Abstract

This research aims to analyze the construction of social media in the context of political hegemony during the first round of the 2024 Indonesian presidential debate. Employing a social media analysis approach, this study explores how social media serves as a crucial platform in shaping and directing public opinion and how viral narratives can influence political dynamics and polarization in society. The findings reveal that social media plays a significant role as the primary platform creating a polarization of public opinion, dividing users into pro and contra groups regarding the presidential candidates. Dominant narratives are often triggered by controversial speeches or responses, sparking emotional and intense discussions among social media users. This research also highlights the importance of contextual understanding and the sustainability of facts in addressing challenges posed by distorted perceptions in the digital world. Small groups with extreme views play a crucial role in creating an echo chamber, where their perspectives are reinforced and influence wider conversations. Panelists and debate moderators also have a significant impact on shaping perceptions of presidential Candidates performances. This study provides in-depth insights into the complex dynamics of social media in the political context, opening the door to a better understanding of its influence on public opinion and social political dynamics.

Abstract

The convergence of traditional media with metaverse technology has revolutionized interactive broadcasting by blending immersive experiences with real-time interactivity. This study explores the integration of media convergence and metaverse-driven platforms, highlighting their transformative impact on audience engagement, technological innovations, and the challenges related to infrastructure, cost, and ethical considerations. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative and quantitative research. A comprehensive literature review established the theoretical foundation, while case studies of metaverse-enabled events, such as virtual concerts and immersive news reports, provided real-world insights. Semi-structured interviews with industry professionals offered expert perspectives on adoption barriers and strategies. Quantitative metrics, including audience retention rates and interaction times, were analyzed alongside industry reports to validate findings. The findings reveal a significant increase in audience engagement, with metaverse-driven platforms achieving 150% longer interaction times and a 20% higher retention rate than traditional formats. Technological enablers, such as VR, AR, Blockchain, and AI, were identified as key drivers of this transformation, facilitating immersive storytelling, secure digital transactions, and personalized content delivery. However, challenges persist, including high infrastructure costs, regional disparities in technological access, and ethical concerns over data privacy and intellectual property disputes. Metaverse broadcasting redefines audience interaction by enabling users to participate actively in content creation and exploration.

Abstract

Crisis events in the digital era unfold across multiple online platforms simultaneously, forcing organizations to move beyond traditional public relations models. This article examines digital communication strategies for crisis management by synthesizing findings from twenty-five peer-reviewed studies published between 2021 and 2026, spanning government, corporate, health, tourism, and higher-education contexts. Using a systematic literature review method, the study analyzes patterns of dialogic communication, two-way engagement, disinformation countermeasures, and the emerging role of artificial intelligence in shaping crisis responses. The review identifies four core strategic pillars: transparency and timeliness, dialogic two-way interaction, platform-specific message tailoring, and post-crisis reputation recovery. Findings show that organizations combining rapid, transparent messaging with sustained two-way engagement on social media achieve markedly higher public trust and faster reputational recovery than those relying on one-way broadcasting. The novelty of this study lies in integrating recent research on AI-mediated crisis communication with classical Situational Crisis Communication Theory and dialogic communication theory into one cross-sector framework. The article concludes that effective digital crisis communication requires institutional readiness, cross-platform coordination, continuous sentiment monitoring, and responsible technology adoption. These findings offer theoretical and practical guidance for communication practitioners, policymakers, and scholars seeking to strengthen organizational resilience within an increasingly volatile digital information environment.
