Abstract

Climbing perch (Anabas testudineus, Bloch) is one of freshwater fishes having the potential to be developed as it has a fairly high economic value. Culture of climbing perch in Indonesia is still under developed because of some barriers that occur in the culture system such as the availability of seed, broodstock rematuration requires long time about three months and influenced by the season.  Application of egg stimulant that having complete substances may support climbing perch productivity in terms of increasing egg production, shorter time to mature, and improving eggs quality. This research was aimed to gain techniques and effective egg stimulant dose to produce good quality eggs. Doses of eggs stimulant used were 1 g/kg, 2 g/kg, 3 g/kg diet, without eggs stimulant (control) and control+starch. Fish were reared for 45 days (up to mature egg) and fed twice a day.  The results showed that eggs stimulant dose of 1 g/kg diet allowed best gonad maturation and fastest compared to other treatments and control. Thus, this could be used to accelerate broodstock maturation to support seed production of climbing perch in near future.Keywords: Anabas testudineus, seed production, artificial maturation, egg stimulant

Abstract

Keberhasilan suatu perusahaan tergantung pada proses rekrutmen, pengelolaan tim kerja yang efektif dan kinerja karyawan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui:(1) Pengaruh antara rekrutmen terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT. Indoglobal Galang Pamitra Bogor. (2) Pengaruh antara pengelolaan tim kerja yang efektif terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT. Indoglobal Galang Pamitra Bogor. (3) Pengaruh secara bersama-sama variabel rekrutmen dan pengelolaan tim kerja yang efektif terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT. Indoglobal Galang Pamitra Bogor. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di PT Indoglobal Galang Pamitra Bogor pada karyawan bagian gudang. Jumlah sampel dan populasi 70 orang. Metode penelitian digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dan analisis inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa:(1)Terdapat pengaruh yang kuat dan positif antara variabel rekrutmen dengan kinerja karyawan. (2) Terdapat pengaruh yang sangat kuat dan positif antara variabel tim kerja dengan kinerja karyawan. (3) Terdapat pengaruh yang kuat dan positif antara variabel rekrutmen dan tim kerja bersama-sama terhadap variabel kinerja karyawan. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat memberikan manfaat dalam proses rektrutmen dan pengelolaan tim kerja di PT.Indoglobal Galang Pamitra Bogor.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Streptococcosis caused by Streptococcus agalactiae bacteria, is a type of disease that often found in Nile tilapia farming. This study was performed to determine the effectiveness of the concentration and frequency of giving chopped banana stem as the immunostimulant to stimulate the non‒specific immune system of tilapia against S. agalactiae infection. This study used factorial completely randomized design, consisted of two factors: concentration and changing frequency (replacement time interval) of banana stem on Nile tilapia rearing media with 11 treatment and each treatment was given three replications. The concentration of 5 g/L, 10 g/L and 15 g/L and the three days, seven days and no replacement time interval were used in this study. The immersion treatment with the chopped banana stem was done for 14 days, then the challenge test with S. agalactiae was on the 15th day for 14 days observation. The result showed that chopped banana stem contained active compounds of alkaloids, namely: 17.63% flavonoids, 0.02% tannin and 0.24% saponins. This active compounds could increase the non-specific immune system including respiratory burst, lysozyme activity, phagocyte activity, erythrocyte, leucocyte and haemoglobin. Treatment with a concentration of 5 g/L and no replacement of the chopped banana stem was the best treatment with 75% relative percent survival, highest than other treatments. In addition, it also has highest phagocytes (36.3%), respiratory burst (0.58 at O.D. 630), and lysozyme activity (72.7 unit/mL) after four days challenged with S. agalactiae. Keywords: Banana stem, immunostimulant, Nile tilapia, non-specific immune system, Streptococcus agalatiae   ABSTRAK Penyakit Streptococcosis yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Streptococcus agalactiae merupakan jenis penyakit  yang sering ditemukan pada budidaya ikan nilaPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan konsentrasi dan frekuensi pergantian cacahan batang pisang sebagai imunostimulan yang optimum sehingga dapat meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh ikan nila terhadap serangan penyakit streptococcosis yang disebabkan oleh bakteri S. agalactiae. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap faktorial. Perlakuan terdiri dari dua faktor yaitu konsentrasi dan frekuensi pergantian cacahan batang pisang pada media pemeliharaan ikan dengan 11 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Konsentras batang pisang yang digunakan yaitu 5 g/L, 10 g/L dan 15 g/L, sedangkan frekuensi pergantian batang pisang dalam penelitian ini yaitu tiga hari, tujuh hari dan tanpa pergantian batang pisang. Perlakuan perendaman dengan cacahan batang pisang dilakukan selama 14 hari, kemudian dilakukan uji tantang dengan bakteri S. agalactiae pada hari ke-15 selama 14 hari pengamatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cacahan batang pisang ambon mengandung senyawa aktif berupa alkaloid, flavonoid (17,63%), tanin (0,02%) dan saponin (0,24%). Senyawa aktif tersebut mampu meningkatkan respons imun non-spesifik pada ikan nila yaitu respiratory burst, aktivitas lisozim, aktivitas fagositik, total leukosit, total eritrosit dan hemoglobin. Perlakuan dengan konsentrasi 5 g/L dan tanpa pergantian cacahan batang pisang merupakan perlakuan terbaik dengan nilai relative percent survival (RPS) mencapai 70%, lebih besar dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya. Selain itu, perlakuan ini memiliki nilai tertinggi pada aktivitas fagositik (36,6%), respiratory burst (0,58 pada O.D. 630 nm) dan aktivitas lisozim (72,7 Unit/mL) setelah hari ke‒4 uji tantang dengan bakteri S. agalactiae. Kata kunci: batang pisang, ikan nila, imunostimulan, respons imun, Streptococcus agalactiae

Abstract

This study was conducted as an initial step in the domestication process of endemic fish in Jambi Province through an artificial feed adaptation approach. In addition, there is little data and research in Jambi Province that systematically discusses and tests artificial feed adaptation as part of domestication. This study aims to analyze the feed adaptation response in the cultivation of sepat fish (Trichopodus pectoralis), tambakan fish (Helostoma temminckii), and betok fish (Anabas testudineus) originating from the public waters of Kota Karang Village, Kumpeh Ulu District, Muaro Jambi as the initial stage of domestication. This study used a completely randomized design) with three treatments and three replicates. The treatments applied were different types of endemic Jambi fish, including sepat fish (T. pectoralis, treatment A), tambakan fish (H. temminckii, treatment B), and betok fish (A. testudineus, treatment C). The fish used in this study were wild fish obtained from public waters in Kota Karang Village, Kumpeh Ulu District, Muaro Jambi Regency. The average initial weight and length of sepat fish were 3.37±0.98 g and 6.32±1.52 cm, tambakan fish 7.65±0.74 g and 8.17±0.59 cm, and betok fish 8.03±1.13 g and 7.57±1.14 cm. Maintenance was carried out for 4 weeks, during which the test fish were fed artificial feed or commercial feed (39% protein). The feeding method was Ad-restricted. Feeding frequency is three times a day, namely in the morning, afternoon, and evening. The results of the study show that the SR value produced is 100% for all treatments. The highest PBM value is found in treatment A (sepat fish) at 1.34 g and the lowest PBM value is found in treatment C (betok fish) at 0.82 g. The highest PPM value was found in treatment A (sepat fish) at 1.12 cm, and the lowest PPM value was found in treatment B (tambakan fish) at 0.39 cm. The highest LPS value was found in treatment C (betok fish) at 6.40%/day, and the lowest LPS value was found in treatment A (sepat fish) at 3.54%/day. In general, the water quality parameters of the maintenance medium were suitable for the growth and survival of freshwater fish.

Abstract

Low fry quality and the lack of continuous fry availability are major constraints in Nile tilapia cultivation. One of the primary factors contributing to poor fry quality is the inadequate nutritional quality of broodstock feed. Egg stimulant is a feed additive containing multivitamins and minerals that can enhance egg production, improve egg quality, extend the spawning phase, and accelerate gonadal maturation. However, its effectiveness depends on species, broodstock age, and environmental conditions. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of egg stimulant supplementation on larval productivity of Nirwana strain Nile tilapia at Ernawati Farm Galunggung (EFG) through broodstock feeding. Five treatments with three replications were applied, consisting of egg stimulant dosages of 0.25 g/kg, 0.33 g/kg, 0.5 g/kg, 1 g/kg, and a control. Observed parameters included the number of larvae produced per harvest and the daily growth rate of both female and male broodstock during the spawning period. Supplementation of egg stimulant to broodstock feed significantly increased the number of larvae produced per cycle, with the best performance observed in treatment P IV (1 g/kg). However, feed supplementation with egg stimulant did not result in a significant difference in broodstock body weight growth for either sex. Nevertheless, numerical improvements in weight gain were observed, indicating that the supplementation did not inhibit growth and supported the physiological performance of the broodstock

Abstract

The success of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) cultivated is influenced by many factors, such as broodstock and fry quality, water quality, pond and feed management, and also the control of pests and diseases. The selection of appropriate spawning containers is critical, as it affects broodstock adaptation, comfort, behavior, and overall spawning success. This study aims to compare spawning performance of Nile tilapia in conventional earthen ponds and with hapa systems. A qualitative descriptive methodology was employed, with data collected at Ernawati Farm Galunggung (EFG), Tasikmalaya. Results demonstrated that larval productivity in the conventional earthen pond system was more stable than in the hapa system. Specifically, larval output over 10 spawning cycles with three replicates ranged from 30,000 to 94,000 individuals in the conventional system, compared to 10,000 to 110,000 individuals in the hapa system. The greater swimming space available in the conventional system likely facilitated nest building prior to spawning, contributing to increased productivity stability. In contrast, the restricted movement in the hapa system appeared to induce stress among broodstock, resulting in less consistent larval output. Larval survival rates were 100% in both systems, with larvae harvested at three days post-hatching.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and determine the dosage of soybean extract that can increase the motility of catfish sperm stored at preservation temperature. The research method used is RAL (Completely Randomized Design) with 4 treatments 3 replications where P1 0 ml soybean extract / 1 ml sperm, P2 0.3 ml soybean extract / 1 ml sperm, P3 0.6 ml soybean extract / 1 ml sperm, and P4 0.8 ml soybean extract / 1 ml sperm. The pH of catfish sperm before and after mixing soybean extract is 8. While after cryopreservation, the pH in treatment P1 is 5, treatments P2 and P4 are 6, and in treatment P3 with a value of 7. The volume of sperm used in treatments P1, P2, P3, and P4 before being diluted is 3 ml. The color of catfish sperm in P1 is milky white, while in P2, P3, P4 the color of the sperm is cream and smells fishy. Meanwhile, the viscosity level in P1 was thick, P2 was thin, and P3 and P4 were liquid. The results of observations of catfish sperm motility obtained the best value in treatment P3 (0.6 ml of soybean extract/1 ml of sperm) with a value of 2.6 (good). Meanwhile, the worst motility value was obtained in treatment P1 (without the addition of extract) with a motility value of 0.6, which is considered poor.
