Abstract

Papua Province is one of the regions with the highest tuberculosis cases in Indonesia. Especially in the Dosay Health Center's working area, in 2017 found 34 cases, 24 cases in 2018, and 32 cases in 2019. This study aimed to determine the number of cases of TB at the Dosay Public Health Center in 2017-2019, based on gender, age, location of TB anatomy, and place of residence. This study is a quantitative descriptive study. The data source was collected from the Tb case examination's medical record and then analyzed with a descriptive statistic. The results showed that in 2017 and 2018, TB patients tended to be more dominated by women, namely (59.3%) and (70.8%), respectively. While in 2019, the number of men with TB was (61.7%). The highest number of TB sufferers in 2017 was in the age group 25-34 years, namely (37.5%). Meanwhile, the 0-14-year age group was the highest in 2018 and 2019, namely (33.3%) and (47%). The number of pulmonary tuberculosis cases in 2017-2019 was higher than extrapulmonary tuberculosis. TB cases in 2017 were found mostly in Waibron Village and Maribu Village, namely (31.2%) and (28.8%). In 2018 Maribu Village had the highest, followed by Waibron Village, respectively (41.6%) and (29.1%). As for 2019, the most TB patients were found in Sabron Yaru Village with (32.3%). In conclusion, in 2017 and 2018, there were more female TB cases. While in 2019, the highest TB cases were in men. TB cases in 2017-2019 are mostly found in the age group <15 years. The anatomical location most commonly attacked by TB is the lungs. The areas with relatively high TB cases were Waibron, Maribu, and Sabron Yaru Village.

Abstract

Chlorine is a chemical that functions as water disinfection, often used in swimming pools to kill microorganisms such as pathogenic bacteria in the water. The general objective of this study was to determine the relationship between chlorine levels, and microbiological quality in swimming pool water in Jayapura City. This type of research is descriptive research with a cross-sectional design. Determination of residual chlorine content, and microbiological quality in this study was carried out using Spectrophotometry, and MPN Test methods. The results showed that the chlorine content of the swimming pool Wa 5.00 mg/l, Fu 0.23 mg/l, and Aj 0.13 mg/l. The examination of the coliform bacteria population showed that the MPN value in Wa coliform swimming pool water was 0/100 ml, and coliform stools were 0/100 ml. Swimming pool Fu coliform as much as 91/100 ml, and fecal coliform as much as  23 /100 ml. Swimming pool Aj coliform as much as >1100/100 ml, and fecal coliform as 20/100 ml. This study concludes that the chlorine levels in the Wa swimming pools, and the MPN swimming pools of Fu, and Aj are not under the Minister of Health Regulation No. 32 years 2017. Abstract

Areca nut (Areca catechu Linn) is a plant that is widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions. People have used it to treat various health problems. This study aims to determine the ability of betel nut ethanol extract to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria. The research method is experimental. Stages of research, first the betel nut is dried by aerating for 7-10 days. After drying, the seeds are ground into powder. The extraction stage of the active compounds uses the maceration method using 92% ethanol, evaporation is carried out using a rotary vacuum evaporator. The results of the maceration extract were carried out with phytochemical tests and bacterial inhibitory tests against E. coli, and S. aureus, carried out by the Kirby Bauer method. The detected metabolites were flavonoids, tannins and terpenoids. These metabolites have the ability as antimicrobials. The results of the inhibition test of the ethanol extract of areca nut seeds showed descriptively that the ethanol extract had a better inhibitory ability against S. aureus bacteria, compared to E. coli. The conclusion of this study is that the ethanol extract of areca nut seeds can inhibit the growth of E.coli and S.aureus.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Infeksi silang dari pasien ke pasien atau dari petugas rumah sakit ke pasien merupakan bahaya konstan. Ini adalah salah satu penyebab terpenting morbiditas dan mortalitas terutama di ruangIntensive Care Unit (ICU) di seluruh dunia. Tujuan:penelitian ini untuk mengamati angka kuman di ruang ICU Rumah Sakit RSUD Abepura dan Dian Harapan. Metode: penelitian ini adalah penelitiananalitik metode observasi laboratorium untuk mengetahui jumlah angka kuman di ruang ICU RSUD Abepura dan RS Dian Harapan Kota Jayapura. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah total populasi yaitu di RS Abepura dan RS Dian Harapan, sebanyak 1 ruangan dengan titik pengambilan sebanyak 5 titik pengambilan pada pagi hari dan sianghari. Tahapan penelitian ini di mulai dengan meletakan cawan petri yang berisi media PCA dan menghitung jumlah total angka kuman diruang ICU Rumah Sakit Abepura dan RS Dian Harapan. Hasil Penelitian: di RS Abepura jumlah indeks angka kuman pada ruang ICU pada pagi hari sebesar 40,4 CFU/M³, dan pada siang hari sebesar 34,8 CFU/M³. Sedangkan hasil penelitian di RS Dian Harapan pada ruang ICU pada pagi hari sebesar 41,4 CFU/M³, dan pada siang hari sebesar 77 CFU/M3. Kesimpulan: ruang ICU di RSUD Abepura dan RS Dian Harapan masih memenuhi syarat sesuai dengan baku mutu Permenkes no. 7 tahun 2019.
