Abstract

Abstract Building projects have the complexity and massive frequency of procurement that can trigger work accidents. Although different efforts have been made, there are still work injuries, one of which is caused by employees who are uncomfortable with the control measures being taken. The aim of this analysis is to find alternatives or solutions in controlling OHS regulation. In order to assess the degree of risk, risk analysis was performed by multiplying the probability value with the concequence. Risk management was performed by referring to the hierarchy of OHS risk control based on OHSAS 18001. Questionnaires were administered using the method of purposeful sampling to assess the choice of field workers and OHS officers for OHS risk management. 168 hazards were described in this study, 24 hazards (14.2%) were classified as low risk, 94 hazards (55.95%) as moderate risk, 49 hazards (29.17%) as high risk, and 1 hazard (0.6%) as very high risk. From the point of view of the OHS officer, the preference for OHS risk control in the very high-risk category was the administrative method, the personal protective equipment (PPE) method in the high-risk category, and the engineering controls were liable for the moderate and low risks. In the meanwhile, from the point of view of the field workers, the control preference in the very high risk category was by administrative method, by the personal protective equipment (PPE) method in the high and moderate risks, and by the engineering controls in the low risk category.

Abstract

This research proposes to find out the present state of the water's purity in Tukad Badung through an examination of the Pollution Index (PI) adopted from the methodology presented by the Water Quality Index (WQI), which was presented by the Indonesian Ministry of Environment. A series of water samples were taken at three river flow points in the Denpasar City area, representing the upstream, middle, and downstream areas. The water quality parameters were determined based on the characteristics of domestic wastewater pollutant sources that are identified in watershed areas. In accordance with Regulation 22 of the Government of 2021 concerning quality standards for river water used for drinking water, the average concentrations of Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Ammonia, Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) parameters have exceeded quality standards. Meanwhile, the oil and grease parameter, as well as detergents, still meet quality standards. The PI at three monitoring points was obtained at 2.41 – 4.27, categorized as lightly polluted. In the future, efforts to deal with water pollution are critical to meet the downstream water quality standards used as drinking water.

Abstract

The Tukad Badung River is a vital raw water source in Denpasar City and Badung Regency. Concerning the water pollution of the river, water treatment is necessary to manage the water quality. Constructed wetlands are a water treatment technology used for water purification. In this regard, information is essential regarding the appropriate location for the placement of the constructed wetland based on criteria related to the water treatment plant. The research was conducted to determine the suitability level of water treatment locations in the watershed using the Analytic Hierarchy Process method in integration with a Geographic Information System. The Geographic Information System analysis included overlaying steps of the processed and classified data from each criterion: land use, slope, and water pollution index. The Analytic Hierarchy Process method was carried out to obtain the weight of each criterion down to the sub-criteria, which were compiled through interviews with three informants from academic, government, and community representatives. Weight calculations were performed using Expert Choice 11 software to obtain weight values with a consistency ratio of < 0.1. Geographic Information System analysis using the Analytic Hierarchy Process method produces three suitable land types according to the level of suitability for water treatment locations, with constructed wetlands located in the upstream, middle, and downstream parts of the river. Information regarding suitable land is useful for planning the technical design of water treatment plants with constructed wetlands.
