Abstract

In the world of design, themes and concepts become fundamental. Themes and concepts cover the whole idea of a work, as well as in the field of digital imaging. Ideas can be taken from nearby environments such as natural beauty of wood texture. The idea used in the creation of digital imaging is wood texture. The process is the pre-production and production stage. Methods consisting of idea stages, data collection, stage of embodiment, and finalization. At the idea stage, it is attempted to visualize and represent the wood texture through digital imaging techniques. This idea was raised based on believes that wood texture has the aesthetic textures to be applied to digital imaging illustration. Data collection is done through observation. While at the stage of embodiment the process carried out is to make editing image through Adobe Photoshop software. Finalization done with export the illustration in JPG format. The result of this creation is an illustrative work resulting from the digital imaging process entitled Dream Land. It is the process of uniting and editing multiple images into one relevant entity.

Abstract

Abstract

Social media is a powerful promotional tool due to its rapid and extensive reach. Instagram, in particular, has become a popular platform for promotional activities. Mellint Pastries, an online cake business, utilizes Instagram for promotion but has not fully optimized its marketing strategy on the platform. This research aims to enhance Mellint Pastries' Instagram presence to reach a broader audience and boost sales. The study focuses on designing and visualizing Instagram content as an alternative promotional medium for Mellint Pastries. Using qualitative research methods, including interviews, observations, and literature review, the research aims to describe the design process and objectives for Mellint Pastries' Instagram content.

Abstract

Background: Cocoa pod husk (CPH) of Theobroma cacao L. contains tannins, alkaloids, saponins, and flavonoids triterpenoids that have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activities that can accelerate wound healing and alveolar bone regeneration. Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the effect of CPH extract gel on the number of fibroblasts, osteoblasts, and osteoclasts in Wistar rats’ sockets after tooth extraction.  Methods: The samples used were 36 male Wistar rats divided into three groups: the negative control group (placebo gel), the positive control group (Alveogyl; Septodont, UK), and the treatment group (100 mg/ml CPH extract gel), which in each application was given for three, seven, and fourteen days on the mandibular first molar post-extraction socket. The samples were sacrificed and tissue was processed on days 4, 8, and 15. The amount of fibroblasts, osteoblasts, and osteoclasts was identified and determined by the Image J software. Results: The Mann-Whitney U analysis showed significant differences (p<0.05) between groups. Fibroblasts and osteoblasts in the treatment group were significantly higher than the control groups. Osteoclasts in the treatment group were significantly lower than the control group. Conclusion: Ethanol extract gel of CPH significantly increased fibroblasts on days 3 and 5 and osteoblasts on days 7 and 14 and decreased osteoclasts on day 14 in post-extraction socket of Wistar rats.

Abstract

Ibu Ruswo, a prominent female figure in Yogyakarta, played a significant role in the struggle and organisation of women during the war. Her name has now been immortalised as the name of a street. Her story is presented in a visual book, utilising the Pre-factum and Practice-Led Research methods, with data collected through interviews, observations, and literature reviews. The book's design is based on Visual Communication theory, encompassing design style, colour, layout, and typography. This book is intended for junior high and senior high school students in Yogyakarta to foster appreciation for women's struggles and increase interest in historical literacy.

Abstract

Background: Tooth extraction causes injury to the alveolar bone and oral mucosa which is followed by the body ’s natural response through wound healing. One of the important parameters and indicators of wound healing is collagen density. Collagen is synthesised by fibroblasts in the proliferative phase, which was formed from day 3 and reached its peak on day 7. Robusta coffee beans have active compounds in the form of anti-inflammatory and antioxidants that are effective in accelerating wound healing. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of robusta coffee bean extract gel (Coffea canephora) at concentrations of 12,5%, 25%, and 50% in increasing the thickness of collagen fibres in socket wound healing after tooth extraction in Wistar rats. Method: This type of research is laboratory experimental. The samples used were 40 male Wistar rats divided into 5 groups: negative control, positive control, 12.5% robusta coffee bean extract gel treatment, 25% robusta coffee bean extract gel treatment, and 50% robusta coffee bean extract gel treatment. The sample group was decapitated on the 3rd and 7th day after tooth extraction. Socket tissues were taken to make histological preparations stained with trichrome mallory and then measured using Adobe Photoshop CS 6.0 software. Results: The average thickness of collagen fibres in the Robusta coffee bean extract gel treatment group was higher than that in the control group (p
