Abstract

ABSTRACT Widhiasih, Luh Ketut Sri (2012). The Profile of Bilingual Education at Dyatmika Kindergarten. Tesis, Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Program Pascasarjana Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha Singaraja. This thesis has been examined and corrected by Supervisor I: Prof. Dr. Putu Kerti Nitiasih, M.A. and Supervisor II: Dra. Luh Putu Artini, M.A. Ph.D. This study was a phenomenology research involving descriptive-qualitative design. This study aimed at identifying profile of bilingual education at Dyatmika Kindergarten. This study was conducted in Dyatmika Kindergarten. The present study was conducted to the school personnel and community including the headmaster, four teachers and some students’ parents of Dyatmika Kindergarten. The data obtained in this study are qualitative data. The qualitative data were obtained from guided interview in the form of some related information, observation and document analysis. The data were gained through several research instruments, such as researcher as key instrument, list of guided interview questions, checklist, and observation sheet. The result of interview, observation, and document analysis data were analyzed descriptively using Interactive Model. This study found that Dyatmika Kindergarten had completely fulfilled the criteria of a good bilingual school, such as having and achieving clear school goals, having safe school climate, integrating bilingual program to school community, providing leadership and support for bilingual program, having quality personnel, having good relationship with parents and communities of the students, having quality curriculum, and instructions. Based on the result, Dyatmika Kindergarten could be proposed to be a model for other bilingual kindergarten.   Keywords: profile, bilingual education, bilingual kindergarten ABSTRAK Widhiasih, Luh Ketut Sri (2012). Subjek penelitian ini adalah warga dan komunitas sekolah yang mencakup kepala sekolah, empat guru, dan beberapa orang tua siswa Taman Kanak-Kanak Dyatmika. Data yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini berjenis data kualitatif. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari wawancara terstruktur, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan peneliti sebagai instrument kunci dan beberapa instrumen penelitian lain seperti lembar daftar pertanyaan wawancara terstruktur, checklist, dan lembar observasi. Hasil wawancara terstruktur, observasi dan analisis dokumen dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan Model Interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Taman Kanak-kanak Dyatmika telah dengan lengkap memenuhi kriteria-kriteria sebuah sekolah dwi-bahasa yang bagus, seperti memiliki tujuan sekolah yang jelas dan tercapai, memiliki iklim sekolah yang aman, mengintegrasikan program dwi bahasa dengan komunitas sekolah, menyediakan sistem kepemimpinan dan dukungan  untuk program dwi bahasa, memiliki personil berkualitas, memiliki hubungan yang baik dengan orang tua dan komunitas sekolah, memiliki kurikulum berkualitas dan instructions berkualitas. Berdasarkan temuan, Taman Kanak-kanak Dyatmika bisa diajukan sebagai sekolah model bagi taman kanak-kanak dwi-bahasa lainnya.   Kata kunci: profil, pendidikan dwi-bahasa, taman kanak-kanak dwi-bahasa

Abstract

The low reading skills of students in Indonesia compared to the International encourages the government to issue a strategic policies that seek to build a love of the Indonesian people to read. At the level of the school, teachers as an executor of a policy use various strategies to improve reading comprehension of their students. One of the strategies used is reading aloud strategy. The implementation of reading aloud strategy in schools is often misunderstood, so it requires a clearer understanding of what it is reading aloud strategy and how its implementation. Reading aloud strategy is not just a way to teach reading but also a way to build a love of reading value. Love reading value character is important to get more attention in the middle of the decline of  reading comprehension level of Indonesian students in the world level which can also affect the development of the country.

Abstract

Every era pushes people to have skills that can be used to support their life in that era. In this era, in this 21st century, people are also pushed to have minimum main four skills to support their life, such as communication skill, collaboration skill, critical thingking skill, and  ceative and inovative skill. One skill that should be developed in this era is communication skill. To communicate well, people need to have good listening skill. This skill should be exercised start from early age, for example elementary school. To make students mastering listening skill in communicative atmosphere, teachers need appropriate technique, such as dictogloss. Furthermore, this article will discuss about how to apply dictogloss in elementary school.

Abstract

The objective of this classroom action research was to know whether or not listening comprehension of the Basic Listening class students of English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training, Mahasaraswati Denpasar University academic year 2016/2017 can be improved through dictogloss technique. The present research was carried out through dictogloss technique in two cycles; each cycle consisted of two sessions. The data were collected by administering the instruments to the subjects. The result of the post test in each cycle showed that there was significant improvement of the subjects’ comprehension in listening. The subjects also gave positive responses toward the implementation of dictogloss technique in teaching and learning process. To sum up, the present classroom action research showed that listening comprehension of the Basic Listening class students of English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training, Mahasaraswati Denpasar University academic year 2016/2017 can be improved through dictogloss technique.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of ESCAPE learning model. The research conducted is Class Action Action Research (CAR) / Classroom Action Research (CAR). The data were collected using a writing test. Subjects in this study were high school students (SLUA) ??Saraswati 1 Denpasar academic year 2016/2017. In order to obtain the necessary results in data collection used valid instrument and reliable form of test. The data taken in this study were obtained from Pre-test and Post-test made by the researcher. The data obtained will be analyzed by comparing the level of percentage improvement of writing ability of English description essay starting from pre-test value until post-test. From the result of pre-test and post-test value that have been analyzed can be seen that skill of writing description essay at each meeting is increasing. It can be concluded that ESCAPE learning model is effective to improve students' writing skill especially description essay. This is because the ESCAPE learning model has several advantages that have a specific learning stages and is a student-centered learning.

Abstract

CocoHidro is a trademark engaged in the development and sale of bonsai with coconut plant species that use hydroponic planting techniques using water as its growing medium. CocoHidro has its own uniqueness compared to other types of bonsai because CocoHidro uses coconut plants which generally grow up to dozens of meters, but in the process of making CocoHidro the coconut plants are dwarfed by regular cutting of shoots carried out by trained, trained staff. so that it will produce a type of mini coconut tree that suits your wants and needs, which in the future the dwarfed coconut seedlings will be cleaned from the coconut fibers first before proceeding with hydroponic planting. The goal to be achieved from the manufacture of CocoHidro itself is to achieve a unique business opportunity for hydroponic coconut bonsai which can compete in the market and make a profit. CocoHidro has the opportunity to be popular in the market. This is because the products are unique and have artistic value. In contrast to most bonsai plants that use plants and planting media that are already common on the market.

Abstract

When learn from home becomes a new normal, teachers should switch the class to online. Meanwhile, mastering writing skill is still important in online class because the subjects will be able to express their ideas, feeling and experiences in the written form appropriately. The objective of this study was to find out whether or not writing skill of second semester students of English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training, Mahasaraswati Denpasar University in Academic year 2019/2020 could be improved trough Think Pair Share with distance learning model. The study was designed in the form of classroom action research. Based on the result of the pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire, it could be concluded that writing skill of the second semester students of English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training, Mahasaraswati Denpasar University in Academic Year 2019/2020 could be improved trough Think Pair Share with distance learning model.
