Abstract

Abstract. Safety, efficacy, and quality are important factors that must be possessed by every raw material that will be used as medicine. Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera L.) have been widely used as raw materials for making traditional medicines, so it is necessary to standardize to produce good quality simplisia. The purpose of this study was to test the effect of different extraction methods on the standard parameters of moringa leaf extract extract extracted by two different methods, namely maceration and reflux. Standardization of moringa leaf extract consists of specific and non-specific parameter tests. Specific parameter tests include organoleptic examination, while non-specific parameter tests include determination of the specific gravity of viscous extracts. Organoleptic examination results obtained moringa leaf extract obtained by maceration and reflux have a thick form, brownish green color, distinctive odor, and bitter taste. The results of determining the specific gravity of moringa leaf thick extract obtained by maceration have a specific gravity of 0.9044 g/mL ± 0.2, while moringa leaf thick extract obtained by reflux has a specific gravity of 1.0258 g/mL ± 0.05. Moringa leaf extract produced by reflux and maceration has standard quality parameters that meet standardized criteria. Abstrak. Keamanan, khasiat, dan kualitas merupakan faktor penting yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap bahan baku yang akan dijadikan sebagai obat. Daun kelor (Moringa oleifera L.) telah banyak digunakan sebagai bahan baku pembuatan obat tradisional, sehingga perlu dilakukan standarisasi untuk menghasilkan mutu simplisia yang baik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk melakukan pengujian pengaruh perbedaan metode ekstraksi terhadap parameter standar ekstrak daun kelor yang diekstraksi dengan dua metode berbeda yaitu maserasi dan refluks. Standarisasi ekstrak daun kelor yang dilakukan terdiri dari uji parameter spesifik dan non spesifik. Uji parameter spesifik meliputi pemeriksaan organoleptik, sedangkan uji parameter non spesifik meliputi penetapan bobot jenis ekstrak kental. Hasil pemeriksaan organoleptik diperoleh ekstrak daun kelor yang diperoleh dengan cara maserasi dan refluks memiliki bentuk kental, berwarna hijau kecoklatan, bau khas, dan rasa yang pahit. Hasil penetapan bobot jenis ekstrak kental daun kelor yang diperoleh dengan cara maserasi memiliki bobot jenis 0,9044 g/mL ± 0,2, sedangkan ekstrak kental daun kelor yang diperoleh dengan cara refluks memiliki bobot jenis 1,0258 g/mL ± 0,05. Ekstrak daun kelor yang dihasilkan dengan cara maserasi dan refluks memiliki parameter standar mutu yang memenuhi kriteria terstandar.

Abstract

The people of Ginger Village at Karasak Urban Village support the urban greening program by planting ginger plants in the yards and roadsides. Ginger is a traditional medicinal plant commodity that has the potential to be cultivated and developed into health products because of its various pharmacological effects. The PkM team has conducted Community Service Activities for active PKK cadres in Jahe village. This activity aims to educate residents of Ginger Village through PKK cadres about the importance of knowing reasonable ginger extraction procedures so that the benefits of ginger can be optimal as a nutritious ingredient with pharmacological effects. The service method is training in processing ginger using the infusion method. The results showed an increase in participants' knowledge of up to 67%, which indicates that PKK cadres could understand how to extract ginger correctly to maintain its quality and properties.

Abstract

Abstract. Noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia L.) is one of the plants used by ancient to prevent various diseases such as diabetes mellitus. The alkaloid compound group in noni fruit is known to be able to provide activity to reduce blood sugar levels so that it can prevent diabetes mellitus. This study aims to determine the total alkaloid content and the inhibition of α-amylase enzyme in noni fruit extracts on maceration method (EBMM) and reflux method (EBMR). Total alkaloid content of noni fruit extracts was measured using BCG (Bromocresol Green) method. The activity of reduce blood sugar levels was measured by inhibition α-amylase enzyme. The results showed that total alkaloid content in EBMM was 3,8271 mg RE/g, while in EBMR it was 3,6931 mg RE/g. The α-amylase enzyme inhibition of noni fruit extract was expressed based on IC50 value, The EBMM showing an IC50 value of 488.5 µg/mL and EBMR showing an IC50 value of 527.6 µg/mL. Based on this analysis, it was showed that there was no significant between EBMM and EBMR on total alkaloid content or inhibition of α-amylase enzyme. Abstrak. Buah mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang digunakan masyarakat untuk mencegah berbagai penyakit salah satunya ialah diabetes mellitus. Golongan senyawa alkaloid pada buah mengkudu diketahui mampu memberikan aktivitas penurunan kadar gula darah sehingga dapat mencegah penyakit diabetes mellitus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar alkaloid total dan aktivitas penghambatan enzim α-amilase secara in-vitro pada ekstrak buah mengkudu yang diesktraksi dengan metode maserasi (EBMM) dan metode refluks (EBMR). Pengujian kadar alkaloid total pada ekstrak buah mengkudu dilakukan berdasarkan metode BCG (Bromocresol Green). Aktivitas penurunan kadar gula darah dilakukan dengan pengujian ekstrak buah mengkudu secara in-vitro berdasarkan metode penghambatan enzim α-amilase. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan kadar alkaloid total pada EBMM sebesar 3,8271 mg RE/g dan kadar alkaloid total pada EBMR sebesar 3,6931 mg RE/g. Aktivitas penghambatan enzim α-amilase ekstrak buah mengkudu dinyatakan berdasarkan nilai IC50, Pada EBMM diperoleh nilai IC50 sebesar 488,5 µg/mL dan pada EBMR diperoleh nilai IC50 sebesar 527,6 µg/mL. Berdasarkan analisa tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada tidak ada pengaruh signifikan antara EBMM dan EBMR terhadap kadar alkaloid total maupun aktivitas penghambatan enzim α-amilase.
