Abstract

Mutu dan kemanan pangan merupakan salah satu parameter standar yang harus dipenuhi produk pangan. Pada industri makanan ataupun usaha mikro kecil menengah (UMKM), salah satu usaha yang bisa dilakukan untuk menjaga mutu produk pangan adalah dengan menerapkan sanitasi dan higiene selama proses produksi/pengolahan. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan kegiatan sosialisasi sanitasi dan higiene pada industri (UMKM) produk pangan yang bertujuan memberikan transfer knowledge tentang sanitasi dan higiene yang dilaksanakan di UMKM bekasam Desa Meranjat 2, Kecamatan Indralaya Selatan, Ogan Ilir. Metode yang digunakan yaitu sosialisasi secara langsung melalui penyuluhan dan pendampingan pelaksanaan sanitasi dan higiene. Kegiatan penyuluhan dilaksanakan kepada lebih dari 30 UMKM di Desa Meranjat 2. Penyuluhan dilakukan dengan memberikan materi secara langsung dan melalui penyebaran/pembagian leaflet. Kegiatan berjalan dengan baik yang dilihat dari pengetahuan terkait sanitasi dan higiene meningkat dari 23% menjadi 78%. Kegiatan pendampingan sebagai upaya evaluasi juga dilakukan untuk melihat secara langsung terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan proses produksi bekasam dan produk perikanan lainnya di Desa Meranjat 2, Kecamatan Indralaya Utara, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir, Sumatera Selatan.

Abstract

Motivation is crucial in education, driving the learning process. Cooperative Problem-Based Learning (CPBL), an extension of Problem-Based Learning (PBL), enhances critical thinking and student motivation, especially in mechanical engineering education. However, research on CPBL’s motivational impact is limited. The MUSIC Model—comprising Empowerment, Usefulness, Success, Interest, and Caring—provides a framework to boost motivation. This study examines the synergy between CPBL and the MUSIC Model in mechanical engineering education. A mixed-method approach with a Sequential Explanatory design was used, involving students from a public university in Surakarta, Indonesia, enrolled in a sustainability-related course. Quantitative data were collected through MUSIC-based questionnaires, and qualitative data were obtained from semi-structured interviews. Descriptive statistics (SPSS) and the Miles & Huberman method analyzed the data. Results show that 60-90% of students report very high motivation across all components. The study suggests CPBL fosters motivation and develops essential 21st-century skills, preparing students for future challenges.

Abstract

Wot Batu merupakan karya seni instalasi dalam skala ruang yang diciptakan oleh Sunaryo pada tahun 2015 di Ciburial, Bandung. Konsep Lebenswelt (dunia kehidupan), sebagaimana dikemukakan oleh Edmund Husserl, hadir dalam karya ini melalui fenomena lingkungan sekitar, intuisi, emosi, serta pengalaman dan ingatan pribadi Sunaryo. Lebenswelt tersebut diwujudkan dalam suasana, bentuk, tekstur batu, dan tapak Wot Batu, yang merefleksikan pandangan pribadi dan spiritualitas Sunaryo. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-analitis untuk memahami bagaimana makna Lebenswelt dalam Wot Batu diterima oleh masyarakat. Data dikumpulkan melalui kajian literatur untuk memahami latar belakang Sunaryo serta observasi langsung terhadap elemen fisik Wot Batu. Wawancara mendalam dilakukan dengan staf dan pengunjung guna menggali perspektif mereka. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman spiritual Sunaryo dalam Wot Batu dapat terbaca oleh orang lain, meskipun dengan tingkat pemahaman yang berbeda.

Abstract

The implementation of thermal insulation within the walls of building constitutes a pivotal strategy aimed at mitigating cooling loads and augmenting energy efficiency, particularly in tropical climate conditions. In the preceding decade, scholars have progressively utilized both empirical and computational methodologies to evaluate the efficacy of insulation under diverse environmental and material parameters. Aims:  This study undertakes a comprehensive review of methodological frameworks in the domain of thermal insulation research for building walls conducted between 2020 and 2024, with an emphasis on hybrid experimental design that integrate physical measurements with digital simulations to yield more accurate, dependable, and contextually pertinent data. Methodology and results: A systematic literature review (SLR) encompassing 52 scholarly articles was performed, categorizing the studies into four distinct classifications: field studies, laboratory-based investigations, digital methodologies (e.g., EnergyPlus, TRISCO, ABAQUS), and hybrid methodologies. Among these, digital experimentation emerged as the most predominant methodology, with EnergyPlus identified as the most frequently utilized instrument. Research employing hybrid methodologies demonstrated enhanced analytical rigor through cross-validation, versatile scenario exploration, and comprehensive thermal performance assessment. Conclusion, significance, and impact study: Combining empirical data with digital experimentation significantly improves the precision and contextual relevance of thermal insulation evaluation. Hybrid methodologies facilitate the simulation of prolonged or extreme conditions that are often impractical to physically assess. Calibrated digital instruments such as EnergyPlus, TRISCO, ABAQUS, Delphin, and COMSOL are particularly effective. Especially for tropical climates, hybrid methodologies offer a robust framework for improving the design, applicability, and performance of building insulation systems.

Abstract

Pempek is a traditional food typical of the Palembang region in South Sumatra. Pempek is made from a mixture of ground fish and tapioca flour. This study aimed to determine the best formula for combining narrow-barred Spanish mackerel (Scomberomorus commerson) and barramundi (Lates calcarifer) based on the physical, chemical, and sensory characteristics of pempek. The experimental design was a randomized block design consisting of five treatment levels, each repeated three times: P1= 4:0, P2= 3:1, P3=2:2, P4= 1:3, and P5= 0:4. The research parameters used were proximate, physical, and sensory analyses. Proximate test results showed that the water content of pempek ranges from 53.65-56.27%, ash content 1.10-1.43%, fat content 0.35%-0.8%, protein content 7.05-8.42%, and carbohydrate levels 34.52-35.7%. The color test results for whiteness ranged from 54.90-59.32, lightness value 56.54-60.30, hue value 107.75-113.39°, and chroma value 8.89-13.17. The results of the pempek hardness test ranged from 22.7–24.87 N. The sensory test results for aroma were 5.08-5.36, and taste were 4.68-6.36. Based on all research parameters, the best combination of pempek was in treatment P4 (1:3).

Abstract

Daur ulang limbah masker menjadi material komposit berpenguat serat bambu merupakan cara alternatif untuk mengurangi penumpukan limbah masker yang membahayakan lingkungan selama pandemi covid-19. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi fraksi massa campuran serat bambu terhadap sifat mekanis pada komposit limbah masker. Pada penelitian dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen ini, dikembangkan komposit berbasis limbah masker medis berpenguat serat bambu dengan variasi fraksi massa serat sebesar 0%, 4%, 8%, 12%, dan 16%. Sifat mekanik diukur dari nilai rata-rata kekuatan tarik dan kekuatan impak dari lima spesimen pada tiap variasi. Analisis hasil penelitian dilakukan secara deskriptif berdasarkan nilai kekuatan material dan visualisasi patahan spesimen dari Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh fraksi masa serat bambu terhadap kekuatan material komposit berbasis limbah masker. Kekuatan tarik tertinggi terdapat pada variasi 0% sebesar 18,6 MPa dan terendah pada variasi 8% sebesar 10,3 MPa. Sedangkan, kekuatan impak tertinggi terdapat pada variasi 0% sebesar 7,84 kJ/  dan terendah pada variasi 8% sebesar 1,76 kJ/ . Meningkatnya jumlah serat bambu pada matriks limbah masker menyebabkan penurunan sifat mekanik material.

Abstract

Pandemi COVID-19 meningkatkan limbah masker sekali pakai secara signifikan, menghasilkan mikroplastik yang sulit terurai dan berbahaya bagi lingkungan. Masalah ini mendorong penelitian untuk mengembangkan solusi berbasis daur ulang menggunakan polymer blend dengan penambahan compatibilizer untuk meningkatkan sifat mekanis. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis efek compatibilizer Maleic Anhydride Grafted Polypropylene (MAPP) pada polymer blend berbahan polypropylene limbah masker sekali pakai. Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimen dengan desain kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari spesimen polymer blend dengan variasi komposisi limbah masker (70-100%), polypropylene daur ulang (30%), dan compatibilizer MAPP (0-3%). Sebanyak 5 spesimen diuji untuk masing-masing variasi menggunakan standar ASTM D638 untuk uji tarik dan ASTM D256 untuk uji impak. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengujian mekanik dan dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan compatibilizer meningkatkan sifat tarik dan impak polymer blend secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan campuran tanpa compatibilizer. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa polymer blend berbasis limbah masker dengan compatibilizer MAPP dapat menjadi alternatif material ramah lingkungan dengan sifat mekanik yang lebih baik, berpotensi sebagai produk hijau bernilai komersial. Implikasinya, metode ini mendukung pengelolaan limbah plastik berkelanjutan dan ekonomi sirkular.

Abstract

Recycling used face masks into useful products is an alternative way to reduce the accumulation of medical waste during the COVID-19 period. The main objective of this study was to determine the effect of injection molding parameters of barrel temperature, molding temperature, and cooling time on tensile strength and plastic shrinkage during the recycling process of used disposable face masks. The study utilized a Design of Experiment (DoE) using the Taguchi Orthogonal L9 method. In this current study, the barrel temperatures were set at 170oC, 190oC, and 220oC. with the molding temperatures used are 45°C, 60°C, and 75°C, while the values of cooling time were 26s, 43s, and 52s. The tensile test was carried out according to the ASTM D638 type V standard for measuring the strength of materials. The findings demonstrate that the most important factor in achieving the highest tensile strength is the molding temperature, which contributes 34.54% and is best combined with a barrel temperature of 170°C, a molding temperature of 60°C, and a cooling period of 52s. By contributing 54.40% to the parameter combination of barrel temperature of 170°C, molding temperature of 45°C, and cooling time of 52s, the molding temperature becomes the most crucial factor to produce the least amount of shrinkage

Abstract

Internship (INTERNSHIP) is an important part of the vocational education curriculum in vocational high schools, including SMK Negeri 1 Gesi. However, its implementation often faces various obstacles, such as inefficient communication, delayed reporting, and difficulties in monitoring student progress. To address these issues, an Internship monitoring system has been developed with the aim of optimizing the learning process. Therefore, this research aims to develop a internship monitoring system that is suitable for use by vocational high school students to support their activities. The research method applied in this study is research and development adopting the Alessi & Trollip model. The research subjects include software/media experts, content experts, and teachers. Data collection is carried out using observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data obtained from the research is then analyzed qualitatively descriptively and quantitatively in terms of percentage. The research results show that in the alpha testing phase, the internship monitoring system product received a High Validity qualification from experts. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the internship monitoring system product deserves the category of  high feasibility to use as an application or system to support a series of internship activities, both for teachers and students.
