cake, kue kering, dodol dan kerupuk. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberi ketrampilan  dan pengetahuan pengolahan labu kuning kepada masyarakat dengan harapan dapat dikembangkan sebagai sumber ekonomi keluarga. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 22 peserta yang mewakili lima desa yang ada di kecamatan Daha Selatan. Hasil  kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat sangat antusias untuk mengolah labu kuning menjadi beberapa produk olahan  karena selain warna produknya menarik (kuning), rasanya enak dan produk olahan bermacam-macam. Produk olahan labu kuning oleh peserta  akan diikutkan dalam pameran pembangunan  yang diadakan di tingkat provinsi. Kata Kunci: labu kuning; nilai tambah; pangan lokal; penganekaragaman pangan; produk olahan  pangan. ABSTRACTDaha Selatan, Hulu Sungai Selatan District, South Borneo is a sub district which produce pumpkin. Thus far, pumpkin is only used as vegetable mixture and traditional cake, such as Nagasari. The added value and diversification of pumpkin-based products can be increased by training in pumpkin processing. There is two step of pumpkin processing. First step is to processed pumpkin into flour and then the flour could be used to made food products such as, cake, cookies, dodol and crackers. The purpose of this activity is to provide the community with skills and knowledge in processing pumpkin with the expectation it can be developed as a source of family economy. This activity was attended by 22 representatives from five villages in Daha Selatan. The result of this activity show the community processed pumpkin with enthusiasm into various products because it has appealing color (yellow) and tastes good, beside that the products could be has more variance. Pumpkin product processed by participant would be included in development exhibition held at the provincial level. Keywords: pumpkin; added value, local food; food diversification; food products.

Abstract

Tidal marshland constitute sub optimal land that progressively important which is role in increasing effort of rice productions. However, in effort for exploit tidal marshland had a severally limitation. Therefore, new high yield rice variety is necessary that is possess high yield potential and broadly adaptation capacity. This research is a experiment that is be done on sour sulphate land with type B water overflowing by using agglomerate random design (RAK) one factor with 16 treatment, 2 replication and 32 unit experiment. The treatment consists of a 14 M7 lines and as comparator variety is local rice variety Cantik and high yield rice mutation result (Bestari). Observational result indicate growth of M7 line on high of plant, amount of tiller, flowering age, and harvest age having better performance than comparator variety. The performance yield component of M7 line on meaty grain, total grain, weight of grain per panicle, and weight of grain per hectare consistis low yield until equivalent. However, in weight of 1000 seeds M7 line strains did not differ from high yield rice mutation result (Bestari), but all the strains showed a weight of 1000 seeds heavier than local rice variety Cantik.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of bokashi and biopori depth treatment on growth and production of oil palm. The study was conducted at Long Gelang Paser Regency in August 2017 - January 2018 using a randomized block design with two factors. The first factor is the depth of biopori with depth: 50, 75, and 100 cm and the second factor is bokashi weight with level: 4, 5 and 6 tons per hectare with three replicates, highest weight of TBS obtained at 75 cm biopori depth, obtained at a depth of 100 cm biopori with 6 ton per hectare of bokashi, the highest soil N content was obtained at 50 cm depth with treatment of 6 tons per hectare bokashi, the highest groundwater content was obtained at 75 cm biopori depth with bokashi 4 tons per hectare

Abstract

Watershed Rehabilitation activities are one of the efforts in carrying out soil and water conservation. Evaluation of plant growth Watershed rehabilitation needs to be carried out to determine the success of these activities. In a case study at the Gunung Batu block location, it was found that there was a positive and strong correlation between the variable height dimension increase and crown diameter increase in Kayu Putih (Melaleuca cajuputi) plants. The regression equation was built using the dimensional variables of Total Plant Height as a result of ground sampling and the diameter of the crown as a result of orthophoto drone interpretation. By using 4 regression equation models, it was concluded that the best coefficient of determination was generated from the exponential regression model with a value of = 0.96 with the equation y = 0.3016e1.3573x which was built using a height class of 20 cm. The accuracy test was carried out to see how far the standard deviation of the model was. Estimation of the height of 23 Kayu Putih (Melaleuca cajuputi) plants with a height range of 1.2 to 3.5 meters was carried out using 4 regression equation models, where the data were plant data that were not used in building 4 models. The best standard deviation value produced is 0.11 meters which is obtained from the range of plant heights from 1.2 to 1.8 meters using the exponential regression model equation.

Abstract

Research on Agronomic and Environmental Measures to Local Paddy Cultivars Siam Unus on Three Districts in Barito Kuala Regency from December 2017-January 2018. The research method used was survey method, and data collection method used is purposive sampling, that farmer which rice plant of local varieties Siam Unus, and 2 villages in 3 sub-districts, and each village was selected random samples each of 10 farmers with the interview with local rice farmer Siam Unus located at the location. farmers who used the tractor in the tidal area were 8 people (13.33%) and those who did not use the tractor for the tidal area were 52 people (88.67%). Local farmers who use lime as many as 26 people (43.33%), and who do not use lime for his farm as much as 34 people (56.67%). Due to the land used to grow local paddy was flooded with high water. The direct influence of rainy days and rainfall in tidal swamps to the productivity of local varieties of Siam Unus rice each gives negative influence and contribution of 1.11% and 2.90% to the productivity of local rice plants varieties Siam Unus.
