Abstract

In an effort to find new sources of medicinal plants as antimalarials based on ethnobotany knowledge from generation to generation. Therefore, tested the inhibition of heme polymerization from 70% ethanol extract of papaya leaves (Carica papaya) and Guava (Psidium guajava) leaves. The data obtained were calculated by IC50 using SPSS 22 obtained that 70% ethanol extract of Pepaya leaves (Carica papaya) and Jambu Biji leaves (Psidium guajava) had antimalarial activities of 7,914 and 8,794 mg/ml respectively and their had the potential to be developed in more research further as antimalarial.

Abstract

Latar Belakang dan Tujuan: Penggunaan biopestisida yang berasal dari tumbuhan dan mikroorganisme telah berkembang untuk menggantikan pestisida kimia yang dapat merusak keseimbangan ekosistem. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menskrining bioaktivitas larvasida dan antimakan tumbuhan dari Famili Euphorbiacea dan Verbenacea sebagai penelitian dasar pengembangan biopestisida. Metode: Sampel segar disortasi, dibersihkan, dikeringkan dan dihaluskan hingga diperoleh serbuk simplisia kering. Serbuk simplisia diekstraksi dengan maserasi menggunakan metanol selama 2 x 24 jam. Bioaktivitas larvasida ekstrak diuji terhadap larva Artemia Salina Leach dan larva Culex fatigans, sedangkan bioaktivitas antimakan diuji terhadap larva Tenebrio molitor. Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa ekstrak daun Lantana camara dari famili Verbenacea memiliki aktivitas LC50 yang baik terhadap Artemia Salina Leach yaitu 21,65 ppm. Bioaktivitas larvasida terhadap Culex fatigans tidak menunjukkan hasil yang memuaskan pada seluruh ekstrak yang diuji. konsentrasi terbaik terdapat pada ekstrak Duranta erecta L. dari Famili Verbenacea dengan nilai LC95 sebesar 1.717 ppm. Hasil uji antimakan terhadap Tenebrio molitor memiliki aktivitas yang baik ditunjukkan pada ekstrak batang Euphorbia mili dari Famili Euphorbiaceae dengan IC95 sebesar 2,707 %.

Abstract

Tumbuhan Jahe Balikpapan (Etlingera balikpapanensis) merupakan tumbuhan asli dari Kalimantan Timur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak metanol daun Jahe Balikpapan dan juga mengetahui profil KLT partisi cair-padat dengan pelarut n-heksan, etil asetat dan n-butanol. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi dengan menggunakan pelarut metanol kemudian dipartisi cair-padat secara berturut-turut dengan pelarut n-heksan, etil asetat dan n-butanol. Aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak metanol daun Jahe Balikpapan (Etlingera balikpapanensis) diuji dengan menggunakan metode DPPH (1,1-dyphenyl-2-picrylhidrazyl). Hasil pengujian aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak metanol daun Jahe Balikpapan (Etlingera balikpapanensis) menunjukkan nilai IC50 212,71 ppm.

Abstract

Fungi endofit adalah salah satu sumber senyawa bioaktif yang dapat menghasilkan senyawa-senyawa bioaktif yang sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan menjadi obat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat berbagai macam jenis fungi endofit secara makroskopis dan mikroskopis dari tumbuhan Brotowali (Tinospora crispa) yang dapat menjadi kandidat dari fungi endofit yang dapat memproduksi senyawa bioaktif. Isolasi endofit dari batang Brotowali dilakukan pada medium PDA dan diperoleh 5 isolat fungi endofit.

Abstract

Black betel leaves are widely used for various treatments, one of which is oral diseases such as gingivitis and dental caries by Indonesians. The purpose of this study was to determine the class of compounds and to find the best eluent for the separation of compounds from methanol extract. This research begins with extraction using the maceration method withmethanolsolvent. The extract obtained was tested using analytical TLC to find the best eluent. After obtaining the best eluent, the partition extraction of black betel leaf methanol extract was carried out using ethyl acetate. The ethyl acetate soluble and ethyl acetate insoluble extractswere separated then the three extracts were continued with the identification of the compounds by analytical TLC using the two best eluent comparisons that had been done previously and then observed under UV light 254 nm and 366 nm after that sprayed using Dragendorff reagent and FeCl3. The best eluent analysis result of ethyl acetate partition of black betel leaf methanol extract was n-hexane:ethyl acetate (6:4, 3:1) and TLC analysis showed that the compounds contained were alkaloids and phenolic.

Abstract

Each plant contains several endophytic fungi that can produce secondary metabolites, one of which is akar kuning plants. This study was conducted to determine the profile TLC of the secondary metabolites separation from the extract of endophytic fungi of akar kuning (Arcangelisia flava L. Merr.). This research began with fermentation of the akar kuning fungi isolate for 14 days. After 14 days, the endophytic fungi biomass and PDB medium were extract by the liquid-liquid extraction method using ethyl acetate as a solvent. Fungi extracts were identified using a thin layer chromatography (TLC) method, observed in UV light of 254 nm, 366 nm and sprayed with dragendorff detection reagent and AlCl3. The identification results with eluent n-hexane: ethyl acetate (3: 1) in 7 spots with Rf values of 0.15; 0.22; 0.35; 0.56; 0.75; 0.85; and 0.95, n-hexane: ethyl acetate (1: 3) produce 6 spots with an Rf value of 0.09; 0.38; 0.67; 0.76; 0.8 ;and 0.85.

Abstract

Kokang Leaf (Lepisanthes amoena) as a traditional cosmetic for the Dayak Benuaq and Tunjung tribe is very important to be developed in medicine because it is contain secondary metabolites as antioxidants. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the yield of kokang leaves (Lepisanthes amoena), the profile of TLC, and knowing the fraction with the greatest antioxidants in kokang leaves (Lepisanthes amoena). The research used DPPH, KLT, and yield calculation method. The yield obtained in ethanol extract 96% = 23%; N-Hexan = 9.448%; Ethyl Acetate = 1.37%; Ethanol 70% = 9.95%. TLC test results using N.Hexan : Ethyl Acetate (2: 1) eluent and then sprayed with 10% H2SO4, in 96% ethanol extract there were 7 stains, N-Hexan Fraction 9 stains, Ethyl Acetate Fraction 5 stains, and Ethanol Fraction 70 % 1 stain. The qualitative test results after spraying DPPH on TLC, there were yellow spots on a purple background indicating antioxidant activity. The IC50 results were obtained in 96% Ethanol Extract 6.8171 ppm, N-Hexan Fraction 10.0184 ppm, Ethyl Acetate Fraction 5.0107 ppm, and Ethanol 70% Fraction 24.7343 ppm. Based on the results above, it can be concluded that the ethyl acetate extract has the highest antioxidant activity with 5.0107 ppm being able to inhibit DPPH radicals.

Abstract

Chalcone has been widely reported to have various activities such as cytotoxic, antioxidant, antibacterial, and others. Synthesis becames the right way to get chalcone because it can produce much yield of chalcone and can be varied in accordance with the desired structure. The compound of 1-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)propenone was synthesized by conventional method for 6 hours using a 40% NaOH catalyst with a yield of 90.87%. The toxicity test of 1-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)propanone was done by Brine Shrimp Lethality Test method (BSLT). The results of the test showed that the 1-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-3- (3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)propenone has toxicity value LC50 613.05 ppm.
