Abstract

The contact between ball and tennis racket is a collision phenomenon. The ball exerts a force on the racket which causes deflection. This study aims to obtain the deflection characteristics of a tennis racket due to ball contact. The research was conducted by experiment with Kinetic brand rackets. The racket is clamps on the grip. The ball used is Nassau brand with 0.058 kg of mass. Free fall is arranged 1, 2 and 3 meters heights, with 3 hitting points on racket string. The deflection measurement uses the pen method at 5 points on racket frame. Five points are arranged sequentially from the grip with 6 cm distance. Data collection was carried out with 3 repetitions to get average value. The deflection was measured using a caliper with 0.01 mm accuracy. The results show that the deflection has a linear characteristic and depends on the momentum of the ball.

Abstract

Sifat mampu basah sebuah permukaan padat menggambarkan kemampuan fluida cair untuk mempertahankan kontak dengan permukaan tersebut. Sifat hidropobik bulu burung dapat menjadi bahan pengembangan material di bidang aviasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan karakteristik hidropobik bulu burung jenis predator nokturnal. Jenis burung yang dikaji adalah burung predator nocturnal yaitu Cabak Mees (Caprimulgus meesi) dan burung hantu jenis Serak Jawa (Tyto alba). Bulu yang dikaji adalah bulu bagian sayap. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan droplet yang divariasi volumenya sebesar 0,025; 0,05 dan 0,1 ml untuk bulu sisi atas dan bawah. Pengukuran sudut kontak droplet dilakukan menggunakan Microsoft Visio Professional 2002 SR-1. Kontur permukaan bulu diamati menggunakan mikroskop digital USB. Foto kontur permukaan diolah dengan aplikasi ImageJ versi 1.53k untuk mendapatkan surface plot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bulu burung Cabak Mees dan burung hantu memiliki sifat hidropobik. Bulu burung hantu memiliki sifat hidropobik yang lebih baik.

Abstract

Given Indonesia's growing population and economic development, the country is experiencing a greater need for fuel. There are now a number of alternative fuels available to lessen the ongoing need on fuel oil. One of the most affordable, cleaner, and readily available fuels worldwide is liquefied petroleum gas, or LPG. The geometric design of the burner, the flow dynamics contained in the non-premix flame flow structure and its function to stabilize the combustion process play an important role in the mixing process between fuel and air. The purpose of this research is to ascertain how nozzle thread changes affect the flame characteristics of burning LPG (liquified petroleum gas) fuel. In order to create an effective and efficient burner design, thread variations can be used to establish the properties of the diffusion combustion flame, such as flame stability and combustion temperature. Abstract

The need for automotive material products will increase with the increasing variety of types, brands and needs for the number of motorized vehicles in Indonesia. The more uncertain the economic conditions in Indonesia, the higher the drive to produce automotive material products that are economical, of good quality and acceptable to the market, one of which is from coco fiber. This study aims to obtain the effect of the type and ratio of a mixture of coconut coir and aluminum powder on the characteristics of the brake pads. Prior to data collection, the brake pads are affixed to the stamp pad. Data collection was carried out by swiping the test object (brake pads) on sandpaper number 40, 150, and 320. Where the brake pads were loaded with 1 kg. as a result of testing provides that use coconut coir fiber which has more composition results in longer and wider strokes

Abstract

The amount of sawdust in sengon is abundant, so it is necessary to reduce the proportion of sawdust in sengon. This research aims to utilize sawdust and bark of buto sengon. The research was carried out experimentally, where variations in particle size were mixed with adhesive and given a pressure of 1 ton. Mechanical test is carried out by giving a loading of 50; 100; and 150 grams. The test results show that the use of sengon bark powder provides a better load-bearing ability than sengon stems.

Abstract

Pada rogram pengabdian ini merupakan bentuk kegiatan rutin tahunan yang telah ditetapkan sebagai bentuk sumbangsih Fakultas Teknik, Program Studi Teknik Mesin Universitas PGRI Banyuwangi. Tujuan kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari upaya untuk mengurangi beban ekonomi masyarakat di masa pandemi Covid 19. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan secara langsung dimana masyarakat diberikan informasi melalui media tentang layanan servis sepeda motor gratis dengan tetap mematuhi protocol pencegahan penularan Covid 19. Kegiatan ini juga menjadi bagian dari upaya pengembangan skill mahasiswa teknik mesin Universitas PGRI Banyuwangi.
