Abstract

The head injury is one of the accidents causing death and disability. Head injuries include in the top 10 most surgical diseases in the Emergency Department of Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin. From January to September 2017, head injured patients amounted to 974 cases. Patients dominated by mild head injury with GCS were 13-15. Patients with head injuries come with severe GCS and some die on the same day of head injury occurrence, but others get intensive care. This research to find out the relationship between GCS on admission and outcome of head injury patient in Emergency Department (ED) of Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin, ED of Idaman Hospital Banjarbaru and ED of Ratu Zalecha Martapura. This research used non-experiment method in cohort way with consecutive sampling for its sample collecting technique from 56 respondents who are the head injury patients in 3 hospital emergency departments. The analysis of relationship between GCS score on admission and outcome of head injury patient using fisher exact test obtained the significance value (2-tailed) of 0.006 < 0.5 which means that H0 is rejected, so there is relationship between GCS score on admission and outcome. The higher the score of GCS on admission, the better outcome received.

Abstract

Head injury is a global problem with mortality and morbidity outcome of 90%. One of the factors that infuence the outcome is the physiological status that can be assessed by using NEWS and RTS as simple validated assessments to predict outcome. This study aimed to compare NEWS and RTS in the outcome prediction of head injury patients. This study used an analytic observational method with prospective cohort design and consecutive sampling technique type in 48 head injured patients at Emergency Room of Ulin Banjarmasin Hospital, Idaman Banjarbaru Hospital, and Ratu Zalecha Martapura Hospital conducted from November 2017 to January 2018. Based on this study, the average age of head injury patients was 35.54 years, male, caused by traffic accidents, and 87.5% of people had living outcomes. Statistical analysis with a diagnostic test revealedthat NEWS accuracy in the outcome prediction of head injury patients had AUC value of 0.911, p<0.001 with 83.33% sensitivity and 83.33% specificity. RTS accuracy analysis in the outcome prediction of head injury patients had AUC value of 0.879, p = 0,001 with 83,33% sensitivity and 92,86%specificity. RTS was excelled and more able to predict the outcome of head injury patients compared to NEWS.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Cardiovascular disease in the form of cardiac arrest that occurs outside the hospital causing the death of more than 17 million people. However, cardiac arrest can be treated with Basic Life Support (BLS) in the form of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) using health education media with audiovisual media (video), where audiovisual media (video) is better at conveying information. At SMK 1 Banjarbaru there has not yet there about BHD health education especialy CPR. BLS Health Education about RJP using audiovisual media (video) can increase knowledge and improve the self-efficacy of students in helping victims of cardiac arrest outside the hospital. Objective: To find out the differences between poster media and audiovisual media (video) about cardio pulmonary heart resuscitation (CPR) on self-efficacy in students of SMKN 1 Banjarabaru.Method: This study uses a quasy experimental design method with a post-test only design, data collection techniques that use probability sampling with a simple random sampling approach. The number of samples is 84 respondents and is divided into 2 groups, that is the poster group poster media and audiovisual (video) media. Data were collected using a self-efficacy questionnaire sheet. Analysis of the data used is the Mann Whitney test. Results: From the statistical results using the mann-whitney test obtained p-value of 0,000. With the value obtained (p-value 0,000 <α = 0.05) on students' self-efficacy, which means that there is a difference using poster media and video media about RJP on self-efficacy in students of SMK 1 Banjarbaru. The results showed an average value of 28.40 in audiovisual media (video) was higher than in poster media with an average value of 23.83.
