Abstract

Nowadays, developing contraception methods were mostly addressed to women. The development of male contraception was still limited. There were condoms, vasectomies, and interrupted intercourse, which used in male contraception. The condom method and interrupted intercourse have a high failure rate and inconvenience in its use. The vasectomy method is invasive and expensive. The development of molecular-based contraceptive methods with minimal impacts on health is expected to be a good breakthrough in the context of population control and improving the quality of health. The study aims to summarize and analyze the early development of contraception until the invention of molecular contraception through immunologic, proteomic, and metabolomics science. This article review was done by studying literature in the PubMed Central (PMC), Springer, and Open Access ScienceDirect databases. The search was performed with the keywords "Contraception", "Molecular Contraception", "Male Contraception", and "Immunocontraception". Journal articles that fit the theme of the review are then reviewed by paraphrasing the core of the research. The conclusion drawn from the review is that male contraception using the molecular method is still being developed at a pre-clinical experimental stage using animal laboratory technique and in vitro technique. The key to the success of this molecular method is that the more specific the molecular target at male fertility levels, the better of contraceptive effect. The molecular- based contraception is expected to be a breakthrough in terms of population control that have more effective, safe, and comfortable, especially for male contraception

Abstract

Cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) is known to have enormous potential advantages because they contain vitamins A1, B1, B2, C, D, and E as well as minerals such as iron, zinc, phosphorus, magnesium, and copper. In addition, chocolate is also known to be rich in active antioxidant ingredients such as phenolic compounds, prociandin, and flavonoids which can reduce the bad effects of antioxidants in the body. giving chocolate to experimental animals and consumption interventions in humans can prevent and overcome the problem of several diseases, one of which is diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of giving cocoa powder drink to the wet weight of the liver in rats with diabetes mellitus. The research design used was experimental research using a completely randomized design with a post-test only control group design. The experimental sample used fifteen male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) Sprague Dawley strain. The experimental mice were divided into 5 groups, namely the negative control group (K-), namely normal rats without any treatment, the positive group, namely the diabetes mellitus (K +) group; treatment group 1 (KP1), treatment group 2 (KP2), treatment group 3 (KP3), namely the diabetes mellitus group of rats that were given the treatment of chocolate drink with a concentration of cocoa powder drink doses of 2%, 4% and 6%. Data analysis was performed using the One Way ANOVA test. Results: The results showed that the organ weight in the group K- = 10.46 ± 0.44; K + = 11.49 ± 0.39; KP1 = 9.95 ± 0.60; KP2 = 11.30 ± 0.60; KP3 = 11.09± 0.90. Statistical analysis showed that there was no significant difference for each treatment with a value of p = 0.077. The conclusions in the study regarding the effect of giving chocolate drink on the wet weight of the liver in rats with diabetes mellitus showed that giving cocoa powder with a concentration of 2%, 4% and 6% was not able to significantly affect the wet weight of the liver.

Abstract

About 1-3% of children aged 0-5 years in the world experience Developmental delay. Many factors can hinder children's motor development, including nervous disorders, vestibular or balance disorders, and sensory disturbances. Apart from internal factors in the body, children's development is also influenced by environmental (social) factors. The role of parents is crucial in achieving the child's normal growth and development. PAUD Belimbing is a place for early childhood education located in Jatiroto village, Lumajang, East Java. Early childhood development detection activities have never been carried out in PAUD Belimbing. In addition, the understanding of people who know about children's growth and development is still lacking. This service has a strategy of optimizing the role of parents in supporting the success of the maximum growth and development of each child, especially PAUD Belimbing students in Jatiroto village, Lumajang, East Java. The purpose of this optimization activity is expected to increase the knowledge and skills of parents on toddler growth and development. The method used in this service activity includes counselling with IEC media (presentations and giving modules), the practice of child development assessment, discussion, and evaluation. The final result of the evaluation obtained from counselling and practice is an increase in good knowledge of child growth and development. It is expected that parents will be able to apply the knowledge in everyday life and spread this knowledge to friends, relatives, and the surrounding community.

Abstract

The local food-based snack bar has the potential to be developed to support stunting prevention programs in toddlers. Edamame and herbal plants (such as ginger rhizome, cinnamon, and lempeni leaf powder) can be used in the development of snack bars as a functional food. This research is experimental research with a laboratory analysis method. The snack bar formulation has previously been calculated using the Nutrisurvey for Linear Programming application. Two formulations and one control were obtained and then tested for their nutritional content. Research parameters were tested by proximate test (carbohydrate content, total fat, protein, total energy, energy from fat, water content, ash content, and dietary fiber, as well as the mineral content of iron (Fe), Zinc (Zn), and Vitamin C. The results showed that most of the mineral content, vitamins, dietary fiber, ash content, water content, and protein content of Formula 1 and 2 had better content than the control. However, the energy, carbohydrate, and fatcontent of Formula 1 and 2 show a lower amount than the control. The addition of several ingredients such as edamame, lempeni leaves, and some herbs such as ginger and cinnamon can improve the nutritional quality of snack bar.

Abstract

Kontrasepsi pria merupakan metode kontrasepsi untuk mencegah kehamilan seperti kondom, vasektomi. Jumlah Peserta KB pria aktif di Kabupaten Jember yaitu vasektomi 0,19%, kondom 0,89%. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh akses pelayanan, kualitas pelayanan terhadap partisipasi pria dalam keluarga berencana. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penelitian observasional dengan desain cross sectional. Penelitian dilakukan di Kabupaten Jember dengan responden 380, pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik multistage random sampling. Pengumpulan data dengan mengisi instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner. Pengolahan data melalui proses editing, coding, cleaning, scoring, tabulasi. Uji yang digunakan yaitu regresi logistik dengan kemaknaan 95% (α = 0,05) untuk melihat pengaruh akses pelayanan, kualitas pelayanan terhadap partisipasi pria dalam program KB. Hasil penelitian akses pelayanan dengan signifikansi 0,000 (p<0,05) yaitu terdapat pengaruh akses pelayanan terhadap partisipasi pria dalam program KB. Hasil penelitian kualitas pelayanan dengan signifikansi 0,000 (p<0,05) yaitu terdapat pengaruh kualitas pelayanan terhadap partisipasi pria dalam program KB. Sejalan dengan penelitian (Rifai & Juhanto, 2022) bahwa peran petugas kesehatan berpengaruh terhadap pemakaian kontrasepsi. Fasilitas kontrasepsi pria di Kabupaten Jember belum maksimal digunakan masyarakat karena tempat pelayanan berpusat di kota sehingga sulit dijangkau  masyarakat. Responden menyatakan tidak pernah mendapat informasi kontrasepsi pria, sebagian responden pernah mendapat informasi mengenai kontrasepsi tetapi informasi yang diterima sangat terbatas.

Abstract

PAUD Inklusif Cerdas Banyuwangi merupakan salah satu lembaga pendidikan nonprofit untuk anak usia dini, baik anak yang berkebutuhan khusus maupun anak dengan tumbuh kembang normal. PAUD tersebut menggunakan media blogspot sebagai sarana menyebarkan informasi terkait layanan, program, dan kegiatan yang ada di sekolah. Namun, pembaharuan blogspot terhenti pada tahun 2016 karena kendala sumber daya manusia dalam pengoperasian. Selain itu, media blogspot yang digunakan dirasa kurang menarik dan kurang efektif. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan upaya promosi PAUD Inklusif Cerdas Banyuwangi menggunakan media lain yaitu website. Kegiatan yang dilakukan berupa pelatihan dan pendampingan pengoperasian website yang diikuti sebanyak 8 orang guru dan operator PAUD. Sebelum dilakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan, website PAUD telah dirancang bangun selama 1 bulan. Pelatihan dan pengoperasian website dilaksanakan pada 4 Agustus 2022 di PAUD Inklusif Cerdas Banyuwangi secara luring. Hasil dari pelaksanaan kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa semua peserta telah memahami dan dapat mempraktikkan cara pengoperasian website setelah dilakukan kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan pengoperasian website PAUD.
