Abstract

The waste problem is still a hot issue in several regions in Indonesia, especially in the Landak district of West Kalimantan. Population growth is accelerating and economic growth is indicated by increased production and consumption activities. So what happened at BTN Bisma, located in Ngabang sub-district, Landak district, West Kalimantan, had problems with waste disposal. At BTN Bisma there is only one large trash can in the shape of a truck. Garbage at BTN Bisma is picked up about once a week, so that around the garbage truck bins on a daily basis you can often see garbage piled up outside the tailgate, because the trash can can no longer accommodate garbage, so garbage is scattered outside the trash bin. This sight is certainly very unpleasant, even disgusting because it smells bad. Seeing this fact, our service team has done service at BTN Bisma in the form of making organic liquid fertilizer produced from household waste. The method used in this service is to conduct house-to-house outreach about how to process waste using stacked plastic buckets which can produce organic liquid fertilizer. After being processed for two months, the waste is made into organic liquid fertilizer which is very useful for fertilizing plants, both flower plants around the house and vegetables in the garden.

Abstract

The use of unmanned aircraft (UAV) or drones, apart from being used for mapping, can be a solution for quickly obtaining information and carrying out forest inventories with very detailed resolution results. Plantation Monitoring Assessment (PMA) aged 6 months is an initial inventory activity, later the data from PMA 6 will be the basic data for subsequent PMA. So, with drones, it is hoped that satisfactory results will be obtained. Apart from that, drones can be used to count the number of live and dead trees as well as empty spots. This research aims to compare the results of tree calculations directly in the field with the results of drone photos. This research was carried out on 6 month old Eucalyptus pellita plants in compartment A034, Baserah Sector, PT. RAPP. Data collection was carried out using systematic random sampling with a sampling intensity of 1%. The data taken is in the form of data on the number of live and dead/empty plants in the field and photographed with a drone. The test was carried out to test the differences in the number of dead/empty plants directly in the field and calculations using drone photos, namely the t test. The results showed that there was no difference between the number of live and dead/empty plants in the field and from drone photos.

Abstract

Bali cattle is one of Indonesia's local cattle that has high economic potential. The quality of the semen used plays an important role as a factor in the success of artificial insemination (AI) programs. Climate change, including temperature variations, rainfall, and length of solar exposure, can affect the quality of fresh semen produced by bulls. Differences in environmental conditions can affect semen characteristics, such as spermatozoa concentration, motility, and morphology, which in turn have an impact on the field fertility rate. The aim of this study is to explore the differences in male fertility based on environmental conditions that change throughout the seasons. The research method used in this study is non-experimental, using secondary data on the quality of fresh semen and frozen semen production collected from the Regional AI Center, Bali Province. In addition, this study also used data from the big data of the National Animal Health Information System (iSIKHNAS) to calculate field fertility represented by conception rate. Climate data was obtained from the Indonesian Agency for Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysics (BMKG) Bali Province, the data collected was climate data in Tabanan Regency. The differences in the appearance of fresh semen quality, frozen semen production, and field fertility were analyzed using the Independent T-Test. In this study, there was no significant difference in fresh semen quality, frozen semen production, and field fertility (P>0.05) in all parameters, but the average reproductive performance of bali bulls was higher in the rainy season than in the dry season.
