Abstract

Introduction: Lack of physical activities or sedenetary lifestyle will affect the abilities of body, one of them is body balance, which causes several problems that are related with motor skills and one of them is increased possibililty of injury as the result of the muscle is not accustomed to hold weight more than normal activities. Improving body balance can be done by training muscles which have function to maintain the balance. Research Objectives: This study aims to identify the combination of wobble board exercise and core stability exercise is better compared to calf raise exercise and core stability exercise in improving body balance of students with love physical activities. Methods: This research used experimental methods pre and post test two group design with. The experimental group was given wobble board exercise and core stability exercise, while the control group was given calf raise exercise and core stability exercise. The number of sample in each group is 18 people and each of the group was given 3 times in a week of exercise for 6 weeks. The balance measurement in this study used standing stork test. Result: The research result is the body balance Experimental Group is increase with mean pre test score is 10,80±4,64 seconds becomes 26,51±5,41 seconds during post test, and p = 0,001. In Control Group, there is an increase body balance with mean pre test 8,39±4,51 becomes 20,54±5,18 during post test and p = 0,001. There is a significant difference in the increase of body balance in Experimental Group and Control Group with p = 0,002 (p < 0,05). Conclusion: The combination of wobble board exercise and core stability exercise is better than the combination of calf raise exercise and core stability exercise in improving body balance of students with low physical activities. Abstract

Obesitas terjadi karena ketidakseimbangan energi dalam jangka waktu lama di mana asupan energi lebih besar dibandingkan pengeluarannya. Pada orang obese memiliki akumulasi lemak yang abnormal di adalam tubuh seperti lipatan bawah kuliat dan jaringan lainnya sehingga keluaran energi lebih rendah. Aktivitas fisik mendorong peningkatan keluaran energi total baik secara akut maupun kronis Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membuktikan efek akut pada latihan interval intensitas sedang terhadap peningkatan basal metabolic rate (BMR)setelah latihan pada perempuan obesitas. Jenis penelitian ini termasuk penelitian field experimental dengan jenis rancangan the pretest and posttest . Subjek adalah karyawan perempuan yang bekerja di Nurul Hayat Surabaya usia kisaran 19-32 tahun. Subjek berjumlah 7 orang sebagai unit eksperimen. Perlakuan berupa latihan interval intensitas sedang 75-85% MHR. Penelitian ini dilakukan tiga kali pengukuran pretest (sebelum latihan), posttest 1 (30 menit setelah latihan) dan posttest 2 (22-24 jam setelah latihan). BMR di ukur menggunakan Spirometer Harvard Apparatus. Hasil penelitian Latihan interval tidak terdapat perubahan peningkatan bermakna pada pengukuran hari pertama pretest – posttest 1 (30 menit setelah latihan) dan terjadi perubahan peningkatan bermakna pada hari kedua posttest 2 (22-24 jam setelah latihan).

Abstract

Setiap kegiatan motorik memerlukan koordinasi antara mata dan tangan yang baik. Melalui optimalisasi kemampuan koordinasi antara mata dan tangan akan terjadi peningkatan kemampuan motorik dan kognitif anak yang berguna untuk proses belajarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian metode brain gym terhadap peningkatan kemampuan koordinasi mata dan tangan pada anak pra-sekolah. Sampel terdiri dari 12 anak, perempuan dan laki - laki, dengan rentang umur 5 sampai 6 tahun. Diberikan latihan Brain Gym selama 6 minggu, dengan interval latihan 1 minggu 3 kali sesi latihan. Purdue pegboard test digunakan sebagai instrument pengukuran dengan evaluasi yang terdiri dari 4 nilai, yaitu Tangan Dominan (TD), Tangan tidak Dominan (TTD), Kedua Tangan (KT) dan Merakit (MR). Hasilnya terdapat peningkatan nilai pada TD, KT dan MR dengan p-value = 0,001 dan TTD dengan p-value = 0,002 (p < 0,05), yang bermakna brain gym berpengaruh dan efektif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan koordinasi mata dan tangan pada anak pra-sekolah.

Abstract

Kurangnya aktivitas fisik atau gaya hidup sedentary akan berpengaruh pada kemampuan tubuh, salah satunya adalah keseimbangan tubuh, sehingga menimbulkan beberapa permasalahan yang berhubungan kemampuan motorik, salah satunya adalah meningkatnya kemungkinan cedera akibat tidak terbiasanya otot dalam menahan beban yang lebih dari aktivitas yang biasanya. Untuk meningkatkan keseimbangan tubuh manusia, adalah dengan melatih otot yang berperan dalam menjaga keseimbangan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi calf raise exercise dan core stability exercise dalam meningkatkan keseimbangan tubuh pada mahasiswa jurusan fisioterapi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan penelitian pre and post test design. Para responden diarahkan untuk melakukan calf raise exercise dan core stability exercise. Jumlah responden sebanyak 18 orang, latihan diberikan 3 kali seminggu selama 6 minggu. Pengukuran keseimbangan tubuh menggunakan standing stork test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan keseimbangan dimana nilai mean diman terdapat perbedaan pada nilai pre test dan post test serta di dapatkan nilai p = 0,001 (p < 0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu kombinasi calf raise exercise dan core stability exercise berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan keseimbangan tubuh pada mahasiswa jurusan Fisioterapi Poltekkes Kemenkes Makassar.

Abstract

Kasus ganggguan neurologis system saraf pusat anak semakin meningkat tiap tahun, khususnya cerebral palsy dan traumatic brain injury. Kondisi umum tubuh anak dengan gangguan neurologis sistem saraf pusat yang mayoritas mengalami imobilisasi tentu akan menurun. Suhu menjadi Salah satu kondisi tubuh yang menurun pada anak bahkan anak tersebut sampai masuk dalam kategori hipotermia. Exercise sederhana dan mudah yang secara rutin dilakukan di rumah merupakan salah satu perlakuan sederhana agar temperatur tubuh anak selalu terjaga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat efek adaptive exercise terhadap temperatur tubuh anak yang memiliki gangguan neurologis sistem saraf pusat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental one grup pre dan post test. Subyek perempuan 11 orang dan laki laki 20 orang dengan rentang umur 2 – 10 tahun. Adaptive exerceise terdiri dari warming up waktu 5 menit, core movement waktu 25 menit, dan cooling down waktu 5 menit. Data diuji dengan paired T test. suhu tubuh pre test ( 36,12 ± 0,53) oC, suhu tubuh post test (36,63 ± 0,6) oC dan p = 0,00. Adaptive exercise dapat menaikan temperatur tubuh tetapi peningkatan temperatur tersebut masih didalam rentang yang normal.

Abstract

Forward head posture (FHP) is a type of postural that is generally described with the head tilted anteriorly/front. The wrong posture like FHP can affect the condition of certain body parts. The point of the Center of Gravity that moves will cause an uneven distribution of body weight and will disrupt the line of gravity which is a biomechanical component of the body’s balance. HoweverGood body balance can be obtained by doing regular physical activity and exercise. This study aims to find out whether or not there is a correlation between forwarding head posture conditions and disruption of dynamic balance in individuals who are actively exercising. In this study, the design used was a cross-sectional approach. The measurement of the degree of forward head posture uses the craniovertebral angle, while the measurement of dynamic balance uses the Modified Bass Test. In the results of the correlation test with Spearman’s Rank, the correlation coefficient value (sig.2-tailed) was 0.361 with a confidence interval (alpha) of 0.05 for the 2-sided test. With a significance of 0.361> 0.05, it shows that the Forward Head Posture condition does not have a significant relationship with Dynamic Balance in Umsida Sports UKM Students.

Abstract

Background: The activity of using a smartphone for a long time in a static position and bad posture, will result in Mechanical neck pain (MNP), which is known as a neck condition caused by change in the cervical curve to flatten due to overload on the muscles, ligaments, joints, and bones of the neck at the back and the muscles of the upper back and shoulders. The effectiveness of adding ultrasound to the McKenzie’s neck exercise (MNE) intervention to reduce MNP. Methods: The study used a quasi-experimental method with a pre and post-two-group design. The number of samples was 20 research subjects experiencing chronic non-specific MNP, not experiencing spondylolisthesis, fracture, and hernia nucleus pulposus in the cervical area. Group I was given the MNE and ultrasound, and group II was give MNE only. This research was conducted three times a week for four weeks at the Action and Hydrotherapy Laboratory. The measuring tool used is the northwick neck pain tool. Normality test using Shapiro Wilk test and homogeneity test using Lavene's test. Paired sample t-test was used to determine the effectiveness of the intervention of the two groups in reducing MNP, and an independent sample t-test was to see the difference in the effect of the intervention results of the two groups. Results: The characteristics of study respondents by age were in the average range of 19.7±0.9 years for group I and 19.6±0.6 years for group II. Based on other data, groups I and II decreased pain significantly after their respective treatments (p =0.04). There is no significant difference effect after interventions between the group I and group II (p >0.05). Conclusions: The program of MNE only effectively reduced MNP with the same good effect as the MNE with ultrasound therapy in subject with MNE. The addition of ultrasound to the MNE does not have a significant effect on pain reduction.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD’s) merupakan problematik yang banyak dikeluhkan pada masa lanjut usia. Hal ini dikarenakan aktivitas berat yang berulang dan terus menerus dilakukan dalam jangka waktu yang lama misalnya pada aktivitas nelayan dan bertani. Mengacu pada masalah tersebut dilakukan analisis terhadap beberapa lansia di desa Kepetingan dan desa Sumberejo kabupaten Sidoarjo. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan aktivitas fisik dengan keluhan musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) pada lansia. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian observasional dengan rancangan cross sectional, dengan jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 50 orang lansia yang masih aktif sebagai nelayan dan petani. Metode penelitian yang digunakan merupakan metode analitik dengan menggunakan kuesioner Nordic Body Map (NBM) untuk mengukur Musculoskeletal disorders dan Physical Activity Scale for Eldery (PASE) untuk aktivitas fisik. Hasil: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan aktivitas fisik dengan keluhan musculoskeletal disorders pada lansia denga nilai (p= 0,049). Kesimpulan: Semakin berat aktivitas yang dilakukan, semakin meningkatkan keluhan musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Referring to this problem, an analysis was carried out on several elderly people in Kepetingan village and Sumberejo village, Sidoarjo district. Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between physical activity and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in the elderly. Methods: This research is an observational study with a cross-sectional design, with a total sample of 50 elderly people who are still active as fishermen and farmers. The research method used is an analytical method using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire to measure Musculoskeletal Disorders and the Physical Activity Scale for Elderly (PASE) for physical activity. Results: The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between physical activity and complaints of musculoskeletal disorders in the elderly with a value (p=0.049). Abstract

Good posture is when the head, shoulders, spine, waist, knees and ankles are all in a straight line. Lack of awareness of students about the importance of maintaining good posture will cause bad posture which has the potential to trigger abnormalities in the spine. This community service program is one of the government's efforts to improve the quality of life and productivity with good posture for students at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Tulangan, Sidoarjo. This program is expected to increase awareness of good posture in students The method used in this activity is education with lectures, practice and demonstration methods by using teaching aids as a tool in the educational process. The props used when measuring posture using the postural zone and for practicing Mckenzie Exercise and Stretch for neck and shoulder pain using a mat and foam roller props. The success of this community service program for students can be seen from the increase in knowledge by 50%, increasing awareness of good posture in students by 75%, increasing the number of questions from students related to the material presented by 50% and the number of students experiencing a significant increase in pre-test and post-test scores by 70%.

Abstract

Sepak bola merupakan olahraga dengan risiko cedera terbesar bagi atlet wanita, dengan tingkat cedera yang tinggi. Tingkat kekuatan, kelincahan dan keseimbangan tubuh yang lebih rendah adalah prediktor yang baik untuk cedera otot di masa depan. Pemeriksaan kekuatan dan kelincahan atlet sepakbola putri berusia 14 – 22 tahun dilakukan guna melihat resiko cedera dan apa yang harus ditingkatkan pada atlit sebelum masuk musim pertandingan.  Hasil yang didapatkan bahwa kelincahan atlit sepakbola wanita sebanyak 83% masih buruk dan perlu ditingkatkan sedangkan untuk kekuatan otot paha sudah di level diatas rata rata dan baik sebanyak 47% dan 23% sehingga resiko cedera akibat kelemahan otot masih minim.   Kata kunci: Kelincahan, Kekuatan, Atlet wanita
