Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perceptions of Jember University students regarding the implementation of social justice values on campus, including aspects of equality in academic guidance, campus facilities, and attention and support from the campus. The research method used a quantitative descriptive approach with data collection through a Likert-scale questionnaire completed by students from various faculties using a simple random sampling technique. The results showed that the majority of students assessed the implementation of social justice values as running well, with an average score of positive perception (4.1 out of 5). These findings indicate that the university has strived to implement the principle of equality without discrimination, provide adequate access to facilities, and support solidarity among students. However, several challenges such as limited disability-friendly facilities and inequality in social participation still require attention. The implementation of social justice values is strengthened by students' social awareness and an inclusive campus culture. This study provides recommendations for increasing inclusivity and strengthening social justice values through sustainable policies and programs as an actualization of Pancasila values in the higher education environment.

Abstract

Strengthening Pancasila-based education at the University of Jember is a strategic step in facing the challenges of the national digitalization era. Through a learning approach that instills moral, social, and national values, students are guided to develop ethical, critical, and responsible digital literacy skills. This research employed qualitative methods, including literature review techniques and observations of educational programs at UNEJ. The results indicate that integrating Pancasila values into the learning process strengthens students' character as agents of social change who are adaptive to technological developments. The implementation of Pancasila-based education also encourages collaboration, mutual cooperation, and social awareness in the digital world. Therefore, strengthening Pancasila-based education is a crucial foundation for creating a young generation with character, digital literacy, and global competitiveness without losing their identity as Indonesians.

Abstract

Indonesian literature plays an important role in instilling human values, particularly through works that address social issues and justice. Pramoedya Ananta Toer’s novel Bumi Manusia, set in the era of Dutch colonial rule in the East Indies, portrays human conflicts such as racial discrimination, legal injustice, and the oppression of indigenous people. This article analyzes the implementation of the value of "A Just and Civilized Humanity" as the second principle of Pancasila through the novel Bumi Manusia in Pancasila education. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with methods of literary document analysis, literature review, and observation of student learning. The results of the analysis show that the novel embodies human values including equality, respect for human dignity, social justice, courage to fight oppression, and tolerance. Characters such as Minke, Nyai Ontosoroh, and Annelies represent the struggle to uphold human dignity. Through deep reflection on the characters and conflicts in the novel, students are able to identify the relevance of Pancasila values in the context of national and societal life in the modern era. In conclusion, integrating literary works into Pancasila education opens a space for critical dialogue on the application of human values, enabling students not only to understand Pancasila theoretically but also to apply it as an ethical guide in addressing contemporary humanitarian challenges.
