Abstract

This mentoring program aims to improve the skills of Elementary School (SD) and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) teachers in Kacangan Village, Andong District, Boyolali, in developing textbooks based on local wisdom and in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum. The approach used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) and Workshop-Based Training, where teachers play an active role in the process of developing teaching materials. This activity includes training, discussion, and intensive assistance to compile and adapt textbooks so that they are more contextualized with student characteristics. The results of this mentoring showed a positive response from the teachers. A total of 61.5% stated that they would “Yes, definitely” implement the results of the workshop, while the other 38.5% answered “Maybe”. This reflects optimism as well as caution in the implementation of the program. This assessment shows that the strategies implemented are considered realistic and workable in daily learning. In addition, this approach also increases teachers' awareness of the importance of integrating local values in education. The implications of this program include improving the quality of learning and strengthening cultural identity in the developed textbooks. To ensure the sustainability of this program, support is needed through collaboration between schools, communities and local governments so that the innovations that have been introduced can continue. Thus, education in Kacangan Village can progress without losing its local cultural roots.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the concept of moderation in Javanese puppetry represented through Punakawan characters, identify its actualization in contemporary contexts, and examine its theoretical and practical implications for developing moderation approaches based on local wisdom. Using library research methods with a qualitative-interpretive approach, this study analyzes various primary and secondary sources related to Punakawan and the concept of moderation. The results show that moderation in Punakawan characters is represented in three dimensions: philosophical through spiritual-material balance, social through roles as bridges between groups, and praxis through humorous approaches in social criticism. The actualization of Punakawan moderation values can be applied to address socio-political polarization, socio-economic disparities, and cultural identity crises. This research contributes to developing moderation theory based on local wisdom and provides practical guidance for character education programs, conflict resolution, and moderate leadership. The novelty of this research lies in its integrative approach that connects Punakawan local wisdom with contemporary moderation theory, producing a transformative framework that is adaptive to today’s social challenges.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze Al-Ghazali's perspective on eschatology in Islamic teachings and the implications of his thoughts on the understanding and beliefs of Muslim individuals. The research methodology employed is literature analysis, examining Al-Ghazali's works related to eschatology and interpreting his views within the context of Islamic philosophy. The findings indicate that Al-Ghazali regards eschatology as an integral part of Islamic teachings that is crucial for preparing oneself to face the afterlife. Al-Ghazali emphasizes the importance of developing good morals, abstaining from sins, and maintaining a connection with God and fellow human beings. The implications of Al-Ghazali's perspective on the understanding and beliefs of Muslims are that the focus should primarily be on the hereafter while living in this world. Al-Ghazali's contribution in enriching the insights and understanding of eschatology from the perspective of Islamic philosophy includes the reinterpretation of eschatological concepts, the integration of philosophy and theology, and the development of profound philosophical reflections. This research demonstrates that Al-Ghazali's perspective on eschatology in Islamic teachings has significant implications for the understanding and beliefs of Muslims. Al-Ghazali's thoughts provide a valuable contribution in expanding the understanding of the afterlife and prioritizing the preparation for the hereafter. It offers a deeper comprehension of Al-Ghazali's views on eschatology and motivates Muslims to lead their lives in this world with a broader and responsible perspective.

Abstract

This research explores the philosophical meaning of Macapat songs in the context of Javanese and Islamic culture using a hermeneutic approach. Macapat songs, such as Maskumambang, Mijil, Sinom, and Kinanthi, are part of Javanese oral literary heritage that contains ethical, spiritual, and social values that remain relevant in modern life. The research method used is library research, analyzing various literature discussing Macapat songs from cultural and Islamic perspectives. The results show that Macapat songs can function as a means to build Islamic moderation, through integrating Javanese cultural values and Islamic teachings. The hermeneutic approach provides a deeper understanding of the symbolism found in Macapat songs, so that it can be used as a reference in shaping an inclusive and balanced community character. The implications of this research contribute to the development of cultural and Islamic studies, as well as utilizing Macapat songs in moral and spiritual education for Javanese society.

Abstract

Naturally, each child is unique, has individual diversity, and differs from each other in various ways, such as in terms of intelligence, talent, personality, and physical and spiritual condition. Based on the diversity of such characteristics, it is necessary to pay attention to educational models that can facilitate the development of children according to their unique characteristics. Including education for children with superior abilities or children with talent, the education of talented children is an integral part of the national education system. Through the Ministry of Education, children have the greatest opportunity to develop according to their potential. If every child has been able to realize their own potential, at that time they will become self-reliant, productive, and contributing human beings, capable of making a very meaningful contribution to the improvement of the quality of life of a nation based on the noble values that are upheld and cherished by the entire Indonesian nation.

Abstract

This study examined whether e‑module use predicts Islamic Faith Education (IFE) achievement among Grade‑VII students at Al‑Abidin Bilingual Boarding School, Surakarta. A quantitative design with census sampling was applied; the population and sample comprised 58 students. The predictor (X) was measured with a 1–5 Likert questionnaire; twenty items were trialed, nineteen retained as valid, and internal consistency reached Cronbach’s alpha = 0.883. The outcome (Y) used official IFE report‑card scores. Analyses covered descriptive statistics, Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality, linearity, Pearson correlation, and coefficient of determination (SPSS 24). A 30‑student pilot supported item validity; analyses used individual‑level pairing. E‑module use was moderately high (M = 70.97; SD = 11.48; range 45–93). IFE achievement was high (M = 87.78; SD = 9.39; range 20–94). Assumptions were met: residuals were normally distributed (p = 0.200) and the X–Y relation was linear (p = 0.268). The Pearson correlation was positive yet weak and non‑significant (r = 0.215; p = 0.104); the explanatory power was small (R² = 0.046; Adjusted R² = 0.029). About 4.6% of score variance was accounted for by e‑module use.

Abstract

The concept of keluarga sakinah (harmonious family) in Islam is a household structure based on faith and devotion to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. However, in contemporary society, many marriages deviate from Islamic principles, despite marriage being a fundamental teaching rooted in love, compassion, and mutual cooperation. These deviations are often influenced by cultural norms, traditional practices, and social pressures, which can lead to unhealthy marital relationships. This study aims to analyze the concept of harmonious family according to Sheikh Al-Albani from the perspective of maqashid al-syari’ah and its relevance to Muslim family life. The research employs a qualitative approach with a literature study as the primary data collection method. The collected data is analyzed using a descriptive-analytical method to evaluate the relationship between Sheikh Al-Albani’s concept of keluarga sakinah and the principles of maqashid al-syari’ah. The findings indicate that Sheikh Al-Albani’s concept of harmonious family strongly correlates with the five main principles of maqashid al-syari’ah: the protection of religion (hifdz ad-diin), life (hifdz an-nafs), intellect (hifdz al-‘aql), lineage (hifdz an-nasl), and wealth (hifdz al-maal). His perspective emphasizes the importance of maintaining the sanctity of marriage, preserving harmony, and upholding the values of sharia in household life. Therefore, a deeper understanding of this concept can serve as a foundation for building harmonious families oriented toward Islamic values and enriching the academic discourse on harmonious family within the Islamic perspective.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of child education according to Sa'id bin Ali bin Wahf Al-Qahthani in the book Tarbiyatul Aulad, its relevance to child education in the modern era, and the application of its principles in contemporary Islamic education practices. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach through primary and secondary literature analysis. The results show that Tarbiyatul Aulad offers a comprehensive concept of education based on tawhid, moral development, worship habits, and the development of children's intellectual, emotional, and social potential. This concept is still relevant to the needs of modern education that often emphasizes cognitive aspects, but lacks the spiritual and moral dimensions. The application of the principles of Tarbiyatul Aulad can be done through the synergy of family, school, and community in building holistic education based on Islamic values. Thus, this study confirms that Al-Qahthani's thoughts can be used as practical guidelines to strengthen Islamic education amid the challenges of globalization.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between teacher roles and the quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning among class XI-1 students at SMA Islam 1 Surakarta in the 2024/2025 academic year. The background of this research lies in the crucial importance of teacher roles in improving education quality, especially in PAI learning which aims to shape students’ character and morals. The research employed a quantitative correlational design with a sample of 52 students. Data were collected using closed-ended Likert scale questionnaires to assess students’ perceptions of teacher roles and PAI learning quality. The instruments were validated and found reliable prior to analysis. Data analysis included assumption tests (normality and linearity) and Pearson Product Moment correlation testing. The results showed that the teacher’s role in PAI was in the good category (mean score 67.88), and similarly the PAI learning quality was good (mean score 77.13). There was a significant positive correlation between teacher roles and PAI learning quality (r = 0.445, p = 0.001). This indicates that the more optimal the teacher’s role as an educator, mentor, facilitator, motivator, and evaluator, the better the quality of PAI learning. These findings underscore the importance of teacher roles in enhancing PAI learning quality.

Abstract

This study is grounded in the growing challenges of moral education for adolescents amid globalization, digital culture, and declining politeness, worship discipline, and responsibility. SMP Pandanaran Plupuh Sragen, as a boarding school, strongly aspires to nurture young generations with noble character, Pancasila values, independence, health, and academic excellence. The research aims to describe the roles of teachers, homeroom teachers, and dormitory guardians in modelling and habituation; teachers’ roles in moral assessment, rule enforcement, and gadget supervision; and teachers’ roles in communication and synchronization with parents. A qualitative approach with a descriptive design was employed. The study was conducted at SMP Pandanaran Plupuh Sragen. The subjects consisted of teachers, ninth grade homeroom teachers, dormitory guardians, ninth grade students, and several parents selected purposively. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, then analyzed interactively using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data credibility was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that the role modelling of teachers, homeroom teachers, and dormitory guardians, reinforced by structured habituation programs in worship, discipline, and independence, significantly contributes to students’ moral improvement.
