Abstract

The poverty rate is used as one of the benchmarks for assessing the success of a nation's development. This study aims to determine the effect of economic growth and human development index (HDI) on poverty levels. The data used is secondary data published by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of West Sumatra Province from 2010 to 2021 detailed for 19 (nineteen) districts/cities. The number of samples in this study was 228 (two hundred twenty-eight) observations. Data analysis is done by multiple linear analysis of panel data using the help of the Eviews program. The results of the analysis show that the poverty rate is proven to be significantly influenced by economic growth and human development index. Partially, the variable poverty rate is influenced by economic growth in a negative direction, but the effect is not significant. The poverty level variable is also proven to be influenced by the human development index with a significant negative value.

Abstract

As technological advancement continues to accelerate, automation-based solutions have become increasingly relevant for implementation in the Indonesian agricultural sector. One manifestation of this technological progress is the utilization of robotic systems to support various agricultural activities. This research aims to design and develop a microcontroller-based line follower robot capable of automatically following designated paths to facilitate the transportation of tomato harvests in agricultural areas. The study employs an experimental approach encompassing hardware design, electronic circuit design, software programming, and mechanical assembly. The robot integrates a five-sensor TCRT5000 infrared array for line tracking navigation and a TCS3200 color sensor for tomato classification based on ripeness indicators. Testing results demonstrated that temporal variations on the red and yellow paths were influenced by braking maneuver differences, sensor color response characteristics, and motor speed during turning operations. From fifteen color sensor trials, the system achieved 66.6% accuracy with ten correct detections and five misclassifications. The combination of five line sensors (S0 to S4) successfully determined directional movement, functioning as the primary navigation system in conjunction with the color sensor for routing decisions at intersections. Testing of the L298N motor driver confirmed effective wheel control, producing straight-line motion, left and right pivot rotations, and complete stops according to programmed motor input combinations. The developed system demonstrates the feasibility of integrating line-following navigation with color-based classification for automated post-harvest transportation in agricultural settings.

Abstract

The development of Korean culture through the Korean Wave phenomenon in Indonesia has driven increased consumer interest in Korean-inspired products. However, in practice, not all retail businesses adopting this concept are able to consistently maintain consumer purchasing interest. This also presents a challenge for Citra Express Padang, which must ensure that its product trend strategy and store atmosphere truly influence customers' purchasing decisions. This study aims to analyze and determine the extent of the influence of the Korean Wave product trend and store atmosphere on consumer purchasing interest at Citra Express Padang, both partially and simultaneously. This study used a quantitative approach, with a population of all consumers who have shopped at least once at Citra Express Padang. The sample size was 100 respondents, using non-probability sampling techniques, including accidental and purposive sampling. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires and then processed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS 25) analysis tool through multiple linear regression tests to obtain objective results. The research results show that the Korean Wave product trend and store atmosphere simultaneously influence consumer purchase intention by 43.6%, while other factors outside this study contribute 56.4%. These findings indicate that Citra Express needs to increase product innovation and strengthen store atmosphere elements to maximize purchase intention in the future.

Abstract

Purpose This community service was initiated to address the lack of standardization and limited engagement in the implementation of Safety Talk sessions at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Divre II West Sumatera. Despite being conducted regularly, these HSE communication activities lacked clear structure, facilitator guidance, and evaluation mechanisms, which hindered their effectiveness in fostering a preventive safety culture. Methods - The activity adopted a participatory and qualitative approach, involving field observation during a student internship, stakeholder interviews, and collaborative intervention design. Key stages included needs assessment, SOP drafting, facilitator training design, internal coaching sessions, and validation. Result and Discussions - The intervention successfully produced a structured Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) tailored to the organization’s Safety Talk program, alongside a facilitator training module to enhance communication skills and session delivery. Internal coaching sessions validated the practicality of both tools, leading to increased engagement and positive feedback from participants. The program documentation was formally handed over to the organization as part of the knowledge transfer process. Conclusion - The integration of SOP and facilitator training transformed Safety Talk from a routine obligation into a strategic platform for HSE awareness and behavioral change. To sustain impact, continuous monitoring, institutional support, and regular capacity building are recommended. This model offers a replicable framework for strengthening HSE communication in other high-risk industries.
