Abstract

Local languages which are also referred as mother tongue should be attached to every child as individual. The re-orientation of language due to global influences should not mean forgetting the local language. Globalization and traditions can run simultaneously so that millennial generations are not only proficient in foreign languages, but also understand in using their local languages. This is a communication and culture research. The purpose of this study was to determine the millennials assumptions about local languages and the teaching approaches needed. An integrated teaching approach is needed so that it can restore the millennials’ interest and confidence in speaking their local languages. This research used a descriptive qualitative method with interview techniques, involving millennial generation from Jakarta, West Java and Lampung Provinces. The results of the study show that some of the millennials can speak their local languages but not as active speakers. There are two major obstacles that prevent the millennials to speak their local languages, namely internal and external factors. Internal factor that prevents them from speaking their local languages is family, and the external factors include peers, environment and technology. To encourage the use of local language, the government has issued Regional Regulations (PERDA) so that local languages can be used by daily life such as in schools. In addition, equality communication model can be used in teaching local languages, that include seriousness, openness, acceptance, and flexible teaching This approach is supported by binding local government regulations that require the use of local languages in a variety of contexts, including the language of instruction in education.

Abstract

Newspaper forms are the process of organizing and decorating the front page. The two design elements consist of appearance and layout, both of which have functions to decorate, beautify and arrange the front page so that it is interesting. Thairath and Tribun Jabar newspapers in arranging the front page of the newspaper using graphic design elements to make it interesting. This research uses the descriptive qualitative method. The purpose of this research is to get a picture of the second form of newspaper, namely the color, typography, and layout format. The results showed that the application of the design of print media of the Thairath newspaper and the West Java Tribune so that it would not be rigid and attract attention. The color that dominates the Thairath newspaper is green, while the Tribun Jabar newspaper is blue. The typography used in each section on the second page of the newspaper is carried out consistently in accordance with the visual hierarchy. The layout format arrangement has an impact on attracting newspapers to be read by readers.Reka bentuk surat kabar merupakan proses menata dan menghias halaman muka. Dua unsur reka bentuk terdiri dari perwajahan dan tata letak, kedua-duanya memiliki fungsi untuk menghias, memperindah dan menata halaman muka sehingga menarik. Surat kabar Thairath dan Tribun Jabar dalam menata halaman muka surat kabarnya menggunakan elemen desain grafis supaya menarik. Penelitian ini menggunakan meode deskriptif kualitatif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang reka bentuk kedua surat kabar, yaitu mengenai warna, tipografi dan format layout. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan reka bentuk media cetak surat kabar Thairath dan Tribun Jabar, supaya tidak kaku dan menarik perhatian. Warna yang menjadi dominasi pada surat kabar Thairath adalah warna hijau, sementara pada surat kabar Tribun Jabar adalah warna biru. Tipografi yang digunakan pada setiap bagian pada halaman muka kedua surat kabar, dilakukan secara konsisten sesuai dengan hierarki visual. Penataan  format layout berimbas pada menariknya surat kabar untuk dibaca oleh pembaca.

Abstract

This study is Journalists and Media Reality (Qualitative Research in Bandung City) aims to determine the definition of journalists in Bandung City towards media reality, the trigger factors for media neutrality adoption, and how the effect of implementing media neutrality on journalists. In order to provide an overview and experience of media neutrality experienced by journalists in the city of Bandung, this study is more suitable to use a descriptive qualitative approach. Based on unstructured interviews and role observations with five journalists, the results showed that the informants gave a very diverse and complex definition of media neutrality, but in principle, it led to the word impartial. The informants also admitted that implementing neutrality was due to the awareness to carry out their obligations as journalists. Meanwhile, the effect of implementing media neutrality is focused on two poles, namely positive so that they become professional journalists and negative so that they become unprofessional journalists. This research has an impact on the actualization of journalists' activities while carrying out their profession so that journalists are still obliged to uphold neutrality.Penelitian ini betujuan untuk mengetahui pengertian wartawan di Kota Bandung terhadap netralitas media, faktor pemicu pengiplementasian netralitas media, dan bagaimana efek pengiimplementasian netralitas media terhadap wartawan. Guna memberikan gambaran dan pengalaman mengenai netralitas media yang dialami oleh para wartawan di Kota Bandung, penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengmpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara tidak terstruktur dan pengamatan berperan kepada lima wartawan, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, para informan memberikan pengertian netralitas media yang sangat beragam dan kompleks namun pada prinsipnya mengarah pada kata tidak berpihak. Para informan juga mengakui mengimplementasikan netralitas adalah karena kesadaran untuk melaksanakan kewajiban sebagai wartawan. Sedangkan efek pengimplementasian netralitas media tertuju pada dua kutub, yaitu positif sehingga menjadi wartawan profesional dan  negatif sehingga menjadi wartawan yang tidak profesional. Penelitian ini berdampak pada aktualisasi aktivitas wartawaan saat menjalankan profesinya, sehingga wartawan tetap berkewajiban menjungjung tinggi netralitas.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan Strategi Marketing Public Relations, yaitu melalui taktik pull strategy, taktik push strategy, dan taktik pass strategy yang dilakukan oleh Humas Daarut Tauhiid. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kasus kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan wawancara mendalam dan observasi partisipatorik pasif. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui langkah-langkah: menentukan lokasi penelitian, menentukan metode penelitian, menentukan pemilihan informan, menentukan jenis dan sumber data, menentukan teknik pengumpulan data, dan akhirnya mengolah dan menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam mempertahankan brand image perusahaan, Daarut Tauhiid tertarik menggunakan taktik pull strategy melalui iklan di berbagai media sosial serta televisi dan radio milik Daarut Tauhiid sendiri, yaitu MQ TV dan MQ FM. Taktik push strategy mendirikan beragam macam pesantren yang bisa dimasuki oleh segala jenjang usia, serta mengadakan kegiatan kegiatan seperti kajian yang diisi langsung oleh K.H Abdullah Gymnastiar sehingga mampu mengundang jama’ah yang sangat banyak. Taktik pass strategy melalui partisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan-kegiatan keagamaan, seperti pada aksi bela palestina dan lain sebagainya. Kata Kunci: Strategi Marketing Public Relations, Marketing dan Humas, Daarut Tauhiid The purpose of this research is to know the Strategy of Marketing Public Relations, namely: pull strategy tactics, push strategy tactics and pass strategy tactics conducted by the Marketing and Public Relations Daarut Tauhiid. The methods which used in this research is a qualitative case study with deep interviewing technique and participatory passive observation. The research has been done by following the steps: decide the location of research, determine the methods of research, pick over the selection of informant, classifi the genre and source of data, determine the technique of data collection, and finally processing data and analyse the data. The results of this study indicate that in maintaining the company's brand image, Daarut Tauhiid is interested in using pull strategy tactics through advertising in various social media and television and radio owned by Daarut Tauhiid own, namely MQ TV and MQ FM. Tactics of push strategy to establish various kinds of boarding schools that can be entered by all levels of age, and hold activities such as studies filled directly by K. H Abdullah Gymnastiar so as to invite jama'ah very much. Pass strategy tactics through active participation in religious activities, such as in the act of defending the palestine and so forth. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana Bagian Komunikasi Korporasi PT. Len Industri (Persero) dalam mengimplementasikan kegiatan Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) melalui Program Bantuan Solar Tree Light mulai dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, hingga tahap evaluasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Konsep yang digunakan adalah konsep implementasi dan konsep Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) dengan memperhatikan aspek “3P” atau Triple Bottom Line : Profit-Planet-People dari Jon Elkingston. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Implementasi Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) melalui Program Bantuan Solar Tree Light dimulai dengan perencanaan yakni melaksanakan rapat internal, menetapkan tujuan Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), menjalankan operasionalisasi proposal/surat, melakukan sosialisasi, dan melakukan survey. tempat. Pelaksanaan dengan cara melakukan pemasangan Solar Tree Light, melakukan serah terima Solar Tree Light, dan melakukan kegiatan sharing knowledge dan terakhir evaluasi dengan tahapan berupa kegiatan monitoring dan evaluasi internal. The purpose of this research is to find out how the Corporate Communication Section of PT. Len Industri (Persero) in implementing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities through the Surya Tree Light Assistance Program starting from the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, and documentation studies. The concept used is the implementation concept and concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by taking into account the "3P" or Triple Bottom Line aspects: Profit-Planet-People from Jon Elkingston. The results showed that the Implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) through the Solar Tree Light Assistance Program began with internal internal planning, setting goals for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), carrying out the operation of proposals/ letters, conducting socialization, and conducting site surveys. Implementation by installing Solar Tree Light, making handover of Solar Tree Light, and conducting knowledge sharing activities and lastly evaluating with internal monitoring and evaluation activities.

Abstract

Mass communication messages can be produced individually using internet facilities that can be accessed using various gadgets today. Everyone can be to send of any communication message to the public, including hoax message. The hoax is information or messages that are not supported by facts and data, so that is lie and cannot be justified. Hoax are made to confuse the atmosphere, attack and bring down others To day hoax can be  compete with communication message produced by any mass media, and any where including journalists in the Bandung Raya. This study aims to examine the idealism of online media journalists in the Bandung Raya area in the hoax vortex, so it takes of data in the form of opinions from online media journalists in Bandung Raya. Therefore, the appropriate research method in this research is descriptive method. Descriptive method seeks to describe the phenomenon or object of research in accordance with what is in the field. Therefore, the most appropriate approach to constructing opinions and experiences experienced by researchers and informants is a qualitative approach. The guiding theories in this research are social action theory, phenomenology and symbolic interaction theory which are also supported by concepts relevant to this research. Through interviews to journalists, the research results show that hoaxes for online media journalists in the Greater Bandung area can provide both positive and negative aspects to journalists' idealism.

Abstract

The adaptation of non-Sundanese reporters is the object of this study; the aim is to find out the views of non-Sundanese journalists on Sundanese society in the city of Bandung, the self-concept owned by non-Sundanese journalists and how the adaptation of non-Sundanese journalists in gathering news. The methodology used is phenomenology with symbolic interaction theory. This study uses a qualitative approach: observation techniques, in-depth interviews do the process of data collection. The results showed that Non-Sundanese Journalists in Bandung City, most of the opinion. Sundanese people have a positive nature and easy to accept other people from outside the region who have cultural differences. For non-Sundanese journalists, when carrying out their profession as a journalist, they should have advantages compared to indigenous journalists so that they can survive in carrying out their duties in gathering news. Having education that is directed and professional in their fields, is capital in carrying out their profession so that they will become journalists who are expected and needed by others, wherever they are. Non-Sundanese journalists are expected to be able to adapt or adjust to the perceived differences in gathering news, especially from cultural and linguistic differences, so that enormous courage and patience are needed.

Abstract

The media always try their best to represent reality for their audiences, with the hope of retaining readers and increasing company revenues. However, in depicting the reality of religious conflict, the media often contradicts the norms, ethics, and code of ethics of journalism itself. The purpose of this study was to determine the representation of religious conflict in local media, namely the Ahmadiyah conflict in West Java, which was published in the Pikiran Rakyat in news coverage from 2010 to 2011. This study used Teun A. van Dijk's critical discourse analysis method. The results of the study show that Pikiran Rakyat represents the Ahmadiyah conflict in various ways, including dividing the object of its reporting into two camps, strong and weak, by branding Ahmadiyah as a deviant, banned, and disbanded organization. The strong side is an organization supported by the government, and the weak side is Ahmadiyah, which does not receive government protection and support. Pikiran Rakyat presents news sources in this religious conflict in an unfair and balanced manner, presenting more news sources from the majority than Ahmadiyah as a minority. Pikiran Rakyat also represents ways of resolving the Ahmadiyah conflict.

Abstract

Majalah dinding atau kerap disebut sebagai mading merupakan salah satu fasilitas yang ada di pesantren. Pengelolaan majalah dinding ditangani langsung oleh santri sebagai bentuk kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, dan sama sekali tidak mengikutsertakan pimpinan pesantren. Keterlibatan ustadz dalam pengelolaan majalah dinding hanya sebagai pengawas dan tidak dalam urusan teknis. Majalah dinding dikelola oleh santri untuk santri serta untuk para penghuni pesantren lainnya. Banyak pemikir Islam di Indonesia yang mempunyai latar belakang pernah ikut serta mengelola majalah dinding ketika menjadi santri di pesantren. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aspek penggunaan majalah dinding oleh santri di beberapa pesantren di Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan berupaya mendeskripsikan fenomena atau objek penelitian sesuai dengan kondisi lapangan. Pendekatan yang tepat untuk mengonstruksi pendapat dan pengalaman yang dialami oleh peneliti dan informan adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Teori yang menjadi pedoman dalam penelitian ini adalah teori tindakan sosial, teori fenomenologi dan interaksi simbolik serta teori dramaturgi. Melalui wawancara dengan santri, hasil penelitian menunjukkan santri menggunakan majalah dinding di pesentrennya sebagai media komunikasi, kreativitas, kritik dan media referensi.

Abstract

Online media is a mass media that has high speed in spreading news, Suara.com and Okezone.com are the result of the online media. Applying Robert N. Entman's framing model to find out how Suara.com and Okezone.com package news from the perspective of highlighting issues from all aspects used in the news of the Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 plane crash. Using qualitative research methods and focusing more on logic and thinking logically. inductive. Overall, in this study, the highlighting issues on Suara.com and Okezone.com have similarities in conveying the chronology of the Sriwijaya Air plane crash. However, Okezone.com's neat, clear, and easy-to-understand news packaging makes it superior to Suara.com.
